  4. i would not agree with you , i saw many cast iron manifold cracked , and cast iron manifold has ticker walls that is not good because difference in temperature that causes stress in material. i had long tube header and because i floored it is burnt and melted but not cracked on welds

  5. it can be monitored on 2 ways: 1. burning efficiency-higher pressure, higher efficiency, and 2. expansion efficiency: as nearer to atmospheric pressure/temperature as more efficient, so max eff will be if both are high: high pressure on the end of compression(start of combustion) and longest/expansion to the lowest temp/press on the end of expansion stroke

  6. it uses fuel too, it would be better to have coolant heater on ac220v and plug it in 15 minutes before drive(i made one from caffe machine, it has 2 heaters with 2x1400w and it heats up big engine very fast, 30seconds for 1 deg of C)

  8.  @tijljappens7953  on any kind of jet engine, only place where gas is faster than speed of sound is exhaust, but because that gas is hot, it has high speed of sound so maybe on some aircraft , at supersonic flight, hot gas does not need to be on supersonic speed because of itself hot temperature it still is more faster than true airspeed of ac(for ex Ma1 for air at 15C deg is 1200km/h but for gas at 800C deg it is at 2370km/h) sa exhaust gas at 800C deg, can flow through nozzle at 2300km/h and it is still below Ma 1

  9. i do not agree with you: 1. 02:47, you said that puls travels with local speed of sound what is 1400km/h, that means that temperature inside of exaust is 101c deg, what is very wrong, when engine works, after few minutes even if outside is polar coldness, it reaches temps over 300c deg, so speed of sound would be 1732km/h 2. i first part you explain how it works on single piston engine, but is more important how it interact on more piston engine 3. you chose wrong way to explain this topic, you should speak about volume of gases that leave cylinder , enters into primar tube and make low pressure behind when ex/valve closes and makes suction in collector in other primar tubes, x pipe would not even mention

  10.  @igornoga5362  do not turn sew upside down, , speed of sound is equal to 20.1 times second root of termodinamical temperature of gas, , so if gas flows faster than 2582km/h with temperature of 1000c deg, i flows faster than sound

  11.  @d4a  that is right except one thing wall ticknes is problem , more tick, makes stress when heats up, because inner part is warmer , outside is colder, can not be heated up simultaneously, but if is thin , it heats up imediately

  13.  @martinsvensson6884  thanks, i invested some 30 euros in this project: 2 dolce gusto caffe machines-used "broken", but if i wanted to repair it i had just to clean scale, but i just needed heaters, i bought good water pump on 12v and 2 relays, that device is remote, i just pull off hose from expansion bottle on car and connect that device on and it starts to circulate coolant, every heater has its own cable so i can choose one or both to work because each must be connected on different plug because fuses are mostly on 15 amps and it could drain more, i use it on big engine(5.7) if outside temp is below 15 c (one) and if temp is below 0c /both)whatever , in 30 minutes engine has temperature of50 c , on second car with small engine i made permanent system with 4 diesel heaters that help to heat up coolant when engine is started, they drain 70amps, and speeds up switching from petrol to lpg for 30-50%

  22.  @20somthingrealestate  20:1 is overall a/f in diesel engine, did not know?, it works with lot of air, so exhaust gas is colder than from petrol engine, all my notes have point with video because video is incomplete, it explain only one smaller part of exhaust flow, so you should educate yourself , because your knowledge about this topic is more incomplete than this video

  23.  @20somthingrealestate  you speak about race diesel engine? who drives diesel as petrol,btw,800 f is about 420 c, and you think it is big deal,petrol engine has that temperature on idle,if we speak about highly modified tuned diesel engine,take a look on gale banks channel,he made ultimate engine that works with 14:1 a/ f ratio at top power, so diesels for general use have half exh temperature of petrol engines for same powre rating and way of use,and second btw do not tell me to learn english because if try to speak in my language,you would sound like bigger ignoramus than you are

I deal with aircraft models with 2-stroke glow engines, 4ccm and I was thinking about a different exhaust with an exhaust valve that would limit the flow of exhaust gases as a function of efficiency: I noticed that with the oem exhaust the engine consumes a lot of fuel in all modes, especially at idle up to 50 % of power, so I put a 2-3 cm long pipe with a smaller diameter on the exhaust opening, and with that I significantly reduced fuel consumption at lower powers, but I also limited the max power by 20%, so it would be good to have a valve that would open at full throttle

  29.  @bennyz1971  but on idle, even with higher cr, in combustion chamber is small amount of mixture so pressures on tdc will not be too high, big stress on engine will start on low rpm and wide open throttle(high pressure on tdc and low oil press because low rpm)

  33. what did you work on aircraft?, there are 2 magnetos, each gives spark on one plug on each cylinder , so if one die, other gives spark on second plug, there is ground engine check-magneto check where at some higher rpm , unplug one magneto and rpm must drops for some rpm(200) both magnetos are checked

  48. 3:50 yes it can be ignited two times, that was told in chrysler: first time to burn most of fuel mixture, second time in exhaust stroke to ignite and burn rest of unburned fuel mixture, that is why 2005. 300c 5.7 has 2 spark plugs, but it can be rearranged to give spark at same time, and that has 1% better fuel economy
