The ID isn’t the problem. Why stop 24 hour voting and reduce early voting days? They literally had a provision in the bill that would let elections be overturned with no evidence 😳

@AndyBCCA there are several reason people would benefit from 24 hour voting, but that’s not even the right question. The right question is why that particular voter aid needs to be scrapped. Why get rid of it? You can’t tell me 24 voting causes fraud, so why get rid of something that conveniences voters? Clear voter suppression. Early voting is over the top? Mail voting that has been around since the civil war is over the top? Are you not aware that Texas already has the strictest voting laws in the country? Why make it even harder for lawful citizens to vote based on something that the Texas GOP even came out and said didn’t exist? They’ve gone on the record saying there was no fraud of any kind in the previous election It’s not up to you to demand people vote in a certain time during the day, or what you call “normal” voting hours. Certain times are more conviniant for certain people. As long are they’re legal citizens their shouldn’t be a problem. And as far the absentee vote, they’re making that less conviniant too by reducing the time where you can request an absentee ballot. This is about democrats wanting as many Americans to vote as possible. How the hell does wanting polling places not to close and early voting days to stay the same and keeping Sunday voting mean they want people to vote “whether their vote is legitimate or not”?

@AndyBCCA who are you to speak to when someone finds it most convenient to vote? People find it more difficult to vote at certain times of the day. Regardless though, what’s the justification for getting rid of it? And it’s not like it’s happening in a vacuum. Why reduce voting hours? Why reduce early voting days? Why remove drop boxes? Why close polling places?

@bl8388 its not environmentalists who don't want to give up modern convinance, its everyone. If we're serious about stoping our reliance on fossil fuels, we must make the transition away from them seemless. We need to make it so no one has to give up living normally. And for that to happen, we must dig and mine and build. It will be bad for the environment in the short term, but it'll be worth it if we can move on from fossil fuels

@daviddegraff5137 woman were given the right to vote by a constitutional amendment in most states. Black women in all states. Same with black men. And what do you mean “now”? This would just continue what was established in the voting rights act
