@Tyler_W That wouldn't be a ruling, that would be the supreme court just making laws, which they obviously don't have the right to do
1
No, a sitting president would only be vulnerable to legal repercussions if he engaged in criminal behaviour outside of his official duties like Trump is alleged to have done
1
@madtabby66 dude was a senior member of trump's campaign, quite literally a trump guy. The people back east clearly want someone who didn't lose to the worst candidate ever, nothing ominous about that. Basic strategy
1
he wasn't under investigation until he became president, but that came with immunity. Now that he's no longer immune, the stakes are higher
1
Obviously someone from the right would claim it was illegitimate, i personally have seen as much evidence for that claim as i have for the claim from the left that 2016 was illegitimate
1
You're not accounting for the shy Biden voter
1
only people who like trump see it that way
1
why do you say that?
1
His policies have been quite good, some of them were promised by trump but were not delivered
1
pay for the bottom 20% has risen drastically
1
@winry2357 im not talking about minimum wage hikes, im talking about wages rising on their own. That tends to happen when the labour market is tight. Also what's your evidence for the minimum wage hikes cause inflation take?
1
clearly not, since they did so many times under trump. For issues far less important than presidential immunity
1
@TheAmbientMage how do we know their values are antithetical?
1
under the previous guy, i and many other were laid off. The economy was in the toilet when Biden took over
1
false, he is a special council
1
That's a small part of the crimes alleged tho, Smith is also charging Trump with the false elector scheme, the plot to steal voting machines, pressuring foreign secretaries of state to find ballots after the election and so on
1
calling up secretaries of state and pressuring them to find votes or refuse to certify is not an official act
1
why did christians ever normalize interest?
1
scott
1
he's gonna cause an economic mess with his 20% tarrifs on all goods
1
its on target if you take out owner occupied rent, which no one pays
1
@Penguinzero1 did trump not do those things?
1
that's fiction
1
@stevehartwell1861 i follow a decentralized non-government inflation tracker called Truflation, and they have inflation lower than the government
1
lake wearing a wire
1
that would be dumb
1
believe it or not taxes don't actually fund anything the federal government does
1
@ChimpFromSpace nepotism?
1
@andrewswift2683 There isn't much of a constitutional crisis here tho, president's are not kings
1
i don't think Biden is all that worried of a trump debate, kinda made himself look foolish las time
1
our economy is far from collapsing lol
1
Groceries cost less as a share of income than they did in 2019 according to the CBO. And the stock market matters a lot since most retirement accounts are linked to it
1
@mghegotagun stocks aren't a great indicator of the health of the economy, but the economy outside of stocks is very good as well by all major indications. Wages are outpacing inflation, growth is strong, unemployment is sub 4% and net worths are increasing
1
@mghegotagun Wages compound too, and they've been well above inflation for a year now. Prime age labor participation is at record highest. Labor force participation alone doesn't account for old people aging out of the work force. You're right, the economy isn't good, it's very good and the envy of the developed world. Biden plugged the hole that was created by the previous administration, he inherited an economy in the toilet. Don't forget under whose administration the money supply started to explode
1
@SunwardRanger83 plenty of great things happening outside the stock market
1
@marcmelvin3010 why should a county with less population than a building in chicago decide how everyone in the city lives? Every vote counts the same, and that's the way it should be. You're arguing for rural votes to be elevated, which wouldn't be fair

1
@nickpavia9021 dems won a trifecta in michigan...
1
That's actually impressive. An economy our size growing that much in real terms in an expansion is great
1
@SunwardRanger83 no
1
@SunwardRanger83 no to the trolling
1
How did trump turn america for the good? His only bill signed was a tax giveaway to the rich, essentially what any necon would pass
1
to add even more economic illiteracy to his platform?
1
@Tundra. according to the major metrics
1
@themeangene that would be the opposite of integrity, since there's nothing in the constitution that gives the president absolute immunity
1
@kneetotheface what american values have been abandoned?
1
@kneetotheface people still have all of those things in abundance. What gov policies are nefarious?
1
neither party is stalinist
1
@500dollarjapanesetoaster8 i wouldn;t be surpirsed if all vehicles were voulentarily electric by 2035
1
Biden has been much better than Carter in terms of jobs creation and inflation. He has been much better than reagen too in terms of jobs and they're about the same in terms of inflation
