How is the 2019 government not a Brexit government when Boris Johnson withdrew the whip from 21 Tory MPs in July 2019. Under what circumstances didn't the government want to Leave? Evidence!!

  19. Nice one, BUT you forget that the UK has made a bi-lateral agreement with Rwanda, but the agreement with France - the EU migrant policy of 2020 - was torn up when the UK left the EU. France has no responsibility to stop migrants crossing the channel. Come on, you knew what you were voting for in 2016.

  28.  @PiecesMissing  Two points: firstly, the ECtHR is the court of the 47 members of the Council of Europe. The UK voted to leave the EU, didn't it. The EU has its court - the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), which we did leave. Secondly, when it comes to immigration, the ECHR's role is often misunderstood. It doesn’t dictate a country’s immigration policy or force countries to take in migrants. Instead, it ensures that when immigration policies are enforced, basic human rights are respected. It is the job of UK government to protect the borders!

Another inquiry could take years, and by then, a new government could come in and fail to act on that one too. It's not about more reports, it's about the political will to implement the changes already identified. The real issue is accountability – why hasn't the government taken action on the findings from the last inquiry to protect children? The focus should be on immediate, tangible change rather than more delay.

It is a simplistic gloss on more complex ideas he wrote in an excellent essay in 1941. In The Lion and the Unicorn , Orwell describes the absurdities of both the Left and the Right. Reading it now gives an insight into the peculiarities and insularities of Brexit, and of the ensuing culture wars. Orwell would have found GB News a hoot!! It embodies the small mindedness of the English: In England all the boasting and flag-wagging, the “Rule Britannia” stuff, is done by small minorities .

Gramsci used the term common sense with the empasis on COMMON sense, the "herd mentality" so to speak, whereas the English usage emphasises common SENSE: that it makes sense . The "common sense" I see here is the former, which again Gramsci says is a chaotic aggregate of disparate conceptions, and one can find there anything one likes . Or in other words, misinformation!
