There was a Tonight special about immigration on ITV1 a few weeks back and the presenter claimed at the start that “because Britain is an island we are all immigrants” - at the end he referred to “our responsibility to our fellow world citizens”. I am not an immigrant and all my ancestors were born in Britain of British stock. I do not regard myself as a world citizen - I am a British citizen.

  29. The UN 1951 Refugee Convention should have been brought up to date yonks ago. Asian asylum seekers should only be allowed to seek asylum in any country within the Asian continent. African asylum seekers should only be allowed to seek asylum in other African countries. Under no circumstances should any Asians or Africans have the right to seek asylum anywhere in Europe. This problem has been going on for decades but it started on an industrial scale in 2015 when Merkel offered a million or more Syrians ‘a new life in Europe’.
