  28. A Phaser is more interesting. It apparently puts out enough energy to instantly vaporize a body. You could calculate btus required by weight/mass of the body and btus required for average tissue. They make a light saber look like a kids squirt gun.

People would be free from the drudgery of earning a living and could engage in pursuits of interest. Yes it would destroy todays whole heirarchy of wealth.

Its all about profit and return on investment. The box office receipts from these films would argue against your faith in audiences and why meaningful films are a rarity.
