The frying pan mounts on the QE's and Illustrious, what are their official names?
3
Prepare for ramming speed
3
You've mentioned Iron Duke being very accurate how accurate was she and how did she compare to other ships?
3
What did the French Navy do in World War One i've heard a lot on the German and British navies but other then Gallipoli the french seem conspicuous by their absence
3
Why did the Germans never use their light cruisers to bombard Leningrad, considering they were used later in the war in the Baltic and their limited use through the war it seems odd the Germans wouldn't try to get more use out of them?
3
Which 20th century Naval commander's career would you change either slowing them down or fast tracking them so they are either not in the command role they are in as they are too low in rank to command in the role they did or increase their rank so they were higher up? Picking them to improve the outcomes of the major events that they took part in (An example being increasing Jisaburō Ozawa's rank so he's in command of Pearl Harbour and Midway)

@scottgiles7546 Medieval armour because cool points

Question inspired by Admiral YI but how would a Navy in the age of sail and in the age of steam fight a guerilla campaign?
3
Assuming the Italians stay out the war after taking the piece of France they wanted and then bowed out, how much of an impact could the Meditiranian Forces have had in the Pacific Theater (Assuming Cunningham still in charge) For example could we have seen Japan trying the decisive battle with the Royal Navy in 41-42 instead of the US Navy?
3
If you were in charge when the mark 14 torpedo flaws were fully reviled what would your action have been anything goes?
3
Inspired by a previous question about pearl harbour you wake up and find you are in charge of the russian 2nd pacific squadren the day they set out how do you try and fix the issues anything goes
3
Do you think their ever could be a way for ramming could be a viable tactic again?
3
@sillypuppy5940 That would be quite an amusing thing to see someone try.
3
The Townclass cruisers (1936) are all considered the same class dispite the fact that Edinburgh and Belfast are significantly larger then the others, yet the Shiratsuyu-class destroyers were heavily modified versions of the Hatsuharu class but are considered a seprate classes, so is their an agreed upon line between modified and new class?
3
Would it be fair to say that the Second Battle of Narvik in which the Warspite and her escorts destroyed the German Destroyers that were there was a loss that badly crippled the German Navy as i have read a few accounts that said that the losses were about half of the German Navies Destroyers
3
Kongo nee-san
3
(HMS Warspite pelted with coal) HMS Warspite; "Oh really you want a legend do you fine, hold my tea!"
3
How much of a help or hinderence was Queen Elizabeth during the Spannish Armarda?
3
A number of British ships seem to have a habit of escaping. Do you think this was a call from the battleship gods that the UK should have kept at least one also if Warspite had been saved where she should have gone regardless of the logistics of getting her there?
3
What would happen if the Japanese sent the Fuso’s or the Ise’s instead of Hiei and Kirishima during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal.
3
Just after the Second World War you've been given an Island and can have up to three ships (So fifteen in total if you want) from the Royal Navy, US Navy, Regia Marina, Imperial Japanese Navy and Kriegsmarine to be made into museum ships, which ships would you pick? Additionally they must have survived the war or been in a position to be salvaged so sunk at drydock etc. and they can't have been made museum ships in our timeline like USS Texas or HMS Belfast.
3
Using their historic crews and airgroups around the time of the Phillapine Sea how would the Shokaku class vs the Illustrious class look?
3
Assuming that somehow the UK through trade had kept Japan out the war or managed to get them to join the allies how would have that effected the Royal Navy
3
If Shigure wasn't sunk by USS Blackfin could we have seen her at Operation Crossroads and just for fun what do you think might have happened to her?
3
I recently saw a video titled "The Most Feared Battleships from the Major Fighting Nations of WW2" and it got me thinking, were certain ships actually feared in WW1 and WW2? Like was the Japanese Navy scared of USS Washington appearing in the dark and the Germans scared of a little destroyer flashing "I am a Pole" turning up.
3
In Drydock 71 you mentioned a Town class concept, covered in twin 5.25 inch turrets what was the idea behind this idea, Anti aircraft fortress?
3
Modern ships use helicopters and in the Surcouf video you mentioned the sub had an Autogyro did any other ships use or had plans to use early helicopters or autogyro's instead of planes and how many navies were looking into them?
3
i think that natural justice comment would be a good drachisim
3
Would you ever work as a historic advisor for a movie or TV series and if so what would be your terms to work as one?
3
Ignoring fuel and other such handicaps, which two fleets of WW2 would you have liked to have seen go for a Jutland style big battle with their whole fleet in a no holds bar battle to the death?
3
What would have happened if the Italians had worked out that HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Valiant had been sunk by the mini-subs
3
I wasn't aware Bad luck was an Obi Wan fan
3
Please tell us about Cunningham's "Sink Burn Destroy" order, when did he give it and was he especially angry at the time and if so why, were the commanders he was going up against someone who had particularly vexed him in the past and was it true he renamed the operation to Retribution?
3
@silverhost9782 Oh no the 28 knots is a good speed for the Pacific i agree, but if you're chasing cruisers who are in the 30 knot range, it feels a bit too slow to me, Repulse who can also reach that speed range is better suited to that role and that was the opponant the two ships would have mostly likely faced historically. I will grant you if you are getting into a gun fight with another battleship you want Pince of Wales, she is better protected and decently armed, but the cruisers could easly out run her and disengage if they wanted to. The area of oparation the two ships sank never had a battleship or Kongo in the area, they only had the cruisers and both ships protection and firepower could easily outmatch the cruisers, so it comes down to could they catch the cruisers and Repulse is the better ship in that regard, Prince of Wales is a good ship i just don't think she's got the legs for the opponant she could face.

In your 2nd Pacific Squadron video in between Kamchatka's constant antics that made poor Admiral Rozhestvensky rethink his stance on humanity, you mentioned a Captain Klydo, the officer the Admiral off loaded after the fleet nearly kicked off a war with the UK and who had criticised Rozhestvensky's command beforehand and nearly made the long suffering Admiral beat the ever living daylights out of the Captain, (Something i imagine he wished he had after the Admiral heard Klaydo had sent the "sink by themselves squadron" as reinforcement), my question is what was Klaydo doing that made the Admiral want to go "I cast fist", was he being Captain hindsight all the time, did he think the Admiral was inferior to him because of family standing and was being obtuse because of it?

I was reading a Book by Angus Konstam titled "Jutland 1916 Tweleve hours to win the war" and in it when the writer gets to British Battle-cruisers the chapter is called "Fishers Follies" and it go me wondering Where the Battle-cruiser idea a flawed one as we have the British Squadron at Jutland and HMS Hood Being blown up but then we have the Germans Battle-cruiser's like Seydlitz which took a pounding that would make Warspite proud so what is your opinion on the matter and have you read the book
3
In Drydock 64 you answered a question about the Free Polish Navy in that light this question came to mind. You are Admiral Angelo Iachino on the bridge Vittorio Veneto just before Cape Matapan and you are told you are facing HMS Warspite and her sisters, as you consider your options on facing a ship which is legend for not sinking you are told Warspite is flying an unusual flag and not the white ensign you ask to confirm this and are told the flag is not that of the white ensign but the Free Polish Navy what is your response, Also change the Itlaians for the german Destroyers in Narvik?
3
In 1968 an RAF Hawker Hunter flew over the Houses of Parliament in protest, did the Royal Navy ever pull off a protest liek this and if so when and why?
3
Admiral Yi vs Admiral Nelson who would win in a fair navel battle
3
After Pearl Harbour and Midway Congress decides to ignore the Navies request for Carriers and want more battleships how would this have effected the Pacific war and how would the US Navy after head-slapping at Congress interfering in their affairs again respond to these suggestions and how long will it be before they go fetch the mountain lions to get Congress in line
3
The answers to your questions are 1) Yes love them. 2) And yes i would please, i think they'd be quite fun.
3
Could you tell use about the Naval units that helped the Belgium army at the Battle of the Yser?
3
Assuming the Graf Zepplin was in a port that the allies capture in late 1944 what would they have done with it, try and use it in the pacific or in operation crossroads?
3
Ignoring the resource and time issues which ships that Germans made as battleships would have made decent carrier conversions? Also why was HMS Formidable in the surface action of Cape Matapan?
3
Your stance on the Japanese Pagoda masts is well known but what do you think of the towers found on the Yamato and Musashi and the prototype found on Hiei, also i've heard those towers called the Pagoda towers is this the correct name?
3
Drach In Drydock 140, you answered a question of mine about the domestic enemy of the Royal Navy and you showed us a picture of a cancelled aircraft design. What was it called?
3
What were the pros and cons of the Torpedo ram ships i'm guessing the two roles of torpedoing and ramming counteract as to ram you want straight-line speed which means long and narrow hulls like the Hood but to torpedo you want manoeuvrability which the long narrow hulls make difficult.
3
@Drachinifel Thank you sir.
3
@scotiadragoon5974 Thunderchild, Thundercloud and Stormchild love them, though i feel those three names really were missing for Destroyers i mean they fit so well
