sss vv You should definitely check out Secrets of War on here, they have the whole series, and it’s mostly about WW2.
Yea, I think it was a mix of the bushido code and emperor Hirohito was seen as a literal God. Most people don’t know this, but propaganda (which creates mass hysteria) has always been the biggest factor of winning anything, as it brainwashes the masses very easily.
So for the Japanese it was a cult, and for the Nazis it was occultism; the swastika, for example, was a tool for the occult. Rudolf Hess was an individual in the Nazi inner-circle who was very interested in occultism, however, he ended his career early when he tried to make a peace deal with England, then his plane crashed in Ireland and he was held in jail for the duration of the war.
Brutality and sadism is always relevant with warfare. Islam and Christianity were also used as a tool for war and brutality (look up the Crusades), as such with extremism in Islam, when in the 11th century the Assassins were formed, until later on the Mongols invaded and killed them off. Now we have an organization like ISIS who very much resembles the Assassins.
If you think they were bad, during the Cold War, the US, Uk, and the Soviet Union were equally sadistic, using their own citizens and soldiers as experiments for many decades. Nothing has changed, because history repeats itself.
