  45. I don't doubt what you were trying to say but many governments would seem very competent compared to Johnson & Sunak. However let's deconstruct what you wrote: Thatcher, pursued free market economic influence by the twin wankers of Milton Friedman & Alan waters plus the right-wing of the government like Lawson. This led to the "Big bang" of financial deregulation that has produced 2 housing booms & 3 financial crashes. The "share holding democracy" was a fantasy. She sold of council housing at a large discount to bribe voters & prohibited councils using money from the sales to build new council housing. She privatised the utilities which has worked out really well especially with the water monopolies being licenses to print money. Major: to prove a point privatised the railways & look at the success that has been. He appointed Lamont that led to the debacle of the ERM. Saw the rise of the "bastards" & Eurosceptics like Redwood & Bill Cash which he could never deal with. Don't forget his affair with Edwina Curry. Blair/Brown: Carried on with the Tory policies of "right to buy" & PFI/PPP. Never repealed any of the anti-Trade Union legislation. Introduced the internal market to the NHS and expanded its privatisation. Cameron & Osbourne: brought in Austerity which has lead to so many of today's problems & weaken rather than strengthened the economy. It was the idiot Cameron's decision to hold a non-binding referendum to solve an internal Tory party problem without clearly setting out parameters & after narrowly losing said we must abide by the result. Both he & Osbourne rode off into the sunset to earn lots of money & left the Brexit mess behind them. Now you can take off your rose-tinted glasses & see the past 40 years as not the success you thought it was.
