  19. 12T motor; well there's yer problem right there. It needs a motor with less turns on the com. 12 turn motors are for the high end RC trucks; Traxxas, Losi or Team Associated. Not to mention, you can tell just by looking at it that the motor itself is cheesy cheap. High end RC motors aren't factory sealed, can be torn down in minutes, and the brushes are mounted outside the casing for just this reason. I'd say you got a few hundred bucks the way it sits, but the rigs the pros use are several grand (and up)

  25. Pro tip: Actually, you don't hafta unbolt the suspension or steering to remove the oil pan on those things. Just unbolt the motor mounts and loosen the tranny mount before jacking up the front end of the motor w/ a block of wood under the crank pulley.

  28. Fun Fact: Piezoelectric crystals have electrons trapped inside their lattice work on the molecular level. Impacting the crystal deforms the super-structure enough that it releases them in enough quantity to be measurable by the PCM. The harder you hit it, the more it deforms, the more electrons are released, the stronger the signal becomes. But, just like the igniter on your BBQ, they do wear out over time and simply run out of stored electrons w/ currently no known way to recharge them. Fortunately, they're pretty quick and inexpensive to replace, so no biggie.

  39. Fun fact: 'Saying [object X] gravity' is scientifically accurate because if an object has mass, it has gravity. That being said, the gravitational field of said object is overridden when inside the influence of a major gravity well, such as that of the Earth. That being said, if the object doesn't have gravity, then the Earth gravitational field wouldn't affect it. tl;dr = Electrons and Elecro-magnetic waves effectively have no mass, and thus no gravity, but things like wrenches, flashlights, cameras etc do have gravity and fall every chance they get.

  40. @robertbarfield2643  I've heard of anti-sieze before, but not whatever Ray is talking about here... BT dubs, I always use or do not use anti-sieze on spark plugs based on manufacturer recommendation. If it's a Ford 5.4 l 3 valve, I will use it religiously! But, when it comes to most Japanese applications, you're better off not using it. As Ray once said comments a horse of a different color.

  44. Does that big block Chevy in the Shelby kit car have an E.G.R. valve or did they delete that? That might be half the problem right there because the E.G.R. valve is designed to keep combustion temps down inside the cylinder by introducing an inert gas, thereby reducing the amount of combustible gas, reducing the amount of energy released each time it fires. I've actually seen this problem quite a lot on older hot rods and track cars with overheating issues and they have no idea why...

I can not COUNT the number of problems I've had over the past two and a half DECADES because of this BS.... eyeroll Personally, every time I see them, I IMMEDIATELY replace them with Chromium lugs, out of my OWN POCKET if necessary!
