@TheKittyHenry95 sure. Read The Annoying Persistence of the Income Stagnation Myth by Scott Lincicome. Or see the thread titled “in EPI we trust” on badeconomics for the productivity pay gap myth. Basically the people peddling it use the highest measure of inflation (CPI) which overstates inflation by using an invented basket of goods rather than what people actually buy, and then they also leave out pieces of compensation that are key to keeping these calculations apples-to-apples. In the case of the productivity pay gap myth, they just invented it by using two different measures of inflation, with one used to make wages look lower today and higher in years past and the other being used to make productivity look higher today and lower in years past. If you would like me to explain in more layman’s terms I can do that too. Just let me know.
3
@Krooksbane your anecdote is not data. Wages did not stagnate, you earn poorly while your parents earned well. You cannot compare the two and pretend like you are equal.
3
Incorrect. The top political donors are unions not corporations. Your comment is typical leftoid ignorance.
3
They aren’t more productive. They pay lower wages and earn lower profits, hence why they are not economic powerhouses and instead comprise a small portion of total firms.
3
@zarategabe he lied about real wages in like the opening clip. Shit isn’t that hard to figure out given that Laffer already pointed it out in the debate.
3
That is a lie. Wages have kept up with productivity. Median wages are not skewed by large outliers.
3
The economy did not fall under Trump but under Biden. More lies from you
3
There is nothing honorable about the lying Marxist idiot. Laffer has published work that stands. Wolff does not. Get your head checked
3
The correct answer is that socialism has made those places awful, but the useful idiots will mindlessly blame “sanctions” or “sabotage” because that is their scripted talking point.
3
Wolff was the one making things up. Laffer owned him in just the opening clip
3
😂 nope socialism loses and socialists are the brainwashed ones with no facts
3
Nope Wolff is wrong and lied repeatedly
3
@josephs883 i just brought the proof but no, the one making the original claim about real wages was Wolff in the debate and now you with respect to Laffer. You have yet to respond to my sources and Wolff has no response to them either.
3
This is the case for all of his debates and talks. He just lies and makes up a bunch of nonsense
3
Tax cuts don’t cause debt. Spending does. Revenue has increased and not decreased over time.
3
@michaelmappin1830 thanks for proving yourself incapable of reading proof and being nothing but a liar
3
Both of them owned Wolff
3
Incorrect.
3
@timc1604 no he wasn’t. He refuted Wolff’s lies directly
3
Wrong. They did go up. The wages actual people earn has nothing to do with the federal minimum wage. Only around 1% of the workforce earns minimum wage and half of them get raises above that within a year.
3
Wolff spewed nothing but stupid debunked talking points as he always does.
3
@huwhitecavebeast1972 exactly
3
Laffer obviously. Wolff did nothing but spew lies and fairy tales
3
@ryanosterman2651 that’s a lie. Yaron clearly had the facts and it was Wolff who was lying.
3
No, they do not. Wolff spews the same debunked nonsense over and over again. And yes, workers do have choice as demonstrated by how often they change jobs
3
He doesn’t even have a good heart because he is a pathological liar. He peddles Marxist propaganda, gets corrected on his lies, acts like a pompous ass about it, then goes to the next debate and does it all over again, often lying about the same things he was corrected on previously. He learns nothing and lies constantly.
3
@flame-sky7148 see the book Debunking Utopia. It addresses all of this.
3
Wrong. This is literally the zero sum fallacy and it’s wrong. Learn basic economics
3
@randy1as yes I would agree with that. In fact I take it a step further and don’t want any one single entity setting the rules for all since that becomes corrupted as any monopoly can
3
This take is not only historically illiterate but also economically illiterate. Capitalism isn’t enslaving anyone and makes the poor better off.
3
Glad to see more people noticing how idiotic, dishonest and delusional Wolff is
3
Good on you for seeing through his lunacy.
3
😂 nope the opposite is the case. Wolff does not at all know history. He gets it wrong constantly and even gets caught lying about the data in the opening.
3
@puccaso not only do I already have this documented in screenshots on my videos but other people have also documented Wolff's lies about history. The stagnant wage myth was proven wrong by Scott Lincicome and the productivity pay gap has also been debunked by multiple people. Which one do you want more on?
3
Nah Laffer wins this one hands down just on the opening clip and Wolff lying
3
There is no theft or exploitation from capitalism. You literally just got done trying to rationalize theft yourself. You’re just projecting
3
@nvmffs I have listed multiple of Wolff’s lies in my own top level comments. The opening clip is him lying and peddling the stagnant wage myth and the debunked productivity pay gap myth. He lies about the issue of risk and it just being invented to rationalize profits going to capital. The list goes on and on.
3
@sten260 it’s useless to correct Mappin. He lies for a living. I have over a dozen videos detailing his lies and he keeps parroting the same lies day after day after day no matter how many times he gets proven wrong with sources. He just refuses to read the sources and spams more.
3
@reallyshel bingo
3
Inequality is not slavery
3
No it is not and it lowers poverty. Quit spewing lies
2
@ahsimiksnabac6576 project elsewhere with your illiteracy.
2
@LongDefiant it never has. Communism is a fairy tale for children and useful idiots. When you grow up you will learn better, kid.
2
@vivalaleta I already answered you on this and you ran away from it repeatedly.
2
dsgio7254 no they do not, because they explicitly are not gathering the lowest priced things.
2
dsgio7254 no they do not. You won’t find that anywhere in their reports or calculations. Why do you keep making things up?
2
dsgio7254 you’re the one making ridiculous claims, not me
2
No, he corrected Wolff’s lies with actual data
2
Incorrect. The data shows the poor getting richer and wages growing faster than inflation, with only small periods of this not being the case. Poor people today are richer than poor people of 50 years ago.
2
dsgio7254 no it wasn’t. Go peddle your dishonest smear elsewhere.
