Interior is just so bad.
3
Really makes you wish they would do a new generation with the same engine and a 6-speed instead of going electric
3
Thinking about getting a nice pre-2014. Found one last month in amazing shape under 60k miles and less than half the price as the 23. I prefer the pre-facelift body. Everything else is the same
3
@TedwardDrives Only makes sense if you can do the work yourself, really
3
The last great M cockpit. No display. No iDrive. Perfect.
3
Good. They're more likely to be saved and maintained properly
3
@rkc5026 The 2GS was made to be a great balance of driver's car and daily just like the E39 was. The are fairly light. Manual swaps are easy thanks to companies like XAT Racing. Can also easily put ISF rotors and LS460 calipers for performance braking.
3
@matt33876 Yeah, they greatly overestimated the life of the anti-corrosion solution used at the factory. This resulted in the majority of cars suffering from rust issues. But they varied wildly. It's not a condemnation of the car's engineering itself, though
3
Make it a manual too
3
Disagree. Parts availability and pricing is a deal breaker
2
I believe the R129 has the best balance of the analog feel with modernity.
2
No. Just no.
2
Nice to see that the same Spyker I saw when I went to Boston in late 2016 is still around. I will never be able to appreciate those wheels on the Lexus, though.
2
Unlikely that a 722.6 is failing that soon. I've seen them with 700k miles shifting as new if maintained. It may have worn plunger valves and needs part 68942-05K which revises the sleeves with o-rings. Conveniently, LegitStreetCars just uploaded a video covering this common issue after such mileage with 722.6.
2
Love me some thin steering wheels. Simple as.
2
Have to respect the decision to keep the thin steering wheel
2
Snagle Channel 2 The last gen Q45/Cima/President is fun. But we can import the earlier JDM models now so that's an option. I love any Japanese DOHC V8 car. I love the UZs the most, though.
2
Yeah, I would never drive a classic or ride a motorcycle in a densely populated area. Other drivers are sooo distracted
2
@phuzaxeman That says nearly nothing. Virtually every vehicle's demand far outpaces the supply right now, no matter how inferior
2
Hmm. Now I wonder what the NVH improvement will be with the Acura Integra. Someone should measure that
2
Design truly peaked 50s to early 60s
2
Yes. Especially if it's the Zeppelin variant.
2
I also hate numbers cars that are boring to drive. This? I will never like them. This entire generation of Maserati is disgusting. They leaned too much on their brand. I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. Edit: The 2020s are also a vast improvement over what they had in 2014.
2
Because it is nearly faultless and more reliable than any other sold, apart from other Toyota V8 cars
2
Settling for a 964 isn't a bad idea.
2
"Hotboi vape bros" are the people buying Subarus no matter what quality they are. Always was that way
2
@Thy_Niz It's heavy for a reason, bud.
2
Take notes, Porsche! No excuses with all the feedback now
2
Taking it off-road would definitely be ideal
2
"little" btw
2
Most older cars are better than now (if, by better, you mean driving enjoyment)
2
The 996 is definitely no joke
2
More than likely a part issue and every single one of them off the assembly line within a specific timespan is affected
2
One of the greatest. Apparently '67 had the best seats.
2
I certainly don't want to look conspicuous in a luxury car
2
Always loved it and the headlights
2
Woo boy. Ever made? Now, that's a contentious statement
2
Always appreciate the close-up shots showing the tiny details
2
If the car wasn't more of an isolation chamber than previous generations of the car I could probably overlook the grille. But it's not happening
2
New Rolls-Royce and Bentley do nothing for me. These do.
2
Wings are definitely unnecessarily large
2
Well, it's harder to compare cars like these today because there are so many variables affecting the experience. Assuming everything is in perfect working condition and there are no failed bushings, etc., however...
2
@SDav21 The only person being rude here was you when you decided to be a bot-like contrarian and not read my comment. Now you're using a straw man attack (I never claimed what you say). I was writing about why it was designed that way. Any reason you could have to close everything from inside (too hot, etc.) is obvious. But it was really designed to be a quick way to rid smells in conjunction with recirculate. Very simple. This was explained in the owner's manual.
2
Why is wood somehow taboo in modern performance cars???
2
Totally disagree. The digital assists and displays of that era are very apparent. The last period where electronics were easy to repair and manage was late 90s to early 00s. Edit: There are exceptions, but this is obviously about the average
2
Everything could be optioned on the S430. But most weren't ordered that way. Choosing a base S500 instead may have been more appealing
2
Yeah, mostly the smell of leather and glue
2
Digital displays will never be able to best the visual appeal of a quality analog interior.
2
@sptauto That is not even close to reality. When cars depreciate, they are far more likely to be crushed when damaged, parted out, and maintained very poorly. This is only logical given the price of genuine Aston Martin parts (when there is almost no alternative supplier). You can believe in any fairytale you want but it's not reality
2
It's still sad compared to 90s BMW design but it's even more depressing that I see this as favorable to what they're selling now
