@wasdwasdedsf the election
1
economic populism is at odds with conservative ideals. Conservatives are neoliberal, which means they worship the free market. This means no workers protections, no unions, no decent minimum wage, no sick leave, no holding the big corporations accountable etc
1
Gimil38 it's less than 3 bucks in most states
1
What collusion hoax?
1
Nah, they've been worn down by constant defeat. Trump has led Republicans into 3 big losses in a row, the 4th will come in 2 years. Assuming he's still a free man
1
going to the supreme court is pretty normal
1
all of trumps vp picks are as bad to the dems as any of the candidates on the left are to republicans
1
when did she say that?
1
because they offered lake step aside money?
1
we dont gotta hand it to the nazis
1
what's an america first policy? 10% tarrifs?
1
@scroogemcduckismyspiritanimal sounds like massive inflation
1
@scroogemcduckismyspiritanimal they're a tax
1
@scroogemcduckismyspiritanimal i don't see the economy surivive such a large surge in prices
1
Didn't they say the raid on his house would guarantee a 22 victory?
1
Why would they refuse to come?
1
@jamesbass9797 No i mean if the house were to summon them, they'd probably just show up. If anything it would reflect poorly on the house for trying to intervene in a state investigation
1
he was relying on friends on high places as president, now he doesn't have those folks to cover for him. This is his first actual indictment, ans theres the jan 6 and Georgia investigations going on too.
1
He will
1
3.4% inflation aint insane lol and most od that is just rent
1
@egobrain6826 I know a few dems who are pissed he's getting indited because they think he can't win
1
Trulfation is a private de-centralized inflation measure and it says inflation is actually lower than the government is saying
1
@seansimmons73 there's nothing in the constitution preventing criminal prosecution for crimes conducted while in office. It won't invite moral hazard because you need evidence to impeach anyone, if there's evidence the president acted unlawfully outside of his official duties, then he should face accountability
1
he is
1
Not sure his shadow looming large is a good thing for R's. They got smoked in the last 3 elections
1
@Parcha64 maybe its just the policies. Republicans need to embrace pro worker policies
1
@notarussianbot9435 Florida has machines and drop boxes tho
1
@joelgonzales8342 biden has drilled more than any president in history, and we're currently number 1 exporters in the world for oil and gas
1
@reconjitz We don't have a production issue, growth is very high and productivity is hitting the 3% mark which is great. Most remaining inflation is in "owner occupied rent" which no one actually pays and other countries don't even count. We don't need people to buy our debt, we can buy our own debt or just stop selling bonds altogether. Also Trump is proposing a 20% tarrif on all goods, that would make inflation explode
1
then why did BMW just declare an EV tipping point with EV sales jumping 75% in 2023? They expects to sell 500,000 EVs in 2024
1
@ronzombie6541 they aren't the onl company to make this tipping point comment
1
he is sadly
1
he's pretty economically illiterate
1
@EricTheActor805 keeps calling for a balanced budget while we have trade deficit
1
@EricTheActor805 it's not mathamatically possible to balance the budget when you have a trade deficit without causing a depression
1
@EricTheActor805 because the 3 sectors of the economy (private sector, public sector and foreign trade sector) can't all be in surplus. The only way for the private sector to run a surplus (which it needs to do to stay out of recession) is to draw that surplus from one of the other sectors. And since it can't draw the surplus from the foreign sector because of our trade deficit, it must draw it from the government. So until we get rid of our trade deficit (which can't happen unless the US loses it's reserve currency status) the private sector will rely on government deficits to stay afloat and calling for a "balanced budget" is basically calling for a downturn
1
@echoesofmalachor3700 what good would he do heading up the treasury?
1
pretty sure she's been investigated on her emails and bengazi, what more is there?
1
lol no
1
sbf's company funded both sides
1
@scroogemcduckismyspiritanimal he funded the R's in dark money
1
350k jobs is pretty thriving
1
@marcodarko6941 isn't she running for senate? But he if she loses again i can see her wanting to be in a low tier position like press sec
1
to be fair some people were saying the presidential records act allows presidents to take classified documents after leaving office because they heard trump say it
1
@slimm420 that's false
1
@madtabby66 wasn't the brotherhood a kind of controlled opposition?
1
@EricTheActor805 of course it is. Over 350k jobs just posted, over 3% growth last quarter, almost 5% growth the quarter before that and this quarter expected to shoot up a further 4%, unemployment below 4% for the longest stretch since the 60's, inflation running below 2% for the past 6 months and the stock market at all time highs.
1
@laynestaley4957 fudging = numbers i don't like
1
both sides think the other side cheated when they win, quite childish
1
