@xiphoid2011 Ukraine should leave Donbass and end illegal occupation.
1
@xiphoid2011 It is illegal as they are denying human rights to choose. It is not their country - it is the country of people of Donbass.
1
If US did not push Ukraine to join NATO we would not have a war and no need to arm anyone.
1
But but they are hostages!
1
@Warsie What he means is US wants to control Russia. Like it wanted to control Afghanistan.
1
Where is Ukraine asks Putin? Third place.
1
They cannot win this war. They can negotiate peace deal or loose big. No other option seems possible.
1
Well, the west is part of it, no? Who armed Ukraine? Who put a blind eye to growth of Nazism in Ukraine? Who was totally fine with laws that are straight from 1930s Germany? WHO!
1
Control. With missiles there Russia's hand internationally will be very weak. NATO == US.
1
@ingabaranauskiene5889 LOL - yeah they do - sure ;)))) One party one country - anyone against gets 10 years for non patriotic feelings ;) About as democratic as North Korea whom holds elections regularly as well. Heck, I think in NK voting is mandatory.
1
@rchot84 yes, that is correct - we don't really have any true democracies on earth anymore.
1
No, if it was US there be 1000s more dead.
1
Oh they can surrender but they get shot before they get to the Russians. Really, I am not making this up.
1
Who, you mean US spy???!!!!
1
Nah, this is way faster.
1
They already got 1 Canadian general. He was on vacations there.
1
Russia hit on a single day 20 depots. But it did not make the news ;)
1
Why are western hands again in Africa? China should step up as world's largest economy and offer military aid to stop external interference.
1
MiG-21 is an interceptor, MiG-29 clearly not. However, older versions of MiG-29 are not at all multi role as their ground attack capabilities are very limited. More modern MiG-29, sure, mutirole. However, that being said, neither MiG-29 nor F-16 are well suited for a lot of missions within Ukraine with weapons supplied. Most of Russian attacks against UA with multi role stuff is with JADAM style weapons, while most bombers drop cruise missiles etc. Ground attack aircraft take out assets close by.
1
@artmcteagle maybe, Russia have been using HARM so far a lot, as well as JDAM daily. Russian HARM is far more potent as it is a supersonic missile. Similar to new version US is getting now.
1
But they have alternative system up and operational. Why not say that?
1
LOL, no. As you can see on the video most of it is old soviet stuff. Same as Russian videos of blow up Ukrainian tanks - all are T-64s.
1
But they are not their civilians.
1
@Юрий & Ко No one kicked anyone out of Crimea as 70-80% of soldiers joined Russia. It was the most peaceful transfer of land ever.
1
It is obvious that as long as AM does not get support or does not stop AZ advance AZ will break every ceasefire there is and making "more" of them is pointless. Whole AZ sees small advances and stopping these now will put their president in bad position. Thus AZ will continue unless it meets hard resistance.
1
Given time period form 2014 till 2022 - i.e. 8 years I think Russia knew exactly what they will deal with.
1
It's for defense. I.e. when NATO attacks they nuke back.
1
On has to remember WHY there was the territorial note in that memorandum. Initially Russia refused to give Crimea to Ukraine. But in order for Ukraine to disarm they had to give it up - also Yeltsin was a non leader. So Russia lost Crimea in exchange for a base they were to keep there and for UK loosing nukes. Fast forward to 2014 - UK, under US "help" started to take "Crimea" away completely from Russia. Putin, seeing turmoil and possibility of Ukraine fully being taken over US made 100% correct decision to cut his losses and take Crimea back. Also started Donbass thing - with good help of Ukraine. All Russian moves were in response to Ukraine doing pro US politics not pro Ukraine.
1
@Gray_ninja There was no Crimean in Ukrainian possession in 1918 - 1919 - not even close for both WUPR and UNR. If you are referring to "Ukrainian State" that existed in 1918 - "covered most of the territory of modern-day Ukraine—minus West Ukraine and Crimea." Crimea was Crimean Regional Government in 1918. "The first Crimean Regional Government was established on 25 June 1918. It was formed under German protection with Lipka Tatar General Maciej (Suleyman) Sulkiewicz as prime minister, minister of interior and military affairs. There were efforts by Ukraine to exert control over Crimea but, with German support, the regional government remained separate from Ukraine though, in September and October, there were talks to effect a federation of the two."
1
Sure, mostly US could just say no to NATO and also force Ukraine to enforce Minsk and then ask Russia to comply. Simple.
1
LOL!
1
What if people of these regions don't want to be part of Ukraine? Should we force them against their will?
1
@crusadinghours3505 It is - both sides have military casualties combined of well over a million. Ukraine alone is close to a million by now - some counted twice.
1
@crusadinghours3505 You have about 5 wounded per one KIA for UA side / militias and about 7:1 for Russian side / Wagner. Plus you have killed and wounded on civilian side, probably closer to 1:10 ratio here. So civilian side is at last 100k. No military, for Ukraine that would be at least 150k KIA so at least 750k wounded. For Russian side, without militias it is now 17,000 and x7 it is 120k. Double that for militias and you get Russian side under 300k. So together about a million plus. I ignore what both MOD say - these are joke numbers.
1
@GrzegorzKent that is b/c it's filled with poor Ukrainians. Not even Russia wants it. If even Russians don't want you, must be bad.
1
@MacDaddy8200 And did Ukraine ever abide by Mińsk or planned to? No. Did EU ever push for implementation of Mińsk? No. So what was this Mińsk stuff really worth? Nothing.
1
Probably another UA missile that missed the target.
1
So far they asked for food and water for hostages. Not sure how much food and water per hostage.
1
No. Unless you made more then half of Ukraine into such zone.
1
Yes. And clearly it still is. Much stronger than expected.
1
Yes, just like SS, fully devoted to their country.
1
@nenasiek No - only UA side has. Russia is doing well. They have shovel rockets ;)
1
Expansion? He does not even want Donbass and its filled with Russians. Even if Ukraine disbanded its army there is no "expansion". Who wants poorest nation in Europe? Russia would bankrupt itself trying to bring them up to their low standard. Putin would be out of the job.
1
Well, Ukraine is on the ropes - and Putin is the one pushing it there.
1
Why?
1
@nesipnesipoglu8105 At least none related to NC on Turkey (maybe some individuals etc. nothing that can easily be dug out from google). NC cannot freely trade, but outside of that, nothing on Turkey.
1
@teddie7844 So what is the difference with Ukraine? Are minority rights respected? God no. Are people forced? Sure yes!
1
@trishawilson1436 I suggest you look at OSCE report of whom is shelling whom. Its EU observers. They seem to report that Ukraine is shelling Donbass. Go take a look! They have report from today, with a map and concentration of shelling. Why would they have unbadged troops - there is no need - locals take care of stuff & now they will have support of regular Russian army.
1
They were more or less NATO since 1992.
1
Then defeats best army units of Ukraine with minimal losses. Come on, finish it.
