China will do what they do best, act in their own best interests. And that may not include supporting Putin's war. While Russia has the natural resources to support China. Building the infrastructure needed would take time and plies of money to pull off. Something that neither one has at this point.

The one sentence the world never wants to hear. 'We are now in a post American world'.

@enricocamarda9721 That's like the chances of turning a Texan rational.
18
Let's see how long it lasts.
14
The new gov has their first insurgency. Rinse and repeat.
13
The price of success against Russia's ambitions may be high. But, the costs of failure would be much higher.
12
@sriyasodharmma4021 That's better than dying on home ground. That's not a justification, just a fact. We keep problems at arms length. Like they say. Spectators can't influence the game. If we don't take a seat at the table. Someone else will. Would you rather have Russia, China, Iran or even the EU as the big stick on the world stage ?

When wasn't Mexico a violent country is a better question ?
9
If Putin was going to invade. He wouldn't have waited until Ukraine is better set up to resist. Besides, as has become obvious over history. Taking a country and holding it indefinitely is two totally different games.
9
@marcinpajak6252 Gullible fools is the nicest thing I can say for those that voted for Trump. A total disconnection from reality with all the indications of a full mental breakdown.

China is learning that capitalism needs a heavy hand too keep it from going out of control. Something the u.s. could take a lesson from.

Credit is great when things are going well. But, a chain dragging you down when things go tits up. I avoid debt at all costs. I hear that China has a 90% rate of home ownership. With a 50% occupancy rate. It seems that there is a whole lot of speculative buying going on. This reduces the availability of homes and jacks up prices to impossible levels. My area is experiencing something I have never seen. The mass exodus from the large cities to small communities that already had a shortage of housing. Where the locals are getting out bid by a wide margin. By the people who got to sell their homes at big city prices. A new form of gentrification. That will have serious repercussions in the near future. Especially, when these virus related protections are gone.

35's for all of our friends And dilemmas for those that don't want to be friends.

It seems that several countries are having issues with their dependence on hydro power. Either they have way too much rain or not enough. And without a dependable source of electrical power. The entire system starts to fall apart. China, for all it's glistening buildings, can't keep up with it's growing need for energy. The world is under attack from every direction. Natural and man made threats are piling up to a dangerous level.
7
Even reality can't break their mentality. The culture is too engrained.
7
@EzraMerr With Argentina's history i would be pessimistic as well. The desire to amass power and wealth can ruin any possibility of positive progress.
6
@Greatgastly1 Except that the Ukrainian forces are not proxies of the west. They are the legitimate military forces of a sovereign nation. Which can not be said of Iran's actual proxies.
6
Newton didn't invent stupidity.

I perfer to judge actions more than words. So i will wait to see what happens over the next 6 months.

@nestor.koylyak The U.S. would have too in order to maintain crediblity within its alliances. What would Russia gain in taking the Baltic states ? Nothing. It wouldn't fix any of the issues they are having. And would harm their already stressed economy.
5
China has the same problem Russia has with Ukraine. A quick victory or total failure. Their dependence on imports and exports makes China even more vulnerable than Russia to being economically isolated. China has more to lose by taking Taiwan than any gains it may achieve. And their threats only strengthens the building of alliances against them.
5
The concept of advancing individual and social equality has been fought tooth and nail from the very beginning. Yet, progress always wins in the end.
4
@WillEede Well that didn't take very long. Tipping over the game board may not be very popular.
4
Resources only count if there is anyone left willing to buy them. A problem Russia is experiencing today.
4
The road ahead is going too get really rough for every country. How come China wasn't included. Their situation is even more dire. They all have the same problem. They are a culture of one race trying too maintain its control.
4
While the destruction of Russia is not part of the goal in saving Ukraine. Taming its ambitions certainly is. But that could set the stage for some parts to break away like it did in 1990.
4
Nuclear weapons are relatively easy to build these days. But their delivery systems are extremely expensive to build and maintain over time. Which is why not many countries have them large numbers.
4
Its good to know that other countries are also getting tired of the religious privilege system.
4
@Ulysses.S.Grant.For.The.Union. 😁👍

@ArawnOfAnnwn Nobody can say we are some kind of saints. Beau of the Fifth Column did a run down of the conflicts ( both foreign and domestic) the us has been involved in over the yrs. It's in my playlists if you are interested. It's quite a list. Most in the interest of spreading our influence and keeping others from gaining influence.
3
You can't run the world based on the past. It's not realistic to use what was as any bases to build the future. Russia created the Ukraine problem by not being a friendly neighbor when it gained independence. Ukraine didn't care for either side. But, Russia pushed the point.
3
Well, before you can fix anything. You need too stop the bleeding, stabilize the blood pressure and inject some antibiotics. So your patient won't just die on you. And then you can prepare for surgery.
3
@vovac8915 Hmmm ! And look how it worked out. The country has a long history of failed goverments.
3
And how many was that ?
3
Trump was riding high. Then became the head of the suicide club. And has burned his future too the ground. When he leaves office. His use to anyone will be over.
3
A restructuring is desperately needed. That's for sure. From the feds on down.
3
China and the Taliban, are the most unlikely couple ever.
3
Ok, now we are going to start believing economic figures coming out of China. 🙄 😂😂😂😂 If anyone trusts China to play fair in any trade agreement. They are a fool.
3
Give the Ukrainians what they need to win. According to Russia, Ukraine has been attacking Russian territory for the last 8 yrs.

Nin Juh Or lack of.

@soundofprice So you don't understand the political vacuum effect ? We picked up this job because no body else could do it. And it's going to be really hard to quit at this point. And it's pretty hard for another country to screw us. When we are doing such a good job all on our own.
2
Hey, you put in green systems. Good for you ! No, we are not reducing your rents.
2
Recover from the virus and create a better world. Sounds great !!

Why is it that every discussion of this type makes it seem like the U.S. acted alone ? There were other countries, in one way or another, actively supporting the actions against Iraq. If Sadam had not invaded Kuwait and threatened to invade other countries we probably wouldn't have bothered to take him out. Bringing the people of Iraq a window of opportunity to form a democracy was all we could do. And was never a main goal of the military actions.

@ArawnOfAnnwn First off Ukraine is very important to Russia. Supplying their Black Sea fleet has become very difficult. Ukraine has cut off most of their water supplies and land access in response to their support of the insurgency. Ukraine is like Cuba, a pawn to get a new deal with NATO. However, Putin's demands are totally unrealistic. NATO would never agree to such terms and he knows it. He is shooting for the moon and hopes to get something he can take back home as a victory over the west. And what is the difference between NATO being on their border. And the Russian federation being at NATO's border. Nothing at all. I wish these countries would realize that nobody is interested in invading anyone. Such actions are totally counter productive in the modern world. And pulling back their forces to a strickly defensive posture would be the best for both sides. Russia has spent the last 70 yrs screaming about destroying the west. While we have been trying to get them more dependent on trade. Putin wants too rebuild the U S.S.R.. Which isn't going to happen. All he is doing is forcing countries to pick sides. Standing alone is no longer an option. And they are not running to the Russian federation for some pretty obvious reasons. Co-operation is more productive than threats. Something Russia and China both need to learn.

@jimgaston9863 Give me a break. Gop controlled 8 out 10 of the worst states in the country. And 7 the 10 worst cities. You pick out Dem states or mayor's. But ignore some the worst that have been under GOP control for generations. The areas on fire ?? You mean the areas involved In the protests. Which have been mostly peaceful !!! Your pick and choose system of which history to remember is telling.
2
Of course you would say that. That's how all cult followers behave. We certainty can't expect your side too admit you got taken, again. That would be the adult thing too do. But we have learned that you just don't have in you.
2
Maybe because Pirate's Treasure stored here' would just too obvious.

Even republicans don't like him.

@beldiman5870 No, but it will be a real issue in maintaining their countries population.
