Main reason for the push in Thorium reactors seem to be, that the USA got quite some Thorium - while its oil and gas reserves are vanishing. So they got that idea, that they could and must replace it that way. Thing is, a lot of shit is pushed in the USA and then leads to nothing and in the end there is no way around to harvest the energy of the sun, either directly or via wind and water.

The main focus should never be about how 'good' you can do something, but how efficient, since it's pretty pointless if you can for example do something 10 times faster but at 100 times the costs. This said: it's of course never bad to try new things, without that we would likely not exist at all anymore, because we would have died out of hunger and cold in some caves or whatever.

@picksalot1 I mean all life on earth likely goes back to one source, spreading out from that and just mutating in different ways. So that's not really the point. We overall still can't explain how life came into existence in the first place. And no, evolution doesn't explain that at all. Evolution only tells us that life, well, evolves, it doesn't stay the same. That's all, nothing more. No explanation how dust turns to life doesn't exist.

Capitalism never worked, it was simply enforced and that by exploiting billions of people and the planet. It's overall simply the same as feudalism, a system of greed and by that with endless hunger. The reason that life became better for people wasn't capitalism, but technological evolution, capitalism actually stole from that, made everything much worse than it could be and led to endless wars, even today, which are all about capitalist trying to steal from others to feed the endless hungry system and its want for growth (mainly of wealth in the hand of these capitalists). Of course the capitalist propaganda whitewashed that endlessly, mainly talking about "free markets", what alone is a ridiculous joke, since capitalism it eh opposite of a free market, it's the despotism of oligarchs. Same with the whole idea of the "free market system" regarding supply and demand. Supply and demand is ALWAYS and in EVERY system a crucial factor. Capitalism abuses these terms as PR speech for two completely different things: exploitation and greed. It is simple to explain: there is absolutely ZERO reason that a small supply should raise prices. A small supply means, that there is less to give out, so you would have to focus on those in need or just give everyone less of a share, in case you can't simply raise the supply. If a low supply raises prices meanwhile, this mainly means that not those in need will get their share, but those who can pay such prices for it. And of course this leads to supply simply being exploitet and reduced on purpose. Same or demand: while there is a natural demand for certain things humans want or need a system that lets you raise prices and profit with it simply means that they will try to create fake demand, what on top of all other things will lead to waste of energy and resources. All that of course build about the real core of capitalism: that the means of productions, so mainlys machines and now also "AI", are owned and work for a very small group, while the giant rest of peopel have to sell out to those oligarchs to survive. Neither machines nor AI would ever be a problem in socialism = means of production are owned and work for the whole SOCIety, so everyone profits and if there isn't enough need for human labor, because machines are simply so good at doing it, all the better. It's like all those high cultures which got all the time in the world to talk, to read to think and alike, because they had slaves doing all the hard work for them. The difference is, that machines do the same much better, much faster and that without any moral problem (as long as we don't create an AI on purpose that would suffer doing this work like a human would).

This said: yes, majority of peopel are pretty dumb and always have been. This includes quite a lot of scientists and other 'smart' people.

The biggest 'problem' for our western oligarchs is, that deepseek was done so incredible cheep and on top of that opensource. An absolute nightmare for capitalism. Not really much of a surprise that China is going that way, though, since capitalism only works when a small minority exploits the rest of the planet, but if China would do the same, by its size alone, this would simply just ruin the planet, the small minority of us westerners is already scratching at that point. A finite system like earth simply can't handle a system of endless greed like capitalism.

Bubbles got nothing to do with the objects that are put into it. Bubbles are simply a core system of capitalism, which is all about making "money" for very few people, no matter in what way. To put it simple: a capitalist would sell shit for 1 million dollars a piece if he could and without any care about the damage done to others. Of course selling shit for 1 million dollars per pile is a bit obvious but that's the general mechanic. Mostly for it to work you need something with at least some value, either real or made up and then just try to sell this for as much as possible. That's how the "bubble" is created. Most of the time you even got something of real worse, for example a million, but they will say it's two millions worth instead, or 10, or 100 or even one hundred billions if you let them. They would even take the whole planet and eternal servitute of every human being in existence now and in the future, if you let them. And we do let them - step by step...

Overall gender is that giant rat tail humans put onto our biological sex, forcing people to behave a certain way destined by the genetical they were born with, what goes FAR beyond biological differences and has ruined BILLIONS of lives over the centuries, some more, some less and sepecially male lives, who are treated like tools - or weapons. Transsexuality is its own thing and its no question of choice, you got as little influence on that as on your sexuality or skin color. As all other things, evil people like to exploit for distration of course leading to nonsenes like "What is a woman?" and whatever. Likely no one knows the difference between men and women more than transsexuals. It's the very core of the problem that utterly ruins their life. And no, biology isn't even that easy. We got some good millions of genetical males who GOT a female body still. Because overall the male body GOT all the genetical infos to be a female. That one X chromosom is enough for that. And if something goes wrong, for example your body does not pull the trigger or the cells just say "nope, we won't listen", well, then you become a female even with XY chromosomes. Likely not super healthy and infertile (though it doesn't have to be that way), but overall a female - as genetical male. And that's just some of the genetical problems the human boday can have and science may be able to solve. Of course the problem with gender would be much easier - if humans wouldn't be as shit as they are.

Always love when the reason against such things is, that they are bad for profit. You can literally build these acceleators for free if you want to, but someone wants to make money out of it, a lot of money. And even if you take the price: I'm pretty sure these things are far cheaper than for example all the weapons we build and use to burn down countries around the globe (again: for protit).

We run out of nuclear fuel just as fast as we run out of fossil fuel. And the longer we wait to switch to an energy source that doesn't stop to deliver, as the sun does via solar, wind and watercraft (overall all powered by the sun - and tidal powerplants by the moon), the more expensive and overall worse it will get. On top of wasting not renewable fuels for something as stupid as to just burn them for energy. A bit like burning books to make a fire. It's not like we CAN'T switch. We don't want to, because you can of course make a lot more (worthless) money with the other, limited stuff and especially when you can use it as argument, that it is limited and by that expensive. Hard to argue that free energy from the sky most be expensive (though they managed even that of course, thanks to us being stupid).

There is a reason why in this giant universe there are very little planets which even got the slightest chance to develope life. Because life needs a very fragile balance you rarely find - and can easily destroy.
