Uncontacted tribes are uncontacted only directly by non-tribal societies, but they ARE contacted by other tribes, which in turn have contact with non-tribal inhabitants of the region

  5. That is why we should try to reduce the fertility in the world even more, so that the population stops growing before the world warms so much. Lower population will be easier to feed, and less people will suffer and die. Smaller amount of habitable land means lower amount of population will be sustainable

  6. Well, it is mostly in groups older than 50 years old in which Lithuania and other former USSR states have a huge women/men ratio. In younger ages the ratio is very close to 1. So... if you like to date grannies... I am not judging you, of course!

Second of all, most people in Russia and in Moscow had absolutely no say in the decisions like that. Such title induces plenty of xenophobic responses.

  15. Civilization in the Andes started 6000 years ago or so, same with Mesoamerica. And Northern America and Amazonia had some smaller civilizations in the past too, usually Eurasian diseases decimated them, and by the time direct contact with them occured, they were reduced to "small tribes"

  21. @Vincent Jackson no, current territory os Russia had less population in 1910, even less than 100 million people. 160 million seems to be a number which includes a lot of other territories which were in Russian Empire back then. Current Russia's territory population peaked in 1993. You should also look into statistics of RSFSR and USSR population. The biggest fall was dues to ww2, and the population was growing from 1945 to 1990s. Only ignorant westerners as always prefer to blame USSR than to look at real numbers

The mortality of kids younger than 5 was insanely high before modern vaccines and antibiotics, and is still very high in those developing nations, which have little access to modern medicine, and yeah, among "contacted" hunter-gatherers too, so I bet uncontacted ones have the same problem.
