But my point was that these things are best handled individually, with planning and understanding of the consequences. Terminating all whistle blower staff whose jobs it was to stop fraud and waste is not logical when that is DOGE’s stated goal. We are acting without thinking and THAT is bad!

Takes time, and serious training to get someone up and functioning in that job, it is NOT easy to find another candidate. Ditto for our Nuclear staff, and other agencies getting cut. All I would like to see is consideration, forethought and logic used in these dismissals. I agree with most of what you said, people do matter! I would love to see something like efficiency improvement companies hired like some private companies use. We absolutely need to downsize government, just carefully, by people who THINK BEFORE ACTING.

If you studied economics you would remember that the U.S. economy does not turn on a dime, it takes years, sometimes decades for the course to change. Trump with his China Tariff war, cancelling chip manufacturing contracts by these price changes, Taiwan is just now starting to ramp up production to meet demand, pumping MASSIVE amounts of COVID money into the economy has contributed to inflation. But you blame the current guy in office, rather than using your brain to determine cause and effect. Why is that?

  49. As a Christian, it amazes me that they don’t understand the purpose behind Jefferson’s separation of church and state warning. Freedoms of religion means allowing, granting others the right to believe or not believe as they wish. Because as soon as they mandate it, as soon as religion mixes with government, they face unforeseen consequences from voters. Freedom of religion will end as a result of Republicans not understanding history.
