@dougperry6942 I can see legal issues for pursuing fire like that after the threat ended. No question there. But he could not reasonably be expected to get his ass beat unconscious with no defensive measures while doing nothing at all to instigate it.
2
Dang. Officer Giant Balls is damn right. Get this officer all the beers. God bless him for staying in the fight till the end. Textbook good officer here.
2
Something different about getting your guts rearranged right before dying. The second that jackass took a swing, it was time to go night night. Only sorry they had to mop his lunch off the wall..
2
@VerticalMark obviously there's professional tact involved in court. But the fact remains, the service pistol is considered deadly force for a reason. They don't use it to calm someone down or slow them down. They use it to end the situation period. They are trained to shoot center mass as it's the largest part of the body with organs you will not continue to walk with if shot in. The baton and tazer are designed to slow down and calm down a suspect. The gun is designed to eliminate a deadly threat that won't calm down and comply. Now, one can certainly choose to shoot anywhere, so long as shooting is justified, but deadly force is used to cause deadly damage when needed. You then render first aid if possible until EMS arrives as you still want to do all you can to save the life in front of you even after being forced to shoot.
2
@Mike_Cosentino Hey, I hear you. My step dad was tazed and choked in the middle of a diabetic emeregency because he was not in his right mind (of course) was a bit combative. Mind you this all took place as he was prone in a recliner at home. He ended up literally getting $15 for a settlement after lawyer fees. All that said to say I don't blindly support all law enforcement. I support good law enforcement.
2
100% But you still wanna put the odds in your favor as much as possible. Not being a bad guy, hanging out where bad guys hang out, etc...is the number one way to tip those odds way in your favor. Now, living in places that are just riddled with poverty and thus crime is kinda beyond one's control a lot of times, but do all you can to live a good life and surround yourself with good people.
2
Good way for them to not find the gun...is to not carry the gun.
2
Man, 14 seconds in a situation like that is enough time for everyone to get shot dead.
2
@AlkalineGamingHD Can't really blame the cop on that one. Hold the perp at bay, when you see the lights...holster and get down. Also, describe yourself to dispatch so they can relay the info. But most of all, make sure you aren't holding the gun when they get out.
2
I can't see any threat of great bodily harm or death, perhaps UNTIL they fought over the gun. But the gun was not legally necessary at any time. I'd argue even after the fight, Chet was falling away and not pursuing the weapon any more prior to being shot. I don't think this guy has a leg to stand on.
2
On the flip side, Chet was unwise to try grabbling it. He should have backed away and let the police handle it. Both are in the wrong, and it resulted in a needless death.
2
My favorite term for em! lolol! If you ever watch them get released it's legit like a missile being launched at the perp hahah
2
@StormyPeak Bystander effect is real. Important to make sure you don't fall in to it.
2
Yuuuup. Shows extreme premeditation. Going the distance of getting up extra early and waiting at someones house. No explaining that away. Dude got a piece of lead and probably an attempted assault charge on top of it.
2
Especially today when physical violence is perfectly acceptable morally from one side. Both are absolute assholes here and I hope both learned a good lesson. Karen not to be a jerk, and the delivery person not to be a racist.
2
I'm no expert by any means, but I feel like trying to have the conversation with him would've been much better. "Why do you think you dad hates you? What can we do to help fix that situation? We can work toward that, but the knife has to be dropped first..." and so on...
2
Love watching bad guys take freedom pills! Talk about a HIGH pressure situation though! Innocents EVERYWHERE on foot, and possibly in cars...well done officers.
2
This reminds me of a time in my early 20's when my cousin and I purposely tossed bottle rockets in the air in an effort to get a few to shoot in to the carport of a neighbor my cousin didn't care for. It ended up getting moderately violent. I look back and wish I could go punch myself in the face for that cause it could have been a LOT worse than it was.
2
@ Oh not doubt. 100% I should have worded that differently. More in a CYA as in if you have no choice but to defend. But if you CAN walk way and keep your mouth closed...1000% of the time do it. Whole heartedly agree.
2
Oh mylanta I've been shot! 😂😂😂
2
@crowe6961 I hear ya. Speaking strictly from a law standpoint. You also gotta take street justice in to account with your ego too. You might cross someone who doesn't give a crap about the law and does this.
2
She knew where it was at and likely why it was there. She went straight to it. Not an ideal defensive weapon, but it fortunately did the job here.
2
I think anyone but Jesus himself would be letting a colorful word or two go.
2
That is capital murder if there ever was one. Point blank calmly shot the dude in the side of the head, and then once more in the back of the head to finish him. Death penalty for this asshole.
2
If you aren't directly involved in a police interaction...don't insert yourself in to it like this bonehead woman. That just gets you in trouble or possibly shot on accident. Let them do their job and keep yourself safe.
2
@AleySoundz Eh...I've seen a LOT of female officers get absolutely destroyed by men. Unfortunately it's a common occurrence if they don't have a partner with them. This cop is an absolute badass and, as I said, fed those words back to me for once. I'd be honored to have her as a partner if I were a cop. Women are a HELL of a lot better than me at a LOT of things as a man. Giving birth, thinking through things before acting more often than not, having the God given intuition to tell us men when something is not a good idea when we are immediately ready to jump in. I'm a married man, so I have seen first hand just how fucking awesome women are. Don't bring the misogyny shit here. Women are better than men at a lot of things, men are better than women at a alot of things. Just so happens when it comes to going toe to toe with grown men trying to harm you...men tend to be better at it naturally. SOME women, like this officer, are the exception. And God bless em.
2
100% This video can be a textbook example of well prepared, well executed, very practiced self defense.
2
Man thought he had a soft target. Nuh uh! GOD I love watching punks get put in their place
2
I'm not gonna say you shouldn't ever go out and have fun...but certain places attract certain types of people. For you and your family's sake, just avoid those places. Nothing good happens way late at night, and nothing good happens at bars. Be smart folks.
2
150% You should NOT be carrying a gun if you can not keep your ego in check. For the safety of everyone around you.
2
Firing is certainly last resort, but this dude already put a barrel in her face and (not that it matters after the barrel is pointed at ya) his finger is on the trigger. A well placed head shot or a few center mass would have been perfectly justified. She was plenty close enough for a nice head shot I'd think to fully end the threat. Either way, she's alive and unharmed...he's a scum bag who will hopefully end up in prison. It was a good enough ending.
2
@stevenhale2935 "If I didn't trust her that much she wouldn't be my wife in the first place." Speaking for my marriage here...It has never been a matter of trust. It's always been a matter of respect. I, personally, don't even want my wife to have to wonder what's happening. Being alone in a car with another woman naturally leads to that wonder. Whether you trust or not. I simply prefer her mind to confidently be at ease at all times. And she mine. Same reason I don't vent to women, text or inbox other women (without her CC'd), etc. And it's out of respect for that woman and her S.O as well. I don't even want to be part of what could even be perceived as infidelity in another relationship. Pure and simple.
2
Don't fight at all ever unless it's in defense. Just stay in your car. If need be call to police as you drive to safety.
2
Real hard one. 75 years old. A knife is just as sharp in the hands of a 75 year old as it is a 25 year old, but I think some additional measures could have been taken, and she certainly couldn't have moved as fast as a youngster...but she also never should have been waving knives around.
2
So perp has knife, perp refuses to drop knife, perp runs from cops with knife in hand, perp refuses to heed countless commands to drop knife and stop running, perp gets tased as cops cpukd have easily been stabbed in a hand to hand...and the cops are at fault?
2
I...was too happy when I heard she rewarded the scum bag with a forever box.
2
I'll never understand why someone puts themselves in these situations.
1
As we have figured out since, no guns in this scenario were legal to begin with...but this is a prime example of why you MUST remain of a sane SOBER moral mind if choosing to carry. Alcohol and guns don't mix well. You already make stupid choices when drunk, guns create permanent choices. Alcohol and guns create permanent stupid choices. Just don't do it.
1
Your family does not deserve to live forever without you because you wanted to win a meaningless fight instead of be with them. Be a man and make sure your wife and children don't lose you forever over something so stupid.
1
General lesson: If you find the need to film yourself holding your gun for online clout...you should not have a gun. If you ever at all think it's cool to point your gun in any general direction that your head is located in...get rid of your gun.
1
I'm fully aware if you find yourself trying to ram your truck through an impound fence...you aren't making good choices in life anways...but how the heck does one think they could possibly get away with it?
1
"He don't have a gun!!" What, they were supposed to wait till the man was inside with hands around his daughters throat? The sheer and utterly ignorance man... I'd be planning to move away from this neighbor ASAP.
1
I do also have to agree with the weed thing. No real reason the guy should have to be detained for weed flakes or weed in general. That's just nonsense.
1
I'm no expert...but that was a cluster you know what if I ever saw one...I can't imagine why THAT may cops needed to be in such a small place, guns drawn no less. All it did was create more danger.
1
For sure. They had no choice given the details, but you always prefer to take em alive if you have a chance. But you are also gonna make sure you go home at night 100% of the time.
1
That....is a place you'd never anticipate having to use your firearm....
1
Talk about right place at the right time. Glad this lady was able to roll right up to help and get to a safe place.
1
I know they had no choice but to at least try to save him...but with that hole punched right in the center...damn near right in the heart...he was a goner before his back hit the ground. Sucks, but he made the choice.
1
Gentleman's Club...that's your first problem. No good comes from those places. Ever.
1
There was a time I was one of those "WHY SHE SCREAM SO MUCH!" types... Her damn life was in danger. She was screaming as a biological response. But she still handled business.
