No one wanted that war if they actually had to raise taxes to pay for it, same as now. Thats why Nixon had price controls which we should have now. The gas crisis started under Ford. As you point out interest rates were due to inflation started under the two previous administrations. Carters sin in the publics eye was telling the country the truth that the post WWII expansion was over and we were getting our lunch eaten by foreign competitors one of which was China started by Nixon. Reagan rejected this truth and set the country on the way to debtors prison which is exactly the endpoint we are in now. Who needs money when you have credit. The spendthrifts epitath.

  10. Building a house is a full time job which takes years for one guy if he finishes at all. Actually hired framing is one of the cheapest aspects of house building. Been there done that. Foundation construction is now quite expensive.
