I would love to see a serise of these videos of what some ships would be like if they had a refit or different refit (Like actually upping the armour on the Kongo's)
23
"Denpends how predatory you want to get with the Q archives" another good Drachisim also now have a mental image of Drach going to the archives in his full armour
22
Japan does not have the Polish luck
22
I see Drach is practicing for the fights at the Q archives
22
00:18:15 See i think the British would have just done what they did with the rebuilt HMS President and just sailed her around Spain just to troll the Spannish.
21
Its always suprising how much technology crosses over from military to non-military and vise-versa.
20
Is Kings opinion on Beaty recorded and if so where, also were their any WW2 Royal Navy Officers he liked?
20
@sr71blackbirddr whish is basically pistols
19
@obelic71 Sadly the Warspite was no where the Japanese, she nearly got to fight the Kongo's which would have been glorious to see if excessinvely short lived for the Kongo's, i love them but 9 inch armours not going stop Warspites wrath. It would be a case of: R-Class: "Warspite come back your out numbered four to one." Warpspite: "Then it is an even fight."
19
HMS Manxman: "What took you so long?" US Fleet: "Trolling Royal Navy." HMS Manxman: "Oh we haven't started sir, we got all kinds of jokes for you." US Fleet: "Help!"
19
@theleva7 "But a fleash wound."
19
If Urban combat is the nightmare for Generals, what's an Admirals nightmare?
18
Illustrious: "You dare try and sink me, sink me? You sir shall rue this day!"
18
5:27 that german crewman was having a real bad day
17
"Realease the Johnston!"
17
What is your opinion on the the battlecruiser? on one hand we have the Battle of the Falklands which shows the ships strenghts, then then we have Jutland and Denmark striat which shows thieir weaknesses, it seems they are good in anything that doesn't involve other capital ships personally i'm conflicted and what like to hear your views.
17
I would pay good money to have seen a Dunkerque in the hands of the Free Polish Navy, because the results would have been spectacular, plus given how hard it was to get De Gaulle to do anything useful with the Free French Navy it would have lot more useful. Besides the "De Gaulle doing anything other then going apoplectic" is all the more reason to give the Free Polish navy a Dunkerque.

Japanese Navy: "We must find the man who thought this 25mm was a good idea and remove him from his job at once."
15
If Seydlitz is the German version of Warspite and Enterprise, i.e. ships to stubborn to die, who are the Japanese and Italian versions of Warspite and Enterprise?
15
Thats not an even fight thats massacre for them
14
That shot at 7:07 of USS Texas listing like that is both sad and incredabily frustrating seriously how can a group who's sole job is to keep the warship intact fail so badly.
14
Lieutenant: "Sir the enemy have taken our idea for an Ice Carrier." Captian: "Well then Lieutenant what are you waiting for?" Lieutenant: "Sir?" Captain: "If the enemy has taken our idea its only proper we take it back." Lieutenant "Yes sir, marines prepare to board!" Captian: "Helmsman get me as close as you can i wish to hit them with my sword." Helmsman: "Aye Sir!"
13
Has there ever been a naval version of the Christmas Truce in World War One?
13
"Need more 20mm's"
13
Personally i would say the Japanese Naval High Command could also be Khorne considering how much time they spend trying to fight the Japanese Army and each other
13
The Kreigsmarine decide to pause construction on the Bismarck and Tripitz and up gun the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau in time for the Norway campaign how would the pair have done against Renown and later Scharnhorst vs Duke of York at the battle of the North Cape?
13
It is like thousands of voice have cried out in terror
12
Could you give us your top 5 or 10 best and worst First Lords of the Admiralty and why?
12
Whose 18 inch gun's that were actually built were better and more powerful the British or the Japanese?
12
HMS Warspite with 16 inch guns, oh lord thats rather terrifying.
12
Or rum lots of lovely rum
12
Drach does the Royal Navy have an Equal to the US navies NCIS also are you aware that the third ship of the Kongo class the Haruna isn't pronounced (HA-RUNA) the Japanese was is all one word no space between the A and the R (Sorry had to put this as my cousin who speaks japanese was moaning at me to add this)
12
Before your channel most of what i heard about the Carriers of WW2 was on the Yorktowns esspecially Enterprise and in the odd occasion i'd find a note on the Shoukaku's in the margin somewhere, do you think the Illustrious class and Shoukaku's deserve a bit more limelight, esspecially the Illustrious class given they poundings they took in the Med?
11
Would it be fair to say that the Norway Campaign was a mistake for the German Navy given their losses especially in Destroyers
10
I know this might be out your zone of research but I was watching a seconds from disaster documentary about the USS Forrestal fire and it said the official report on the fire spoke of the crew not knowing damage control (The main damage control crew were all taken out in one blast) very well like they didn't know which to use put out the fire foam or water yet US damage control was very good in World War Two but by the Vietnam it seems to have changed to a more Japanese style system, why was this?
10
@GaldirEonai As i'm sure the binoculars can testify to.
10
@ussenterprise3156 Yes it was surely you could ask Belfast about her.
10
The Orks approve this idea
10
How useful would HMS Dreadnought have been had it fought in Jutland
10
00:56:00 I imagine HMS Warspite looking a lot like Adrian Carton De Wiart, or Captian Fredrickson from the Sharpe series, quite calm and respectful usually while also covered in scares, but if she gets a wiff of a fight she's front and center fighting people like you see in the Kingsman films though with a smile and slight glee in her eyes.

What are your 5 best "Are you taking this seriously?" moments in naval history?
9
Given that the ships used were either their designs or iterations on their designs what was Britain's and France's reactions to the Battle of Tsushima, did it lead to a massive need to redesign their ships and their doctrine given how much damage both the Russians and Japanese ships took in the battle and how most of the features which were meant to be safe failed?
9
Illustrious just after being hit: "Haha, thats adorable, now how are you actually going to try and sink me." Germans: (Crying) "No fair!"
9
Given their larger size, better construction and historical toughness, could the Shoukaku's have weathered the Damage taken by Soryuu and Hiryuu at Midway? And would the Japanese have been in a better situation if the Soryuu and Hiryuu were deployed to Coral Sea and the Shoukaku's were sent to Midway? (I don't think the Japanese could have won Midway with the Shoukaku's, but they might have been able to recover the 5th carrier division at least and bring them back to action later)
9
If the domestic enemy for the Imperial Japanese Navy was the Japanese Army and US Navies main Enemy was US Congress what was the Royal Navy's main enemy that wasn't a foregin power?
9
I think a good point on weather the Kongo's are Battleships or Battlecruisers, is HMS Repulse, the two in WW2 are very simular and comparible, they had simular speed, simular firepower (Kongo might have more but Repulse has heavier) and they have simular armour. Yet the Repulse was called a battlecrusier her whole live and was never modified like her sister Renown, so given that Repulse is accpeted as Battlecrusier by everyone and the Knogo's are in the same ball park i think that makes them a Battlecrusier, a good Battlecrusier no doubt, but a still battlecrusier. And just to throw my hat in another ring i would call Hood a Fast Battleship because shes effectively a Queen Elizabeth with more speed, same guns, simular protection Hoods just faster and we accpet the QE's as Battleships so i think we have to call Hood a Battleship to.

Drach once again preserving history before its sadly lost.

I was rewatching your Kamchatka video and it got thinking: 1) Can you think of any other ship's or officers that were so bad they were a greater help to the enemy then their own side? 2) Language and doctrine aside if Rozhestvensky had command of the Royal Navy, French Navy or US Navy could he have won against the Japanese? 3) Why did Rozhestvensky not use the Kamchatka as target practice after its incident in the storm or after it said it was sinking while he stood on the bow with his parrot and Megaphone hurling insults and Binoculars at the ship or if he was feeling merciful send it home with some of the members of the fleet who were sent home?
8
Of all the Axis Navies which would you say was the most effective as i know the Italian Navy didn't sink the same amount of ships as the Japanese and German Navies but they were still a threat to the Allies till they surrendered holding down a big part of the Royal Navy and the French Navy till France surrendered also in Drydock 43 you were talking about the Italian Navy attacking the landings at Salerno landings any chance that will be the next war-gamed battle
