@nigelbrooks5235 You cannot argue MSM should have right wing elements while at the same time calling for left wing elements to be dropped by GB News.
2
@23715 Not as a mass, no.
2
@toolatehello3345 Geography not your strong point?
2
Another Muppet who thinks Conservatives are hard right.
2
Energy from abroad rarely exceeds 10% of demand from France, Netherlands, Belgium and Norway combined. We would just fire up a couple of coal plants in response.
2
@timhull8664 Nope, but some people are rather silly. If you choose to drink yourself to death or smoke that is your choice. They banned public smoking to reduce the dangers of passive smoking to others. If you choose not to take preventative action to avoid contracting covid then you risk others. THAT is not acceptable.
2
@timhull8664 Why complicate a simple problem? Either you care about others or you do not.
2
@rejointheeu1779 Rather dumb comparison. One relies on hard work the other is pure chance.
2
@rejointheeu1779 That's your opinion and you know what they say about opinions?
2
@rejointheeu1779 So you are basing the entire economic future of the country on the immediate after effects of leaving a trade body?
2
@rejointheeu1779 As I said, short-termism. Just accept the fact that we have left and embrace the future.
2
No. We just make it plain that anyone entering the UK illegally forfeits their chance of gaining British citizenship.
2
@garrywynne1218 Exactly. Major knew that there was a good chance the people of the UK would have voted no, therefore he denied us the vote.
2
Such a shame. There was a time when I wouldn't have even considered the idea of advertising on the BBC.
2
@philipsmith5692 Can be yes, but that does not mean they will be.
2
All rather immature. The UK has subsumed EU standards (or International standards as applicable) into law and both parties recognise those standards. As long as goods are manufactured according to ISO 9000 audit, there should be no restrictions necessary. When the UK reverts to British Standards then transportation may be looked at on an individual basis. Likewise, if manufacturers are trusted on standards, then it is a short step to devise a similar auditing procedure for exports that can negate most customs inspections.
2
Disappointing.
2
Sorry, but on this one she is correct. We know the vaccines do not give 100% protection and even tourists with two jabs could potentially carry the virus. Given that the EU is behind in vaccinating its citizens, they don't really have much choice.
1
The truth and you are seldom seen together.
1
Unsurprising, the Greens will do anything to gain a little power.
1
These are private companies not government labs.
1
Revoke is a bit pointless as this will eventually end and then we have the cost of re-licensing everyone. We could however suspend them for the duration of the protests.
1
Let's hope English and UK people have bothered to obtain suitable qualifications and skills to meet their needs.
1
The British wine trade were calling for this to be made permanent.
1
@seekeroftruthandjust Name something.
1
@seekeroftruthandjust Can be purchased from various sources.
1
@seekeroftruthandjust All part of a manufacturing chain which benefits the EU as much as us.
1
@seekeroftruthandjust Only available from the EU, which are they? As I said, car manufacturing is part of a chain. If BMW supplies parts for manufacturing BMW vehicles they are hardly likely to want to stop supplying them. As for parts for Japanese cars we can always switch to imported parts directly from Japan in the short term. Then establish local manufacture here in the UK.
1
@seekeroftruthandjust All hypothetical. The point is that the EU has a lot to lose by banning exports to the UK.
1
@seekeroftruthandjust This isn't my thread and talks about EU bans, not UK ones.
1
Who would have thought that the Labour party would come to rely on the London vote?
1
Not a chance France will leave.
1
Yes, it ran to July 2021, hence the new decision.
1
@kmay4963 You are the type of Brexit supporter that fuels the racist stereotype we all get tarred with.
1
@ada7180 But you can choose who is placed in positions of power and remove them if you do not like the way they act.
1
@polaris7122 I did not say that they could not travel through a safe country to get to the UK. Once IN a safe country however, there is no excuse not to apply for UK entry through the proper channels.
1
@polaris7122 Who cares, make it illegal! Make it obvious that if you do not follow the legal channels you will not be granted asylum.
1
@polaris7122 We have every right to say who is and is not granted the right to live in the UK. There are obligations to those seeking sanctuary from persecution, but they do not apply to economic migrants.
1
@polaris7122 Who is supposed to pay for hundreds, possibly thousands of court cases? We have to stop them at source by making it crystal clear that they will not be allowed to remain in the UK unless they can produce evidence of genuine, targeted persecution. If people wish to apply for entry on economic grounds there are legal channels available for them to do so.
1
"Their" - you managed to get it right in the same sentence!
1
How long does it take to translate a document?
1
@kennethfishwick4061 If you watch it live you need a license, whether it's online, cable or over the airwaves.
1
@kennethfishwick4061 Ooh, touchy aren't we? Not everyone will be aware that watching a live broadcast online requires a licence, that is why I posed. Never made a typo yourself?
1
I disagree. However, we should have set out our demands on day one and made it clear that no deal was an option if no agreement could be reached.
1
@pmoran7971 "They bonded France and Germany and helped create 70 years of peace in Europe" The "EU" didn't exist until 1992, before that it was a mutual trading body. "Peace" between the two countries had more to do with both being scared shitless of a few thousand tanks rolling over the eastern border.
1
It is if you are a wine dealer/producer

@23715 the general public noun [ S, + sing/pl verb ] UK /ˌdʒen.ər.əl ˈpʌb.lɪk/ US /ˌdʒen.ɚ.əl ˈpʌb.lɪk/ ordinary people, especially all the people who are not members of a particular organization or who do not have any special type of knowledge:

No aid to China, unless it is in support of a genuine emergency. I can live with the current cut, but wish to see levels restored when economic circumstances permit. However, I would like to see an independent survey of UK foreign aid and a commitment to target those most in need. Ideally to projects that build sustainable economic development to the world's poorest nations.
1
VW's, BMW's and French wine are going to get a lot more expensive once the retaliatory tariffs are applied.
1
@vectravi2008 Imports still have to be declared.
