  3.  @bnbtoys  Hip hop and rap is being played because parents are allowing their kids to buy the music and listen to it. If no one is buying it, they can't make it at a profit. Ultimately, it's how those kids are being raised. They're not being raised to believe that the lyrics, in rap and hip hop, are encouraging anti-social behaviour, especially against women. You're not understanding how important good parenting is to any society. Hip hop would never have taken hold in the fifties. Parents, at that time, would not have allowed this stuff in their homes.

  5.  @dubnation5824  That was the most incoherent, rambling, profanity laced rant I've read in awhile. The grammar was incredibly bad. My 12 year old grand daughter could have written a more intelligible piece than that 2 years ago. I find it very difficult to believe that you're an academic of any kind, let alone an historian. You've done nothing but use insulting language and not one word of it presents a clear and concise rebuttal to anything that I might have said or implied. It's a rant filled with hate and vitriol and not one that one should ever be taken seriously over the internet. However, when meeting face to face, I'd be concerned due to what appears to be a personality which could be extremely dangerous and unpredictable. You're a little out there.....a lot out there, actually.

Money is a convenient means to trade or negotiate for the things that we need to sustain us, like food, water, clothing and shelter, the very basics of life. Every high end species needs some of these things and our fragility demands that we need more. In reality, we in the west, live a life of comparative ease. The poorest of us live better than even the richest did 500 years ago. We live longer, have better health, live in homes that keep us dry when it's wet, warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. We live in a luxury that would make people like Henry VIII and Elizabeth I gasp in amazement and envy. I'm a retired, almost 70 year old man, living way below the poverty standard for my country, yet I never worry about the basic essentials of life. In fact, I'm leaving for Cancun for 10 days in a 5 Star resort this weekend and last year, I was in the Netherlands and the Dominican Republic. I'm living a life that wasn't even a dream in medieval Europe. You want to wallow in misery and envy, that's your choice. I prefer to appreciate just how lucky I am and enjoy the only life that I'll ever have. It's not always easy and the work was hard at times, but I am fully cognisant of the special times we live in. Times that so many many so cavalierly complain about and want to destroy. They have no idea what they might lead themselves into.

  11.  @npcwill283  We already have, in the Constitution, an amendment that prevents a public agency from advocating for religion. IT'S AGAINST THE LAW. A public school is a public agency so we don't need special legislation to prevent it. It already exists in our Constitution. However, it is difficult, if not impossible, to understand human history without an academic understanding of religion and how it shaped human history. That's the academics of history, just as sex education was supposed to be a biological examination of sex as a science. It's gone WAY beyond that.

  14. When my mother caught me with my hand in the cookie jar, I was guilty. "Proven guilty" was NEVER on the table. Moseby was caught. The rest "should" be a formality but she does have that "rich privilege" going for her. Mom never gave me any privilege, other than not pulling too hard on my ear, because normally I was "such a good boy".

It's nice to hear that maybe I'm not as crazy as I sometimes think I am. Also, I fully agree with you on the racial and political bias. So much of what's being said is based along their favourite narrative and has nothing to do with specific facts.

  17.  @savagetv6460  So, that's the purpose of schools? To produce geniuses? I rather doubt it. This isn't about what it offers sports fans. It's about what it offers the students that are participating in the sport. It offers a free education, deeper life experiences, new contacts, unlimited future possibilities and a chance to develop their bodies and minds through physical exertion. That others can enjoy watching the odd game that they play is just a peripheral bonus to the school and the student athlete.

It was in the poor sections of town where minorities lived and worked. If it happened in the neighbourhoods where the city politicians and bureaucrats lived, they'd have stopped the riots FLAT. These athletes and musicians are worth hundreds of millions of dollars apiece. Some, like Michael Jordan are billionaires. Are we burning down their homes? Are we refusing to buy their records, attend basketball games because they're almost all black? The stands look awfully full to me. That burning of black owned banks happened YEARS ago. No one is burning down Oprah's studios. You're exhibiting EXACTLY what this video is talking about. BLAME others. "It's not my fault." and because you believe that, you do NOTHING. If you want to win a race, you have to run. If you don't, you'll never be a champion or a success. It doesn't matter who you are. You have to run to be a success.

  22. Jahleel Sayers If they had bought something, they couldn't have been charged with trespassing. All they'd have to do is show that they purchased something and they're off the hook. Quite simple really and they might even be able to take Starbucks to court for discrimination. I'm sure lots of lawyers would love to take that case for them.....if it had any merit, which I strongly doubt.

Also, if your children are failing in school, it doesn't matter what the colour of their skin is. It's up to you to make sure that they get a proper education. That's YOUR responsibility....no one else's. To hide behind skin colour is an abrogation of that responsibility. It's the same with making sure that your children have a prominent father figure in their lives. That's the responsibility of BOTH parents. No one else. Your comment sounds like one that a person makes who's always looking to blame someone else for the failures in his life.

My uncle spent the entire war in a POW camp. Do you know what? THAT WAR IS OVER!!!!! Every point you made referred to things of the past. Let's talk about today. If your kid is failing school....find out why. If you're a woman, don't have sex with a man that won't be there for you. If you're a man, don't have sex with a woman that has sex for fun. It's about personal responsibility. Don't do the things that will hurt others, especially future or current children. Be better. No one can do that for you. That includes everyone.....not just black Americans.

Although they say it isn't being taught in schools, the NEC voted to continue teaching, in the spirit of that ideology, even if it's against the law. Please, do not put your head in the sand. I've googled it and I didn't find a thing about other black presidents of the US except ones that had acted in movies depicting black presidents. It was something that the kid thought, maybe he was getting older and wondered why he still liked stuffed animals, and in his unsophisticated mind that had to be the logical answer. That's why this gender stuff is so harmful. It validates a passing thought and forces a child into a declaration that the child can't back out of. This parent handled this perfectly and said "It means you're a boy that likes stuffed animals". This showed the child that there are reasons why he might like stuffed animals and allowed the child room to live his life without the pressure of declaring gender.

  37.  @NicerNine  I don't think that he should have apologised but I'm not going to judge the guy on it, either. Neither one of us know the pressure that he was under or any of the details involved, including things that we may never know. We just don't know all the circumstances and he may have been backed into a corner which left him no choice. I'm not about to impugn his character when I don't have all the facts. I'm just a spectator, just like you are, and neither of us are even close to what all has transpired. Also, I don't judge a person on one action. It's the totality of his life that matters. On the surface, a guy like John Wayne Gacy seemed like a good guy, a clown who made children laugh and enjoy themselves. We all know that this wasn't him at all. Just like Rogan. We can believe that he did the wrong thing by apologising but we don't really know him or what transpired. So I'm not going to call him names to suit my own beliefs or way of thinking. I'm not better than he is. It's arrogant to believe that, even while I question his reason for apologising. I'm going to say that's exactly what's wrong with societal attitudes these days. We've all named ourselves the moral and ethical arbiters of the behaviours of others and we "other" them because it makes us feel superior. I'm trying my best to reject that tendency to arrogance.

  38. I'm sure we're going to get the "cops kill blacks for no reason" arguments, somewhere in this comment section. I'm sure that there are corrupt cops, just like there are tall cops and friendly cops and quiet cops and stubborn cops. They're human and like ALL humans, each one is different in temperament and personality. However, some of us don't want to see them as individuals. They want us to see police officers as carbon copies of one another. Maybe if the MSM wasn't so quick to jump on a police officer shooting a black as a racist crime, we'd have better race relations in this country.....but they don't. When a white guy is shot by an officer, there's hardly a whisper from the MSM but a when it's a black guy, they're all over it, calling everything and everyone in sight a racist and babbling on and on about unconscious bias and systemic racism. It's MSM that's the problem in this country. They report what they think can cause controversy. Blacks being shot and the ensuing riots is a Godsend to these vultures and they fan the flames in glee. They know that making a big deal out of a police officer being shot won't cause the riots and rhetoric, so they don't mention it, except in passing. MSM has become a danger to the public. They've broken one of the basic rules of journalism. They've become the news and it's turning the people of the US against each other.....and they love it.

  40. That's because the fathers aren't there, in the family, to show how one is supposed to treat others, especially women. When the parents don't show respect for each other, how are the children going to learn respect? The parents, and the elders of the family, exist to be the centre of the family and should set the pattern of behaviour for their children. This is not a perfect system but it's all we've had throughout our history. When that family structure breaks down, it will almost ALWAYS turn out badly.

Almost every American comes from somewhere else. In fact, the enemies of the Dutch were the British and Spanish, for centuries. Yet, here we are, fellow citizens of the same country and I don't care. For 60 years, they've lived in the inner city, on welfare, sending their kids to the worst schools in the world and they STILL vote Democrat. Every time a white cop shoots a black man, it's in a Democrat city with a Democrat city council. Yet....it's ALL the fault of the Republicans, somehow. Think about this. If the city council, of these cities, have the power to defund the police, they are "the bosses" of the police department. The police department answers to them....city councils that are almost exclusively Democrat. When the police are corrupt.....IT'S THE CITY COUNCIL'S JOB TO FIX IT. The summer of riots proved that they weren't doing their jobs. Yet, Democrats get voted in again. The logic of these people just astounds me.

He may teach football, hopefully that his students, football players, can go on to a lucrative career in professional sports. If not, the students will also have backup courses, to earn a degree in another field, if a football career doesn't work out.

When it's over, doors will be opened to them in professional sports or in the fields they'd study in academia. I'd say it's great that the school can make money on their sports programs. It might lesson the tuition for ALL students. Why is it that people get so envious and resentful when they see dollar signs? "MILLIONS OF DOLLARS????" Some people react to that phrase like it was a punch in the gut.
