  29. We have nothing left to give. Remember the UK has one of the smallest armies in Europe. Germany is currently biggest with 180,000. Poland is planning an army of 300,000. The UK has 83,000 and the plan is to reduce it to 75,000. What can such a tiny army do to help Ukraine?

  40. There is a big hurry. Western allies, particularly Germany and France, are wavering on support and want Ukraine to give up territory for peace. So Ukraine need a big win to keep the Western allies on side. But more importantly there's a US general election coming closer and closer and if Trump wins, all support of war materiel for Ukraine will dry up and Russia wins by default. Ukraine needs to liberate as much territory as possible before the US elections.

  41. ​​ @roberthannah7983  trying to get gains piecemeal is what the Allies tried in the first three years of WW1 and it didn't work amazingly well. It's costly in blood and treasure and drags the war out. It was only the British invention of the tank in 1917 that allowed the war to be brought to an end. Tanks let the Allies capture land by the bucket load.

  44. They have to stop during winter. Trying to fight during the winter is why/how both Napoleon and Hitler failed in their Russian invasions. During bad winters the fuel will actually freeze inside the tanks of military vehicles rendering them useless

  50.  @dpelpal  I'm British and I'm just stating facts. Look at how Britain and Poland had to drag Germany kicking and screaming into donating tanks to Ukraine. And sadly it wasn't even surprising. The BBC did a really good documentary about Thatcher and Reagan a couple of years back where in the 80s she condems the continental allies as wobbly for backing out of a deal to host US nukes. She knew they'd never change and was right.
