  9. Ukraine cannot take Crimea as its part of Russia & Russia can defend it with everything they have. Also no politician in Russia supports removing Crimea from Russia as Crimea is seen as Russia by 95% of Russians. Even Navalny said it was a good move!

  11. Russian economy probably posts flat or modest growth. So no worries there. West is constantly upgrading it. As for Crimea it's Russian and will stay that way. All the rest is negotiable. In best case Ukraine gets Donbas for Mińsk. So essentially foolish Ukraine fought the war for nothing.

  30. LOL ;) And what if democratic Russia still decides it wants to fight for its people? Democracy is an illusion of freedom. There is no freedom, there are just shades of gray. In Russia if you spit on Putin they arrest you and throw you into a cell. In the west if you spit on the establishment it is FAR worse. They cancel you. What it means is they take away your ability to work and function. You will soon be on the streets with no prospects of life. You will be diseased. It is hard to swallow for someone to had comfy life. Besides, if west was so nice, why not allow democratic process in Donbass - if they want to be in Ukraine having a referendum would be cool, no? Look at UK, they were OK with Scottish referendum up to the point they knew they will win - now that they know Scots want to leave, no more referendums! So much for "freedom".

  37.  @SICKFREDO  Yes, we see how long west pays 10B a month to support a failed state.... then again they spent trillions in Afghanistan so I would not hold my breath on this one. Russian strategy is to make it a draw. So they will keep feeding just enough troops to make it a draw. US strategy is the same. Thus we can expect years of war.

  39. No, I say that they are almost certain if Russia is threatened. There is no "blowing" of wind with tactical nukes. I suspect any attack on Crimea would mean use of such weapons.

Ukraine cannot get Crimea back as Russian federation nuclear doctrine states defense of the state is allowed with nuclear weapons. So even if Ukraine managed to break into Crimea they would have tasted atom. Finally, Russia can always mobilize. We are years away from resolving this conflict - it also could be a series of conflicts over the next few decades. Same as Catharine the Great taken out Ottomans - 5 wars.

  48. So they attack in Spring... big deal. Even Kherson is not a big deal - its main purpose is to threaten Odessa and water supply for Crimea which they lived without from 2014. Russia proposed giving all these territories back to Ukraine. Only purpose of that land is bargaining Chip.

If Russia drafts they will end up with an army similar to Ukraine, just 3x or 4x as big. Why would they be poorly trained? Their training would be similar to what Ukraine has. Why poorly equipped? and what exactly does Ukraine have - wonder weapons? Just a lot of hand me down junk. Why poorly motivated - just place them in Donbass so they know what they are fighting for. What NK ammo - this was meant as a joke. There is actually few T-62Ms available. Even if there were a lot, its better then no tank at all. Russia is not pulling back to 1991 borders. Why would they do that? Are you for freedom? Why cannot Russians decide their freedom? What is wrong with that concept? Why can people of say Kosovo decide their freedom but not people of say Donbass? Selective racism is showing.
