Sometimes as a historian. A layman is watching thinking, I can't believe this really happened. I'm watching as a historian and seeing the inversion of his fascist salute. Since he is neither the fuhrer of Germany or the first citizen of Rome. I would be interested to ask where he got off thinking he made it that far with 10000 people.

Patton famously quoted what Lincoln said about grant with his driver. I can't lose this man. He fights.
6
Simon, I just realized by covering this man. You provided great historical example to the folly of just saying boy, there's a lot of simpletons in that crowd. Why not just tell them what they want to hear and win/profit from it.
5
@cornbreadfedkirkpatrick9647 it is a great wish that DNA catches up to all these men as it has even the most dexter of serial killers. The only reason we know is bc the us assassin involved got dementia and forgot he wasn't supposed to tell that tale.
2
@cornbreadfedkirkpatrick9647 and the man actually did assassinate people for what would become the cia in ww2.
2
Drinking don't make you not see a gigantic limo coming your way on a flat open stretch of road unless you've been given a ruffie and just passed out. But considering they had potheads raping people, it was an easy story to feed the press.
2
The most important thing that nobody points out. He is the only person with a male genitalia since 1900 on lets say. To use a large amount of wealth to put themselves in a large amount of uncontrollable danger. Instead of maintaining a pile of extreme wealth to do the opposite.
2
I think its important for historians to point out to the regular folk that don't understand. The popular sentiment at the beggining of the second(really 5th) world War was that Japan had super soldiers that had developed a language in bird to communicate with each other in the jungle. Germans were super soldiers who were going to curb stomp anybody who tried to stop them. Modern day isn't made to understand how the vegas odds were stacked going into the war. Both Henry Ford and Howard Hughes wrote fdr letter calling him a fool who would soon be conquered for not siding with the axis.
2
My personal belief is the later as this man's mind was sharp enough to be a pro painter, pro boxer and pro assassin all in one life.
2
He jumped out and hugged the English soil because that was him acknowledging that homosexuals were not constituted for long boat trips.
1
Or be Bernard Montgomery i should add. According to his own memoirs.
1
Or apparently this Arnold rival is on the list as well.
1
And its obvious he did it when he got cheated out of his dream job. We've heard that song and dance with previous traitors of the NSA to Russia. Go biographics it.
1
Jesse owens can take comfort in knowing that hitlers personal hero. Pattons personal hero. Montgomerys personal hero. To the point all of these men had portraits of him would be fried rich the great. Who they just thought was a really awesome animated brilliant mind was a gay man in hiding in history. The original real life tyrion lannister. Except gay instead of short.
1
Patton produced Abrams. Eisenhower produced fredendall and Clark. Hey you should go roll up on the enemy in your fredendall and clark tanks. You get my drift.
1
Everybody get your minds out of the gutters. I'm sure she was his Joan of arc. After all. Eisenhower sounds extremely French.
1
Let me ask you this. Lets move on 80 years down the line to ww2. Do you think Eisenhower gave Patton the first black driver ever to be progressive and because he thought it would be the missing thing and crack the German lines. Or do you think he did it because he knew his friend was a child of confederates and he was trying to provide him with handicap? Do you think Eisenhower knew that the guy he selected would drive Patton anywhere. Well I would start looking at personal driver selection for those answers as to what made him tick. Women and me number 1.
1
Leave out 2. He didn't have a little bit of an ego. Read his diaries. He was straight counting to 4 on the battlefield confused like p mahomes. He knew he would be compared to stonewall Jackson and go down as a genius and he rightfully hated most of allied command. So he took the moment to step off the podium and kick cow manure on his fellow generals. He says. I know my actions will be studied at west point for years to come. I know I will be called a genius. It was competent soldiering. Put amongst sheer incompetence, I'm sure it does look pretty genius.
1
Now if Lincoln wouldve been half the freedom fighter hes been turned into, he would be in a picture of a pine box with coins over both eyes, just like Billy the kid. I hope I've helped you to understand this.
1
Heres the truth of the matter. Francis Ford Coppola has admitted trying to appeal to dual audiences in the 70s with this movie and taking some historical liberties to do it. On one hand. He wanted to paint Patton as a hero for the old fashioned movie goer. He wanted to paint Patton as a tyrant for the hippie war is bad movie goer. More historical liberties were taken to make him look tyrannical than had to be stretched on the pro side of things.
1
Omar Bradley. A tee totaler who did not like Patton for simply drinking alcohol or cussing in front of the men, almost was brought to cussing the British in his diary. He basically spent this part of the war constantly complaining to Patton who he knew felt like him about the British getting their way. Then turning around and playing goebbels to Eisenhower. Thats how you put yourself into a job meant for another man.
1
Patton was ordered not to take a town he had already taken. He wasn't allowed to say f%$* you to Eisenhower. Although I believe it was probably justified at this point. He had to ask the good general to clarify his orders. Should he give the town back to the germans, sir?
1
It was a time of go republican or go Democrat politics. With high amounts of hate and trying to do anything to spite the other side. Black folks, like historys cat, got their 9th and best life from this drama. Not bc of anti racial sentiment. The same passion that makes a modern day republican carry a 150 old Democrat flag to a republican coup. While the democrats scream get that racist symbol that belongs to us out of here. Only in America. That boxing promoter had it right all along.
1
You traded much national security to basically avenge an old wrong perpetrated and had no clue what you were doing. Just thought you were contributing to peace....man.
1
So I just have to point out. Bernard Montgomery didn't have his car tires shot out and dragged into a barn because of Otto skorzeny. Bernard Montgomery got jammed up because brave men tired of watching him hog all the gas to sit.
1
Yes you poor poor anime fool. If you wouldve bothered. Stalin killed 4x the numbers of hitler. Than suppressed it. And let them cry on the streets at his death. Its a great place and you did good to sell out.
1
That was after he tried to carve out the world with hitler, hitler kicked him out of bed. And he brought 15 million peasants to the allies as "im sorry, so sorry" roses. You did good kid. Thats why for every hour of anime. 2 should be devoted to non "no child left behind" world history.
1
Interestingly enough if you watch the credits to the Patton movie. The main historical consultant for the movie is Omar Bradley.
1
You also have to only go to the Patton diaries to hear that this german army is much better trained and much more prepared for battle than my Americans. But he could also tell that they had horribly overextended and due to that was in a position to not do much about anything. He stated. It will give you a false sense of your abilities and they will call me a genius general. No. They were better. Just overextended.
1
You know. But for the first part of this video, I really liked this guy. Throw forgiveness from the religion. Lets bring in honor as more a bucket of water. But. No. No. Lets start a harem. Apparently he gets a lifetime supply of excesses with his package.
1
Also in regards to the Eisenhower letter. Every man thats ever attended west point ever and graduated is prepared to write and deliver that same letter. Robert e Lee had to after Gettysburg.
1
If he makes good pr for that time and place. Even if those ideas about him aren't 100 percent truthful, sure he will. Lincoln has already proved that Michael scotts don't just exist in a fictional Scranton.
1
No reporter ever accused Grant of drinking during a battle. It was the disappearing acts he would pull.
1
And that girlfriend of his just needs some acne cream. Didn't have to get with an anime watcher. Theres surgery girl.
1
A couple corrections here or just things left out. I will be listing them as I come across them. Leave out 1. When talking about kasserine pass. You referred to llyod fredendall as a sacked commander. This is false. Firstly. He was ikes best friend. So no sacking happened. He was sent back to train soldiers. He put an entire engineering Corp to work building a gigantic hitlerian bunker 80 miles behind front line and sat in it. The germans had cut all communications to the outside. Patton was brought forth as replacement bc of the shameful display of preserving ones own life because he had been known as the opposite. Would take foolish risks to remain up front.
1
I will just conclude the whole sad affair by saying that its sad we saved a tree from being cut out of eisenhowers way. But not the true factual Jesus to every American. Everywhere.
1
Yep good old Omar Brutus Bradley and dwight I'm washington Jr Eisenhower.
1
That's how you f^#^@ up in you know doc browns real space time continuum. But what is his name bakuya and he shoots fireballs from his hands. Lets get into something you obviously have more knowledge than my less about. And I've never been courted by any government agency. Theres the flaw here.
1
Presidency. I've always just heard generals do not make politicians as they learn to be too trusting getting them wrapped up in scandal. I've only ever heard of copying the fuhrers highways bc of transport difficulties as an ordinance officer. And the numerous scandals like the grant presidency that he became involved in. I also heard he was not in the business of giving up white male power. To anybody.
1
Who are the 2 failingest generals at what Patton called the easiest war of the century? That would of course be lloyd fedendall and mark Clark. Who were eisenhowers best buds? Yeah. Great general.
1
All of these are very true facts. I learned most of them from both patton and eisenhowers military historian. Carlo D'Este. Not obviously murder. But he will go so far as to seriously fanboy Patton.
1
Let me tell you another story about a bunch of racist generals. Named George and dwight and pretty much all the rest. Now one, had confederate grandparents. And one got put in charge. Driver selection. For the confederate general he chooses the world's first black driver of an America General. For himself. I select a first as well. A young 20 year old single British woman. It turned out to be a stroke of genius as the black man was the one of the most capable drivers Patton had ever had. I'm sure dwight knew in his deep ingrained racism, that if he just did that. He would create a super team. While making sure he was never bored whilst driving as his reward for his foresight and ability to break racism and not playing a sandbag on a rival. Just like booth knew he created a rich black man in 100 years the day he shot Lincoln. Instead of being shipped the the 3rd world to do what 3rd world's do. Mostly not eat.
1
He figured if us grant can dissappear and go drink in a war. So can my black driver if he's doing his job the rest of the time. That was the kind of man Patton was. Allied command tried to force rubbers on soldiers. Patton told his just to have helmets on and knees out the dirt. We should all aspire to be like him.
1
Patton was ned stark basically. And his head ended up on a pike. Who put it there and why certain friends didn't show to pallbear are my big questions you didn't answer.
1
But at the end of the day its becoming a victor or victim to history by making choices. For example. Lincoln shared about the popularity trump does now in his time. So could trump be looked at as a hero for losing washington entirely and exposing liberals who had gone to far both in time and money to fulfill the promises they have made off the back of 2 republican conquerors name George Patton and Douglass MacArthur. Who knows?
1
Also the rivalry with Montgomery has been over emphasized due to the movie. The men actually got on better than history gives them credit. Montgomery would host lavish high command planning parties and Patton would be the only senior American to show up. There was some bitterness about Sicily planning. But Patton was being hoodwinked by his then underling Omar Bradley. Omar would get Patton gassed up about the brits knowing that pattons mouth would get him into trouble. The man who was truly an anglophobe in hiding was Omar Bradley. One glance at his diary confirms this.
1
And get that flag that basically is representing everything that is the opposite of the trump/Lincoln coup out of the capital building. Its racist. Its YOUR flag. Not racist at all. It was a flag defending democracy which got defeated and has been whitewashed to be the bad flag when we wouldn't have a flag if we had to get rid of representations of any racist in history. An invisible flag. Everyone is in the America's fighting over the wealth of a truly racist man who was taught a valuable lesson by God in ww2 which broke him of the habit. So get rid of your money. A racist got you that.
1
A man so racist. He disowned his famous frontiersman grandpa that gave him his stature and endurance for ww2 because the man was Hispanic.
1
Then it's simply getting a picture of pattons funeral. Observing who wasn't in attendance for it. And realizing which group was life long enemies and which group was a supposed friend. Very simply. Patton was too successful. Patton wouldve been insisted the presidency. He had to go.
1
Another fun fact. After every allied general being ordered to dispense condems and ordering their troops to wear them during fraternization. Patton sent them to his troops with a msg. During your free time, I don't care what you do, as long as your helmet is on, and your knees are out of the dirt.
