Kamchatka was only a threat to the Admiral Rozhestvensky's sanity.

This is what happens when you annoy the Royal Navy, they just apply the principal of need more firepower. The battle of the Falklands after smashing cruiers the Royal Navy applied battlecrusiers to the issue and here at Narvik beaten off destroyers well clearly its time send in Warspite just to be absolutley sure no ones left standing.
3
Its a clearly ridiculous tin hat idea but what do you think was the cause for the start of the USS Eldridge conspiracy theory i mean most stories i've read like this do have something to kick it off even if it is a few to many in the pub
3
If your facing the Kamchatka it might be

During the 1991 Mt. Unzen volcanic disaster the JSDF sent three tanks into a pyroclastic flow (which sounds fun), i was wondering did a Navy ever send ships into simular natural disasters?

Two Questions Drach one why did battleship gun turrets not have an escape door in the for situations like hoods sinking and its forward turret i know it would be a weakness but i think if a ships turrets are being shot in the back or like with one of Bismarck's turrets with back exiting stage left its all gone wrong anyway and how do you think the gun crew of the hoods forward turret could have fired its last salvo

An odd thought came to mind recently, why was the force at Gibraltar called "Force H" I would have thought they would be called "Force G" the G being Gibraltar so how were forces like Force H given their name, was it random or was it order of importance?
3

3
Would the Kongo Class have been better by upping the armour belt to 12 inchs in the 1940's and would it have changed the fates of the Hiei and Kirishima with the upped armour
3
Admiral King to Admiral Halsey "Stop sailing your ships into Typhoons!"
3
How were forces like Force Z given their name, was it random or was it order of importance?

3
What do you think are the top 5 most criminal actions, decisions or people in all navies in the 20th century
3
In previous drydock you mentioned that USS Enterprise might have angered a very low powered but extremely vengeful deity, could HMS Warspite have angered it to and can you think of any other ship that seemed to have angered this seemingly spiteful deity of failure to sink warships
3
1) HMS Hood vs one of the Kongo's as built and in 1941 in a open ocean and no magic BB's to make either go bang? 2) How do the four Kongo's compare to Beatty's and Hippers squadrons at Jutland? 3) In a Previous Drydock you said the Kongo's would have been a great help for the British BattleCruisers had they been there but how would they have effected the battle if they had been helping the German Battlecruisers? 4) Which class was the most useful for the Japanese the Kongo's Nagato's or Yamato's? 5) Was their anyway to get more use or a better way to use the Kongo class?
3
@bkjeong4302 Given that soldiers, sports and stuntmen have ended up at deaths door and come back for more maybe.

I have finished rewatching the Guadalcanal series in full again and it struck me that US intelligence seems to not be as good as it was at Midway, was Midway just a lucky one off or had something changed between Midway and Guadalcanal?
3
So the Japanese are making this excellent Torpedo, by comparison BuOrd was making the Mark 14, enough said.
3
Has anyone tried or thought about trying to parachute troops on to a ship?
3
@Katyusha as i said the plan is not perfect its trying to use them better not win the war, also i was trying to off set the waves of US planes by that by using the light carriers again not perfect but the Kido Buti being gutted at Midway kind limits the number of Japanese carriers avaliable and using the Shokaku's i ruled out as they are the last big carrier units left to the Japanese and their needed for fighting the other carriers.
2
@bkjeong4302 Well i was going off the historical situation they were in with my plan and i was trying eek out more use for them then anything and sinking something is more useful then sitting in a port for me at least. As for the carriers well the Kido Buti was gutted at Midway and the Shokaku's are needed to try and fight and the Essex's (Even if it is doomed). So you can't really raid with carriers if the carriers are either not there or tasked for other duties and i would argue if you got them there might as well try and get something out of them and using them to raid landing ships is better then charging into other battleships which they don't have the armour to fight.
2
@Katyusha which just goes back to the point that Japan didn't have the resources to fight the war they were in.
2
What was your opinion on admiral jellico he seems to have acted decently at jutland withdrawing the fleet to keep them intact as aposed to ramming torpedos knowing that the UK need the fleet a draw even a bad one was better then lossing the whole fleet just for glory
2
I've noticed on a few ships like the Queen Elizabeth Class and Iron Duke this sort of balcony/promenade like construction on the stern of the ships what is it and why is it there as i can't seem to find a reason for it being there other then to give the crew a place to smoke away from the ammo, Beatty!
2
You find yourself in 1915 and the new commander of Home Fleet how would you personally get rid of Beatty anything goes even have him smoke in a magazine with no one on the ship.
2
The French Navy has decided they don’t want the British to have all the fun for World War One and want to follow in the path of their forefathers and want to donate ships to the Royal Navy to make a “French 6th Battle Squadron” what ships would be best and would you choose if you had the option if there are any differences between best and your own preference.
2
After the Invasion of Sicily could the Italian Navy done anything to counter the invasion as they seem strangely inactive, i would have thought they would have tried to do more to try and stop the invasion like they had planed for the Italian mainland?

2
While doing my searching through navel history i have found a few ships that for one reason or another i have found a bit of a soft spot for even if the ships themselves weren't necessarily that impressive, one example being Tenryuu being an old ship at the time of salvo island and still putting up a decent fight do you have have any examples of ships that even if they weren't that impressive or did anything glorious you have a soft spot for?
2
I was watching a video on youtube about Yamato in operation Ten-Go and it showed the Sick Bay being hit and it got me wondering, where did the Sick Bay's go on warships, i imagine you don't want it in the bottom in case of evacuation and getting the wounded down that far, but i imagine you did want the thing with decent protection so its not turned into an abattoir?
2
