@patrickradcliffe3837 quite so. If the Centaurus was tried and tested it would have been used, but - it wasn't. And this was a modern bomber, being a tail dragger doesn't make you old fashioned. Please tell us Aftastos who you design aircraft for, then we can look at your genius.

@stevetournay6103 That would be awesome Steve; I saw Vera flying with our other Lanc when she visited maybe ten years ago. A vic of three - my knees might go a bit weak!

@EdNashsMilitaryMatters Just Jane is looked after by lincsaviation, plus a chap called Neville Wheeldon does an almost weekly YT vlog about the stages of her restoration. We were lucky enough to afford a taxy ride in her last month!

Ed, this is bad for me. I am getting behind on my YouTube viewing already then you do this..... the comments below assure me that it's worth subscribing though.

Justified, and ancient and comes from MuMu land. The KLF.

It is still there but that part of the museum is temporarily closed due to a leaky roof :-(

@malcolmrose3361 well said, and well reasoned.

@neutronalchemist3241 drag on the pilot, and lots of it, so they decelerate quicker than gravity can drag them down, especially if the emergency exit was topsides, the crew would be above the main wing as they can't fall through it can they, so maybe in a fighter plane no more than 1.5 metres before they pass the tail planes. The poor buggers didn't fall enough to miss the tail planes.. There are enough accounts of air crew hitting the rear tail fins, even in RAF night bombers, to make this not an unusual event.

@WALTERBROADDUS usually the thinner parts of the plane were to the rear - the engine was much bigger than the typical empennage.

Ooh so similar to the Caudron Rafale in MSFS 2020!!

Fugly. Thanks for the mention Ed, I now consider myself famous.

Another great story. There's a silly part of me that wants a combat flight sim which captures that amazing 1930s period with all these oddities in it, like the Heinkel bomber you showed here. If I win the lottery I might be in touch with you Ed......

@pickeljarsforhillary102 so the Tuskegee airmen are a tale? What a good place to air your opinion, I bow to your superior intellect and wit.

Oooh 00:23 - Me 262 prototype with tailwheel! Rara avis!

Good looking kites all of them. Thanks for the 'normal' content Ed as I guess your inbox is overflowing at this time.
