  1.  @7James77  It's something that George Orwell once said of his upper middle class socialist friends. It's the virtue signaling of the well to do. Sort of like Bernie Sanders. It used to be millionaires AND billionaires that he'd criticise. Now it's just billionaires. People like them have the cutoff point, for those they don't like, at themselves. If someone has more, they don't like them.

  2.  @anneanne9009  Yes, it is like a war effort but it's not the same thing. Also, neither Trump or Fox has ever advocated against State's rights or the Constitution. In fact, Trump has said, numerous times, that he will allow the states to define their own response to the virus, as is outlined in the Constitution. He has said that he disagrees with Georgia, opening too quickly, but he can't force them to abide by his guidelines, no more than he can enforce the draconian rules that the State of Michigan has implemented an he disagrees with. He cannot do a thing, except withhold funding from the Federal government, which may or may not be a good idea, given the need to help the sick, or he can wait until it goes before the Supreme Court and a decision has been made that the State of Michigan has overstepped their bounds. That's the law of the United States and the procedures that MUST be followed.

  3.  Sarah Langford  Oh really. Wasn't it Biden that said that Trump was being xenophobic when he imposed travel restrictions to China. Then he compounded it by saying that travel bans didn't work when Trump expanded the restrictions to Europe. Didn't the Governors of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and California put Covid patients in nursing homes when it was common knowledge that Coved was deadly to senior citizens. Trump sent hospital ships that were NEVER used to New York and Los Angeles. The Javits Centre was turned into a makeshift hospital, by the Trump administration, that sat empty. The Mayor of New York kept telling people to get out and enjoy themselves until some of his staff threatened to resign. Pelosi went to Chinatown, hugging and shaking hands, saying all was well and to come on down. She tore up the SOTU address, in which Trump said that they were trying to work with China over the Covid outbreak. Strange thing is, I listened to Trump as well and I decided that I'd better be prepared for this outbreak. When the great toilet paper panic struck, I was sitting pretty because I bought a extra groceries, every week, leading up to the lockdown to flatten the curve. I didn't just listen to Trump. I watched what he did and I was ready. This wasn't a failure of Trump. It's a failure of people, like yourself, who didn't get ready for what was to come. However, you'll never own your failure to act. You'd rather blame someone else.

It's going to take tough decisions for the homeless and for ALL of us. In fact, the leaders in those cities are the ones who are treating the homeless as if they've no value. They're the ones who're NOT making the tough decisions and allowing this to get WORSE year after year. They do NOTHING. Not a thing. Why???? Because they're the ones the ultimately believe that these people aren't worth fighting for. They use them to point out the cruelty of America in allowing this to happen, all the while being the ones who are the leaders who do nothing and are the poster childs of the American cruelty they decry. It's their way to maintaining political power by tickling the "empathy" of their voting base. There's nothing empathetic about how the leaders in those cities are dealing with the homeless.

  8.  @richarddefortune1329  This week's witnesses had better have more to show than the ones that gave testimony last week. They had nothing and admitted it. One week of nothing. Maybe they'll uncover something this week but I was sure they were going to get Trump with the Mueller report and that was a dud. I also little confidence in Schiff's assessment of facts. He said that he had incontrovertible proof that Trump colluded with the Russians yet he has yet to tell anyone what the proof is. I'm starting to think that the Democrats are trying too hard to wish impeachment. So far, they still haven't proved a thing. It even sounds as if you're wishing for an outcome instead of waiting to hear the testimony in an unbiased manner.

  9. @rgsand01 Why wouldn't I have loved to see the country open and raring to go by Easter? I wanted to see the end of the Covid crisis. Didn't YOU???? What kind of a sick puppy would I be if I wanted to see the virus keep on infecting people? There's nothing wrong with optimism as long as you don't go overboard with it and no one did. The lockdown was extended WAY past Easter. You see optimism doesn't necessitate ignoring reality. You can still do both. Some prefer to be optimistic about the future. That's me to a tee. That doesn't mean that things will ALWAYS work out the way I envisioned but one thing is certain. I hate pessimism. Pessimism breeds nihilism and surrender. I'd rather be optimistically wrong than surrender to a pessimistic view of the future. Being afraid to admit that you're wrong is the problem and since Trump didn't lift the lockdown at Easter, he was basically saying that he was wrong and he admitted it and moved on.

His father, the vice president of the US, tells the Ukraine administration that they have 6 hours to fire the prosecutor or they may lose 1 billion dollars. The prosecutor is fired. 3 years later, a new administration is elected, on the platform of anti-corruption. Trump, during a congratulatory phone call, says it might be a good idea to investigate the Biden affair, since the investigation into that possible corruption was forcibly stopped. Somehow, that makes Trump the bad guy. An American official may have committed a corrupt act and Trump's mentioning of it is somehow illegal. Yup....sounds logical to me.

When was the LAST peace deal in the region let alone who was the last one to broker TWO peace deals. This may not be peace, but it's working towards it....FOR A CHANGE. It's been doing nothing but escalate for the last 20 years. It's nice to things start to wind down. ISIS is gone, troops are leaving Iraq and Afghanistan, peace deals between Bahrain and the UAE with Israel. Over 50,000 people were in Washington to take part in that protest march. Had they wanted to they could have ripped that building apart with their bare hands. That wasn't the plan for that day...at all. Think about it. Trump's followers are 2nd Amendment supporters. They're the "gun nuts" the open/carry advocates, "from my cold dead hands"...that's the favourite saying. Yet, NOT one of them thought to take their guns with them? They left them at home? What kind of insurrectionist revolutionaries don't bring guns along? They were just a bunch that were pissed off and got carried away. About 300 of them out of tens of thousands. One guy arrested was even an Antifa supporter who had been arrested at a BLM riot in Utah....but most were just the dummies of the huge crowd and you'll get them anywhere. Some of them were let in the side doors by security. I don't know WHAT that was about. You could see little old ladies wandering around inside, even honouring the velvet ropes for the tourists. They sure looked like scary insurrectionists....LOL. It was stupid move but the Democrats are blowing it all out of proportion....and deep down you know that's true. Look at how they went on about Brian Sicknick, claiming he was killed by the rioters with a fire extinguisher and giving him a heroes funeral. He sounded like a good guy but he died of a stroke....and you believed all their nonsense. Come on, man!!!!

  25. @Tiger Dragon What you're saying doesn't really show how effective the wall is or not and is open to personal opinion. The Democrats were openly bragging about building the fences only 5 years ago, so their objection right now doesn't seem to be one about it's effectiveness but about scoring political points. Trump has shown himself to be a corrupt individual and maybe this will have elements of corruption as well, but even that doesn't mean the building a wall is ineffective. A person can make money of good ideas and bad ideas, equally. It seems that no one has made a comprehensive case for the effectiveness of that wall as a tool for border security. I do know one thing. Other countries use barriers for border security and I was just in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico and the complex of resorts that I stayed at had a huge wall with razor wire running along the top to keep out the local intruders. These business people that owned those resorts spent a lot of money on that wall. They didn't do it for no reason. They must believe that their wall was worth the money. A wall isn't the only answer but if you combine that with added tech and agents, it may be very effective in stopping the flow of illegals, drugs and other smuggled goods.

This isn't China, North Korea or Stalin's Soviet Union where the parameters for treason are so broad that everyone could be in jail. Differing opinions aren't grounds for treason. We're trying to get people that approve of this behaviour to see that this is a 2 way street and that once it's acceptable to do it in one direction, it will become acceptable to do it in the opposite direction.   46. There's a transgender, I believe she's 19, that has expressed regret over her transgender surgery and has gone viral all over the internet. She's been harassed and threatened a LOT more for that regret than for when she first made her claim that she was trans. If a child gets beat up by these "radicals" those radicals should face legal consequences, NOT the journalist that might express concerns about this radical surgery or the use of puberty blockers. I'm seriously concerned that this is just the start of the regrets.....but I'm not to say anything. It may upset the DOJ and the FBI. This was unheard of 10 years ago and now people can be prosecuted for wondering if this might be harmful to a child. It went from 0 to 90 real quick.....TOO quick for most of us.
