  1. Hardly surprising in a country where people think they can say what they like. I've heard something negative in the past about single mother's from a city councillor!! The bigotry in these men is a stain on other people's lives. The MP who said the comment in the first place clearly dislikes women!!!

  5.  @davidgreen6490  When the vote took place in 2014 the UK was still in the EU. Since then fundamental change occurred in 2016 when the English took the majority vote to force Scotland out of EU. The 2014 vote was based on being in EU but as the UK is no longer in the EU there needs to be a new vote. The 2014 vote was only based upon the UK being part of the EU!!

  6. Nothing has changed in UK politics even in my lifetime because the rule of the Monarch unites the Kingdom through Councils, Police forces and Government institutions. Until we become a republic then it's not worth voting for anything!!

  8. British people are overwhelmed by the sheer lack of liberty they have in the country. Overwhelmed by Monarchial rule. They don't call it blighty for nothing, blighted with unhappiness!! I have a non-participation attitude because there are lots of things in this country I don't want to participate in and voting is one of them - what's the point in voting when all MP's work for Her Majesty's Government!!!. What makes it worse is many English dislike the Scots and vice versa, many Welsh dislike the English etc. it is the Dis-United Kingdom!!!

  9. If Scotland voted to withdraw from UK, alot of countries, even the EU would want to help an Independent Scotland achieve its goals. Remember also that a Scot who supports independence is like a Brexiteer - they don't care what it costs to leave the UK, they just want out!!!

  10.  The Legend of spitfire Hunter  I won't reply to all points but you state 1.6 million unemployed 1.2 million job vacancies? If you bothered to look at the job vacancies there's many jobs that are duplicated and many jobs are only 'apprenticeships' for 18-24 year olds under the DWP Kickstart programme. Also you fail to mention how much taxpayer money is funding these new programmes/initiatives? For example, £30m in taxpayer subsidies are helping Vauxhall invest £100m in electric vehicles. Foreign businesses have the upper hand where they can blackmail the Government to obtain cash advantages because the Government have to show that Brexit is working. It wouldn't surprise me if Vauxhall hardly pay any business rates because they've done a nice deal with Cheshire West Council just to keep their car plant open at the expense of the residents. Many British companies cannot trade freely with European countries so they have reloacted to the EU and taken business and jobs with them which you forgot to mention. Pigs are being shipped to Netherlands and ROI to be butchered only for the meat to be sent back to UK for sale helped along by Government subsidies. UK will be joining CPTPP ( this is almost a completed agreement) - it hasn't been agreed and completed and we haven't seen any benefits. What's the point in moving goods half way around the world when the same goods can be obtained on our doorstep at a lower price. The list can go on and on!! I've not seen any benefits from coming out of EU. If you think joe bloggs is getting any benefit from Brexit you need to show me where they are!!

  18. Labour only support Brexit because they have to be seen to uphold a supposed democratic vote where the slight majority of the population voted to leave. The leader is a Sir, pro-establishment and they are Her Majesty's Most Loyal Opposition so they have to uphold decisions the 'business' makes whether good or bad. It'd be interesting to see the reactions if Scotland voted to leave the Union because it's a decision Westminster should respect.

On the BBC article (Plan for lifetime ban....) it states:- The home secretary - who will introduce the new laws - told the "the only route to the UK will be a safe and legal route". The Home Office says there are a number of these routes to the UK. However, some are only available to people from specific countries, such as Afghanistan and Ukraine, or for British National status holders in Hong Kong. The information is there. Ukrainians can even arrive in the UK from a flight without a Visa and claim asylum. How safe is that??? Remember many refugees don't have any documentation so cannot travel by these methods. There's nothing illegal about people crossing the Channel in dinghies to land on UK shores and claim asylum!!!

  44. If I lived in Scotland and there was a vote on Independence, I would actually vote for the first time in my life. Voting is only worthwhile when's there's clearly something that brings about real change!!! Trouble is there's nothing worth voting for in England and nobody is worth voting for!!

  50. The Tories are reactive, they'll only act when they need to. Thought you'd have known that Phil!! Remember also the Government wants everyone to ditch gas in favour of electric to reduce CO2 levels. I don't have my heating on during the winter because I think it's a waste of resources and money. Extra layers is the answer and it's only for about four weeks at the longest really.
