That's the absurd thing. Canada supplies the materials, USA produces the goods. Canada buys an exorbitant amount of product from the USA and Trump wants them to buy more?! Canada is fueling their industry for product for the rest of the world they sell to! My guess is the tariffs are a pressuring tactic to force them to sell their chips super cheap with tariffs removed or lose more money because of tariffs. Remember USA is the only protecting Taiwan from China they will cave to whatever he demands when they start negotiating. Taiwans leader will end up getting involved and pressure the chip makers.
