  13. News from Taiwan. It takes 5 to 5 years to build a fab. TSMC is dragging this out until Trump's term is over. What is interesting is next month's law suit. They are accused of discrimination against Americans. Regardless of merit in this case. IMO if they lost they will probably pull out. There is a Chinese asying no one want to buy problem.

In the US first it was Japan, then Korea. then Taiwan , then China. Now is Vietnam and Mexico. It has been like that for over 70 years. The problem with US is high paying skil jobs were taken by skilled workers and US does not bother to train new workers. TSMC cannot find enogh workers, One worker that quited said TSMC expected him to work TOO hard.

Apple after making a big deal about TSMC AZ plant will not commit to buying from AZ at higher price. You seem passionate about this. My advise to you is follow the money. Politicians does not have our best interest in mind. I gave up on both parties.

This means the US consumer will suffer, because of the big Pharma monopoly. And you might want to do a piece on RICS-V and how US trying to bar China from accessing open source IP

  48.  @venrocking  Actually, TSMC is paying for construction and there is NO licensing fee. TSMC is investing $40B. They have also rejected the subsidy because US wants 75% of its profit and ALL of its trade secret. The reason why US wants TSMC is NOT because of sourcing. But because Samsung and TSMC are the only company that has 3nm technology. Very likely TSMC will pull out after election.
