Magpies are cool, plovers are pricks lol

@davidg1838 So, you're unhappy to be forced to pay Medicare, but don't think it's your right to use it if you need it? It's basically compulsory health insurance, yes, but if we didn't have it, we would have a lot more sick unemployed people that would still be a financial drain on the taxpayer. No system is perfect, but the system we have is still one of the best in the world, and way better than the US system

Any Fly In/Fly Out mining worker will have experienced these things hanging around the mine-site accommodation, particularly when walking down to the toilet block in the middle of the night lol
7
@stantonclark On the flip side, China has possible allies in North Korea and Russia. And the Russians have some frightening technology too
7
@alexanderkupke920 Australia uses the 'E' system too, LED globes can't be put into regular lights, because the reflectors aren't suitable, but if you can find an entire LED light unit that has an E marking it can be fitted

I don't have much interest left in the series, after following it closely since the late 1970's - too much politics, no more locally made cars, being a parity series now, and a fan base that's becoming increasingly toxic - but Bathurst is still a very special race. I still enjoy it, and I'm sure you will too. Hope you do get to watch live! I think 7plus stream it live, not sure if you can log into that, but maybe (Cough) VPN (Cough)
7
Agreed, it's unfortunate that a lot of people treat it as a joke, but the fact is, he was still good enough to make that Olympic final in the first place
7
@tothelimit9992 Other people dont generally get complained about as much as truck drivers, but sorry, i didnt realise this was meant to be a pissing contest
7
I don't find the internet anywhere near as bad as it's being portrayed. I can easily work from home. As far as I know, it's really only uploads that are slower. I rarely upload anything, so maybe that's it
7
The cars have a rear mounted transaxle and independent rear suspension today, but a lot of the cars in this video were running a control "Ford" 9 inch live rear axle. Usually when they smacked a wall the first thing that would break would be the watts linkage, which would allow the rear axle to move around like that. I think they switched to the transaxle back in 2013, when the "Car of the future" chassis was first used

@shaunmckenzie5509 Yes, I grew up in Tassie where the tap water is awesome, but I now live in WA. The tap water here is drinkable but not the nicest. I have a reverse osmosis unit under my bench that makes it much nicer
7
@marvindebot3264 When I was a kid, Coke came in a 1 litre glass bottle, and it would keep its fizz for nearly a week. When they switched to plastic it would go flat within a day or 2. Plus it tasted better from a glass bottle, that's a no-brainer
7
I was right there, it happened right in front of me. I've actually got a pic of him just as he clipped the first wall. I didn't realise what had happened until I put the camera down and saw his car up in the air. The distance that car slid after that was amazing, he ended up at the entrance to Forest elbow. I actually thought the worst about what happened to him and the marshalls in that box he took out, glad they were all OK in the end

Not quite in the same league, but I had a dead stock original HQ SS that I sold for peanuts, back in the late 80's, because I bought a house and couldn't afford furniture. Should have kept the SS and just sat on milk crates for a while ;)
6
If you watch the skid factory on yt, they built an engine out of one of these and put it in an old Skyline/GTR, I forget the engine designation but it was an all alloy Nissan V8. We don't have this class in Australia but we do have 410 and 360 sprintcars all around the country
6
The only way that cyber truck could be registered in Australia would be via a personal import scheme and it would need to comply with all applicable ADR's, which would mean some pretty extensive mods, including RHD conversion (LHD cars 15 years old and over can be registered in Australia but not newer than that)
6
AKA Chicken in pyjamas ;)
6
I live in WA and OS is a magnificent stadium, but I can't help but thinking, they missed an opportunity to make it seat 100,000 like the MCG. Then and only then could the argument of holding the AFL Grand Final there be taken seriously
6
Rhonda and Ketut are hilarious, without actually being funny, a bit like Kath and Kim. It's kind of subtle humour. Very hard to explain, and I strongly suspect that unless you're an Aussie it wouldn't be very funny at all
6
@TangoNevada That's DTS for you lol
6
@x_quinn_x9179 Sucks if you want to top up your tank but don't know how much it's gonna take
6
Forget the ratchets, I want whatever brand that socket is :D
5
In Australia we used to have big Ambulances, too, Ford F trucks, with big V8 engines, huge fiberglass bodies, now we have Mercedes Benz Sprinters, which are just as capable, but far cheaper to operate and way more maneuverable, easier to park, etc
5
@skullandcrossbones65 agreed, I work in this area for the DoT, a “Truck” has to have a GVM of over 4500 kg to me, or possibly a Mitsubishi Canter, which is a 6 tonne truck downgraded to 4495 so it can be driven on a car license. Anything smaller is a Ute 😏
5
Captain Leo Wanker...Trevor dags....just from the top of my head :D Whatever happened to our sense of humour??
5
Magpies are highly intelligent and very placid, and can be befriended easily by people. They only swoop during mating season, when they have young ones in the nest. If you feed them for a while they will recognise your face and not swoop you. My wife works at a child care centre, there are magpies living there in the trees, they are super friendly and tame, they never swoop anyone
5
For his next trick, I'd like to see him catch an African Black Mamba while on roller skates ;)
5
@joannemurdock7899 Not sure if you know or not, but feeding them raw mince is actually really bad for them, it can sit in the bottom of their beak and cause beak rot. I'd stick to the beef strips. My wife works in a child care centre, generations of magpies have lived in the trees there and regularly come down for visits, and a free feed ;)

Check out Glenn Seton 1987 in the rain, not great quality video back then but some great in car shots, especially snapping sideways halfway down conrod straight at well over 200 km/h
5
@BradGryphonn The guy in the video mentioned he was from Adelaide I think?
5
I thought he sounded more Pom than Aussie
5
@tristabella2297 Currently only 0.26% of people who are infected even end up in hospital, so I think it's all a bit blown up now. Mark has done the right thing in my opinion, although I think this mask thing it a bit OTT. Time now to move on
5
Yeah, Dick Johnson was great on in-car, had some of the best one-liners ever
5
The weather in Perth is supposedly very similar to Southern California. So I'm told...
5
I have to side with the Americans here, it is named after the big cat, which is native to the Americas, so, the poms are probably wrong on this one ;)
5
@getreal4371 They did, until 2020
5
1930's Germany is happening all over again, this time in America...
5
Yeah, if it wasn't for the cheap Bali flights I think Darwin would have a lot more tourists. Maybe that's not a bad thing though. I'd go to Darwin over Bali any day of the week
4
@The Aussie Family Only in public service, not private...
4
You absolutely MUST do the Cougar bourbon ad! "5 Cougars thanks"!! Or the Antz pantz ad, if you're game ;)
4
1985, chasing the TWR Jaguars. Probably his best ever drive, he was in 3rd place until the timing chain broke
4
EJ, 100%

Miscreant Mil 202, triple side draught Weber carbs
4
Miscreant Mil I think the LC GTR had a 161, the XU1 did come out with a 186 with triple CD Strombergs (Almost identical to SU's), the LJ came out with a 202 and CD Strommies, but the Bathurst model had Webers. The only thing I didn't like about the LC/LJ was the steering wheel was offset to the left
4
@fredburmeister7125 I hope they never do that here!
4
Looks like a VH to me, around 1982/83
4
Unfortunately the CEO's in Detroit milked the Aussie car industry for all its worth while they were making profits, instead of reinvesting in the factories to change from front engine rear drive platforms. SUV sales killed the traditional sedan or wagon and made them unprofitable. People blame the unions but I blame the Detroit fat cats
4
3:35 you can see the guy at the B pillar unplugging the air prematurely, which drops the car
4
Yeah, that's a good point. I'd never say G'day mate to an actual friend, but if I am addressing someone I don't know, then I would. Weird, hey!
4
Mad hawks fan here myself, I love the jumper, but only because I relate it to the team. I'd have understood if Ian put it right at the bottom, to be honest. I've grown to love it ;)
