Watch the Anti Brexit/Remoaners start complaining. Even though this trade deal means continued Canada-UK trade that will be done in the same way it was while the UK was in the EU. With a better Canada-UK trade deal to be done in the near future. Without paying a single penny/cent into Brussels slush fund.

@tomeyckmans9389 You have proved my point. Remoaners said it would take 10+ years for the UK to do its first trade deal. Now the UK already has 53 New trade deals agreed and many more in the pipeline. Distance is hardly the point. Most of the items in your house are made in Asia & Africa & India. The UK's food supply chains comes from around the world. The UK only buys 26% of our fresh fruit, salad & veg from the EU. Next year None EU/International goods and services will be at least 10% cheaper (because we wont be collecting 10% import tax/tariffs on None EU goods to send to Brussels slush fund) and Without a UK-EU free trade agreement Goods and services from the EU will be hit with WTO tariffs of at least 10%. Combine those facts and None EU/International good will be at least 22-25% cheaper than the same goods from the EU. The tariffs charged on EU goods & services will pay for the UK's public services. It's a Win Win for the UK. So your deluded idea that times were good in the EU are a pipe dream that has gone up in smoke. This time next year it will be like getting a 12-25% pay rise.

@tomeyckmans9389 I'm sorry But Genuine FACTS will always beat your Twisted Pro EU FICTION. What are you tryng to disbute???? That the UK charges 10% tariffs (10% import tax) on None EU goods and services entering the UK, which gets sent to Brussels slush fund?? Or that under WTO the UK will be charging at least 10% on EU goods and services entering the UK. which will fund the UK public services. BOTH are 100% FACT. In effect make the same International/None EU goods and services at least 22% cheaper than the same things from the EU. The UK has been collecting Tariffs/taxes on items entering the UK for centuries. The UK has been collecting the taxes on the 46% international trade, so we can easily do the slight increase to do that to 50% which would be EU goods and services. LOL

@YouD0ntSay Under the CETA the UK was Canada's largest trading partner in Europe. The NEW UK-Canada agreement means continued trade between the UK & Canada. With a better UK-Canada trade deal in the pipe line in the near future. It's worth mentioning the EU has not been holding up its side of the bargain because the EU has not been buyin the volume it promised in the CETA agreement. Now the UK's purchasing from Canada wont be included in the EU's purchasing figures the EU will be buying less than half of its agreed CETA spending. Proving the EU project is a failure. Now the UK has at least 53 NEW trade deals agreed. Without paying a single penny.cent to Brussels. That's because the UK is open to do genuine free trade with the world.

@tomeyckmans9389 We dont want to carry on buying everything from the EU. That's the whole point of getting out of the EU, so the UK can freely trade with the rest of the world without EU restrictions. Buying the same goods and services at cheaper prices. Because the UK wont be collecting the 10% import tax (tariff) to send directly to Brussels. Plus without a UK-EU FTA the UK will collect almost double the volume of tariffs/taxes on EU goods entering the UK at a rate of at least 10% which will pay for the UK's public services. Those two combined will making the same goods from the EU cost 22-25% more.

@fitzstv8506 Utter Rubbish. The UK has 53 New trade deals agreed. Yes many of those are Mirrored/Copies of previous EU deals. The reality is the EU has less than 40 active trade deals and 80% of those are of a very limited nature. You seem to be under the illusion the EU has 200+ trade agreements but that is sheer fiction. Only about 6 of the EU's trade deals bring any real financial gain to the EU. Take Canada for example. The UK is Canada's largest trading partner in Europe. Which is why Canada signed the trade deal with the UK, so trade will continue without disruption (until the larger UK/CA trade deal is completed). That information is easy to find from the EU's data base and Canada's. When the figures are updates they will clearly show that the EU27 are not holding up their end of the already strained Canada-EU trade agreement. Canada has openly complained that the EU is not buying the volume it promised to buy from Canada. Without the UK's spending in Canada being included in the EU's figures there is a monumental shortfall. Which will put the CA/EU trade agreement on shaky ground. When you consider the whole of the EU 27 combined only has a Net annual export of 33-36 Billion. Then you take into account the UK used to spend 270 Billion a year in the EU per year. That will put the EU into negative export figures next year. The UK spent 43 Billion euros a year on German built cars in 2018. That wont be repeated next year if there is no UK/EU FTA because German cars will cost 25% more. The same applies to most of the EU's goods and services. UK businesses will look for alternative None EU suppliers because tariffs/taxes alone will make International goods 22-25% cheaper.

@fransmulder9326 Oh yes i agree with what your saying. My point was that the UK at present buys almost double the amount from the EU, than the EU buys from the UK. It's a simple fact, from January 1st that 10% import tax that has been going to Brussels budget will be going to public spending. At the moment 46% of the UK's imports are International. 50% is done with the EU. That is very close to equal 46%-50. Next year None EU/International goods will have zero import tax charged, while EU goods will be charged at least 10% tariffs/taxes. That equals things out. As time progresses next year UK businesses and the general public will buy less and less from the EU because EU goods will be 12-25% more expensive (with or without an FTA) So generally speaking the impact on normal people will average out for the first 12 months. Then prices we pay in the UK will drop. At the same time the government collects the tariffs/taxes on EU goods and services. Yes there will be media headlines that highlight every issue that effects the UK to deter other counties leaving the EU. So there will be a bumpy ride on both sides as we adapt to the changes. None of this was needed and the blames falls on both sides. Mrs May just agreed to everything Barnier asked for but there was no way that original, so called trade deal would ever be passed by the UK government. This could all have been completed 3 years ago.

@tomeyckmans9389 Yes you lied before. I'm glad we agree on that.

@tomeyckmans9389 The UK wont be trading with the whole world on WTO. We already have 53 New trade deals agreed. The UK has a further 23 trade deals ongoing. So your argument failed again. Your used to the EU taking 20 years to try and do a trade deal that has to tick all the boxes for the EU's 27 countries plus the country they are making crazy demands of. While the UK just has to do a genuine deal that benefits the needs of both parties without making crazy demands. The Genuine trade deals the UK has already agreed proves the UK is open to fair trade and there are plenty of countries that want to do genuine trade with the UK. (without demanding access to the UK's fish or demanding control over the UK's state aid and rules and regulation and trade and taxes etc etc etc (the way the EU has done)

@tomeyckmans9389 Again you attempt to twist the facts to meet your narrative and fail. It doesn't matter if the UK mirrored the trade deals it had while it was in the EU. They are still 53 NEW trade deals. The same deals the EU stated they couldn't be done and the EU has done everything they possible can to stop the UK doing it. The reality is the UK paid Billions into the EU every year, with very little in return. So the UK paid for those trade deals while it was in the EU and now were copying them. The EU's pipe dream was to cripple the UK. We are leaving so we can do our own trade with the world without EU restrictions. We dont want to be tied to trading with the EU any longer.
