@mood1676 Duplee was wrong because people today act like MLK was this peaceful, uncontroversial figure but that couldn’t be further from the truth. When MLK was actually alive, he only had like a 30% approval rating, most white people thought he was divisive and “going too far” and they blamed him for all the riots. Basically you can copy and paste Duplee’s arguments to the 1960s and it’s the exact same stuff people were saying about civil rights.
