Today Russia captured 75 sq km of donbass which is more than all of last month. Multiple cities and towns are stormed. Not some forest in Kursk.
4
@Samurai 7 Yep, lead his troops forward - true officer. Clearly in Russian army there are no morale issues then - after all then men see their superiors not just commanding them (even at general rank!) from the forward positions but going with them into battle side by side. Hats off - this is rarely seen.
4
Weakest? That is the strongest army entirely in Europe! Ukraine army dwarfs say Poland in both size, quantity and quality of equipment.
4
Yeah but the foreign legion is melting away super fast, not just from losses but luck of morale. There are some stories of pp having to desert and run away (!!!)
4
They should rename the city after war.
4
@ThomasTomiczek Yes, we will see some creative planning to end the war. Easiest would be to remove Kiev regime but that would take effort from Russia.
4
Russians in Adiivka have advantage of home front. I.e. They are fighting on their land. Thus they know that there is a pipeline while Ukrainians do not. Same thing with other tunes. Russinas have a lot of miners from Donbass. They know how to dig. Ukraine has none.
4
And do let me know, how on earth can pentagon refute a claim when they have said, countless times, they do not know where Ukraine weapons end up? Strange huh, either they know or not know ;)
4
Russians are giving land for blood. Once they have the man power holding the line will be easy and they will retake any land they deem worthy of retaking. You can see Ukraine is simply too weak to win the war even against non mobilized Russia. Against extra 300k or more Russians they have zero chance. Kiev, however, will continue the war until they run out of Ukrainians stupid enough to fight or US says stop.
4
Yes it was DPR forces and just a screening force - and it did excellent! I doubt anyone is in prison. As you said Ukraine had huge numerical advantage. Something big is coming.
4
@ZeroResurrected yes you can. Both WWI and WWII can be broken down to statistics. Even Hitler knew that. Same with Japan VS. US. Only nukes can change this. Otherwise it's stats.
4
@ZeroResurrected no you can break wars into numbers. In colonial wars the numbers are money related. Or a lot of things are translated into money, such as influence. As for whom is the invader, both sides are, in Donbass Kiev forces are the invader, while in Zaporozia Russians are. However, for Russian side, no territory is very hostile. And they have no plans to permanently enter such territory. Thus this is not a colonial style war or war of conquest etc.
4
Russians do not have troops with 30 days of training as all their troops are professionals.
3
Zielinski quietly extending boundaries of Donbass ;)
3
Actually it was even less - for Yugos. They took almost no losses and we know that b/c there were official counts before and after the war.
3
@travistucker1033 no.
3
@instructionalvideos2309 Poland before WWII had max mobilization of 1.8m - absolute max, never planned to go that high. Ukraine max population right now is maybe 26m - 27m. Absolute max. Using these numbers from WWII we get absolute max for Ukraine is around 1.3 to 1.4m mobilized troops. Their population is again and most kids left. So using 400 - 500k casualties per 2 years war can last max 4 years even if they defend on Dniepr river line at the end. If they use women extensively max 5 years. Realistically it will be hard for them to end 2nd year of the war - i.e. fighting in 2024 will be hard without withdrawing beyond Dniepr river by say summer. Ukraine does not have some huge population - the numbers I am using are peak - they are probably a bit lower. Even worse is equipment side - there is not much left that can be send to Ukraine.
3
@bullshitdepartment Well, we know the minimums as per this video - which are quite solid - especially the grave counting. If Russian dead with allies were 35k that would mean UA dead would greatly exceed 100k, like you said, 135-150k. Maybe you are right - we do see UA do not have enough troops now and cannot cover the front. That would only be the case with massive losses.
3
@SakhForester Not just in air - remember 6x artillery advantage. Also huge advantage in number of tanks and IFV. Also in production capability.
3
They cannot. Any longer war means their defeat. This is why they lost after their offensive failed. Now they can only surrender.
3
@carlosproano840 Yes, it feels like wishful thinking on the part of Putin. Its like a small dog fighting a bear. Bear did not take it seriously and suddenly was painfully bitten.
3
@nicolasolton State where only Wagner people live ;)
3
Using Suez as example is idiotic - the Dniper at say Edgodar is more than 10 miles wide - its a LAKE.
3
Like special divisions Germany had in WWII.
3
Well, Wagner has taken super heavy losses but they are tiny compared to UA losses. Russia can hope and dream about 2nd Mariupol but such epic wins are not everyday. Still Ukraine is taking a huge beating, and from Moscow perspective that is all that counts.
3
There is a reason I do not have Netflix and I ask people to cancel their subscription. Also movies and shows there overall are not worth it.
3
Ukraine will loose right hand side Dniepr river in few months and war will be effectively over. It will be a miracle if Ukraine manages to hold on to Donbass, except encircled cities for more then a month. They lost the war already. They can just loose more if they continue it.
3
Russia gained more land in 2023 than Ukriane. Despite UA offensive. Let that sink in.
3
French go home! Russia came back to their roots, kicking colonialists out.
3
In short Moscow can turn off light in Kiev at will.
3
@ZeroResurrected what about them and Korea? Heck more examples! Like Somalia etc. All these dozens and dozens of examples are colonial wars or wars fought just past colonial period. Especially after WWII western counties started to loose more and more of these wars as it became hard to subjugate people and break their will. These are not wars where invader fights to the last man, their calculus is based on loss to benefit ratio. US would certainly win in both Vietnam and Afghanistan if they fought at any cost, but why. US could send to Vietnam millions but why. Same with Afghanistan, US could have kept there 100k troops indefinitely, but why and to what purpose.
3
@ni9274 Umm, nope. In Kherson it was a disaster. Ukraine lost 2 BTG of pp and equipment in the last 72h. There is some indication they try a third time and make it 3 BTGs. They were not pushed a single inch near Popasna - they just taken a new village - Komyshywaha.
2
@paulmasterson386 Russians do that a lot too. However, if they are not recovered quickly there is little chance that they will be - not just drones but everything else. I assume 30 - 50% recovery rate for both sides. I also do not think a lot of these drone drops do much damage if the tank was empty.
2
@danielpetrucci8952 even Chinese take 2 years on the type. I.e. Chinese pilots take 2 years to switch type.
2
Nah, I saw a T-64 smoked by Russian T-72 in the back of the turret - direct hit and only guy in the turret that was next to SABOT got smoked, the other two jumped out. The whole crew is very rate to get all killed. Very rare.
2
Ukraine a win ;))) LOL :))) Ukraine... offensive ;))) As to the bridge that was hit, its not in any danger of collapse and can be fixed soon. You can see in videos minimal damage. Come on, everyone knows that about this "offensive" so element of surprise is like zero. As to British training - LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on, same training as Iraqis had or Afghan troops had ;))))))))))))))))))
2
Reserves are large as you can use conscripts to defend homeland.
2
16:25 - a lot of these volunteers (all???) are ex. military. They do not need training, many spend years in the army - maybe a bit of a refresher, but not much. And then they will be in secondary roles.
2
Bakhmut. Where Ukraine comes to die. The stupidity of Kiev knows no bounds. It will be discussed by historians in many books.
2
@fredbyoutubing nah, predictably Ukrainian offensive in kherson was a total failure. Other then taking huge losses they gained exactly nothing. Ukraine simply cannot go on the offensive. As for Donbass its moving slowly. Village after village. One has to understand that eventually Ukraine will run out of people. They are taking massive losses to hold the line.
2
@fredbyoutubing It already failed as many others - there is plenty of confirmation. If Ukraine had any success we would certainly know it from Ukraine itself. But even they confirm "problems". Russian losses are many times smaller then Ukraine. Russian aims are being realized. Russian stated goals of the war. You win the war once your goals are realized. It is as simple as that. There was no stated goal of capturing land intact.
2
@fredbyoutubing Ummm, the goal is all about economy, military and moral advantage. So I do not see why sane Russian people should be against it. I, on the other hand, fail to see why average Ukrainian should be for this war, which breaks the country and kills 1000s. This war is NOT good for Ukraine - it is fought to defend US imperial ambitions. I.e. Ukrainians and Russians are dying b/c US wants to weaken Russia with them. There is nothing in this war "for Ukraine" - nothing at all. Ukraine is paying the costs but has no gains.
2
21:30 Lets say Ukraine does it all - they cross, they hold, they get some tanks and stuff across now WHAT? Russians are going to smash their logistics... it will be a death trap for Ukrainians. They do not have large enough mass to overwhelm Russians whom will have easy logistics. Eventually Ukrainians will be forced onto the other side.
2
French lost when they fought at Borodino. Napoleon himself knew this, he knew that if they don't surrender he lost. During his retreat he was totally crushed via multiple attacks. General winter does not exist. Winter is as cold and difficult to Russians as to anyone else. Same for WWII, it was not General Winter, it was good command on Soviet part, getting reserve units and counter attacking weakened by months of fighting forward German elements. Again, Russians are as cold as anyone else.
2
They do not admit their losses. At all - re watch the video!
2
The figure of 60k is a low estimate based on multiple units at well bellow full strength.
2
NATO training effectiveness can be best seen in Afghanistan in Iraq ;))))))))))))))))))
2
Only 12 genders? Come on! Woman is defined as 0. ( :)) ) and man as 100. In between we have different genders, so half and half is marked as 50.
2
Well, Russians hold everything but the Azot plant - so 70-80% of the city. Syrotene was not taken due to counter attack. If it was like 2000 Ukrainian troops would be trapped. Meltonkine is in Russian hands. Ukrainians put their best units in Lisichiansk --- reason is political only. I.e. Zielinski is running the show, not his generals. This is similar to say Nazi Germany in 1945. Russians do not need to hurry - just wear out these Ukrainian troops - kill / wound more and more. Eventually it will fall like deck of cards. Ukraine is clearly loosing - it is just a question of how hard on their faces they will fall.
2
US also used extensively "anyone is an enemy" idea - thus women and children were counted as enemy military personnel.
