Not until the world moves on from religious bigotry unfortunately.

Yes

Create a logistical nightmare, sensible.
4
@Will-Alee Many of the ferry pilots that took aircraft from the factories to the RAF airfields were women.
4
@Angry.General1461 We have armed police when we need them. Military stocks do appear to have been allowed to drop too low though if rumours are correct.
4
Lol. It is an attack sub not a boomer. Muppet.
4
We don't really need nuke carriers. I would take more T45's but even the US are now building frigates. Two or three more Astute's would be nice though.
4
@PinkPoo Respect because they have a history of outstanding bravery and service to our country.
4
Don't be so lazy and go look for it, it's out there.
4
They are not flown by the air force.
3
@Lewisloui Agreed.
3
@johnallen7807 The defence secretary and previous defence secretary were both military.
3
CHRISTIAN KNIGHT Trouble is Ukraine does not operate Typhoon or Western helicopters.
3
@johnallen7807 Just a nickname people gave me. I am sick of deniers like you who constantly undermine efforts to control Covid. There is ample evidence from around the world of the effectiveness of facemasks, but you continue to put lives at risk with your drivel.
3
@asmaar566 It does, I suspect there might have been a motive behind the OP though.
3
You are thinking of the Sukhoi.
3
They are not 😟 I just hope we do the decent thing by those who helped us while we were there.
3
@johnlee3899 Return of the press gang ;)
3
Brilliant. I will have to look out for this. Love the Hurricane but I had no idea there was an airworthy two-seater.
3
Vastly overrated EMP
3
@crystalawen Yes I can think for myself, it's why I don't roll over to every crackpot conspiracy theory.
3
Soldiers often wear ballistic specs anyway and have prescription versions if needed.
3
I wonder if these would fit areas allocated for 30mm guns on warships? Would be a nice upgrade for the carriers.
3
There are more important things for the RN to spend its defence budget on than nuclear powered carriers, like a few more attack submarines.
3
@Then.72 Any ship can be sunk by one torpedo, nuclear powered or not. The after effects may be disastrous, but they are perfectly capable war fighting machines.
3
@EthanThomson That is what I thought. It might still be worth supplying Banshee (with the supersonic Rattler sub-drone) to Ukraine though. If nothing else it would draw fire from S300/400 systems and could be "enhanced" to simulate an SU-24 on radar.
3
Brett Mitchell Only four of those ships are actually RN vessels. Let's say they were; three T45s and three T23s. A T45 has 48 VLS tubes and CAN carry 8 obsolete Harpoons (neither of the ships in the current deployment has them, though one has provision to). A T23 has one 32 cell VLS for self defence Sea Ceptor only. A US CSG has between three and five support ships comprising 1-2 Cruisers and 2-3 destroyers. The Ticonderoga cruiser carries 2 61-cell VLS launchers plus eight Harpoon. An Arleigh-Burke destroyer has either a 90 or 96 cell VLS system and may carry two Harpoon. Fully kitted a UK CSG would field 48 Harpoon (doubtful we still have that many launchers), 144 full VLS tubes and 96 self-defence VLS tubes. The smallest US CSG could field 12 Harpoon and 300 full VLS tubes. That's without factoring in the carriers, where a US CSG has E2-C Hawkeye AEW aircraft and does not rely on helicopter to spot incoming threats!
3
Still don't understand why they are fitting a 5" gun to a dedicated ASW platform. A smaller calibre multi-purpose gun would have been better and maybe allowed for an increase in VLS cells. No way will they risk one of those for gunfire support.
3
@gregoryhouse5240 Yawn
3
@stevenmorris3181 I rest my case
3
Not wise if they are likely to fall into Russian hands.
3
Probably because AI is insufficiently developed to do the job?
3
Stingray torpedoes.
3
@Bite_Me_MF Rot. Tradition and progress are not mutually exclusive.
3
@linnetcooke5967 Yes they do. What I meant was twofold. First, that the funding comes from the Treasury's contingency fund and not the defence budget. Second, that they do actually replace the kit we have donated and don't just leave our armed forces short.
3
@SplurbBat I have no problem with us paying to help the Ukrainians, I just want to be sure that the money is not coming from the defence budget.
3
How about giving people time to read the captions?
3
Have to ask why? I love the KC135 but many are older than I am!
3
NATO
2
@davidhouseman4328 You can, if you have AWACS up 24/7. What worries me is the surprise cruise missile strike on our radar sites from an SSGN. Even if they are detected there is no way that a QRA could be on station in time to intercept. Then we are blind and reliant upon NATO AWACS cover.
2
@goranmarkovic6002 We are talking about the Mig 25 back in the 1980's. The only means of delivering a wide area EMP pulse was a high altitude nuclear explosion. Even now, start knocking out long range radar systems with EMP and the only conclusion is that you are about to launch an ICBM strike.
2
@trs4u I was thinking the same thing. Some vehicles are fitted with hostile fire indicators that use sound detection. Whether they would be capable of detecting drones though is beyond my knowledge.
2
@moritamikamikara3879 It's a US weapon, so yes.
2
Heightist
2
@romeisfallingagain Almost 5'9" so hardly short.
2
@jb894 Repeat, in what way?
2
Yes, you are.
2
Support to Norway.
2
Produced from coal.
2
I hope not, I'm happy for my tax money to be used to help Ukraine.
