What I want to know is which politicians were going to receive a financial benefit from this crazy scheme .
345
@jayjolley9258 The Labour politicians are not as obviously corrupt .
28
@noelfleming3567 I would not be surprised.
22
Joan what did you find surprising ? It is perfectly clear that Boris is unsuitable for high office .In addition to partygate we have his habit of leaving top secret papers lying about for his wife's friends to read. He seems incapable of sound judgement and needs to be removed before more damage is done.
13
Trish Labour could not make a worse mess than the Tories.
13
@cjmillsnun The Rwanda scheme was dreamt up by Patel and she paid several visits before the contract was signed.
9
S Hussein I think Yvette is always well briefed and she is a most capable person .
8
@NONAMENEEDEDOK I don't need help but you don't even know your own name .Boris is not fit to clean the streets and you know that.
7
@humorpalanta Have you never heard of female equality .The money is actually his wife's and he was born into a solid middle class family ( father a Doctor & mother a Pharmacist) . Why don't you try to put your jealousy to one side.
7
G Wills you are right and from what I glean she is not experienced , knowledgeable or competent so why has she been appointed ? Why has Williamson been brought back when he failed as Education Secretary last time he was in government ? I thought the Tories had plenty of talent and if so why do we get the same old faces.
7
Michael I think Yvette is a very capable lady .
7
Anthony you are 100% correct .Bo Jo is completely self absorbed and has no self discipline .
7
@rtfazeberdee3519 Yes we are all grateful to David Cameron and his advisors .
6
@rossrennie182 the truth is that Downing Street had a culture of drinking and parting from the start of lockdown .
6
@tusharakodikara2487 One of the things .She is certainly a great deal more sensible and disciplined than the appalling Boris .
6
@dalejohns207 Once upon a time Ministers were competent but Boris selected his team on the basis that the more incompetents took the senior jobs.
6
What he said about Liz was reasonable as her motives were sound but her judgement was catastrophic.
6
@NONAMENEEDEDOK I think.it is important and demonstrates he is without honour . xx
5
@Nawitisnae Serco is involved in all sorts of Government contracts and has been for many years but I have never heard of Calder or Langham . I understand that there are rules to be followed in respect of procurement contracts and I wonder if all the relevant procedures were adhered to in respect of these asylum seeker contracts. Presumably the Home Office will investigate all of this now it is under new management.
5
Boris spends all his money on School fees and alimony .This is why guests are told to bring a bottle to Downing Street parties .
4
Boris is thick but Eton taught him how to persuade people that he was a great character who enjoys a laugh and a drink; one of the lads .I think Boris will not be back because he has demonstrated that he is incompetent and can't be trusted .
4
@caroldevine9868 Words are cheap and the Tories are being exposed as very cheap.
4
@garyjohnson.. the lies are blue and emanate from the Tories.
4
Charlie I do hope so .
4
@Me Too Boris only thinks who might compete with me in a Leadership contest .
4
The Golem that is the type of political skill you get from Bunter Boris .I agree it is not very edifying and the sooner he is gone the better .
4
@ozzie2612 It is typical of Badenoch that she can't see the humour in her approach .
4
Jay she is corrupt enough for anything .
4
Keir Starmer is the real deal compared to the Clown named Boris .
4
@jayjolley9258 Yes the political system is unsatisfactory and needs to be reformed .Part of the problem is that people are so disinterested in Politics that they do not turn out to vote and those who do take the trouble to vote do not research the candidates or the parties they are representing . Perhaps we get the government we deserve if we do not take the time and trouble to scrutinise the prospective candidates properly .
4
@ljts7587 I think you have got the answer thank you. Boris can't think for himself and does not understand social niceties.
3
@nsturgeon I think it is more likely you .
3
@traceyomalley3797 Mrs May was far superior to Boris but obviously the Tory Party preferred him because he was better at papering over the cracks.
3
@petyrkowalski9887 she is an honest and capable lady who was sacrificed on the Brexit altar.
3
@rossrennie182 should be partying .Apology.
3
@jonsmith5058 I think the senior people within the Conservative Party have been anxious to get rid of this Maverick but needed to get all the ducks in a row before striking. Partygate is actually pretty serious because it demonstrates to the electorate that Boris is a hypocrite and a self indulgent scoundrel .Those who have known Boris for several years probably knew he would be unable to treat lockdown with the seriousness demanded .How very different to the Queen who observed the rules consistently.
3
Camallunt I agree the Tories need to apologise for the terrible things they did while in power. The new leader should actually stop attacking the current Government and promise to help with encouraging economic growth by way of apologising for lies and neglect .
3
@JOsc4-v The reason for the Austerity was the economic crisis which was nothing to do with the Labour Government as it was worldwide. If only you knew what you were talking about. The result of Austerity is obvious to all and and our public realm is in a sorry state with leaking roofs in prisons , Courts etc .Utterly disgraceful.
3
@drunkengamer1977 A good point .Public money does seem to be spent in a careless manner.
3
@JavaAndroid The population of this country are beyond help if they are not prepared to let Rishi have a chance .
3
@mickodillon1480 I think Short and Opinionated needs a dictionary as apocalypse is clearly not the answer .
3
@garyjohnson.. I don't know you and therefore am not obliged to do you any favours. Try to be more open minded.
3
@lunafringe10 don't you read Boris has form from his days at The Spectator.
3
@JackNormalMemes I agree we should stick to basics .
3
@jamsheadaziz3999 Good point. Braverman made Patel look good .
3
@Robo94100 The problem is we are all fed up.with Boris and can't tolerate him for a single minute longer.
3
I think Boris has the hide of a Rhino and it would be nice to see him brought to book.
3
@jay26cee Individual candidates who work hard deserve recognition. I am sick and tired of sleezy Tories who cause nothing but scandal.
3
@BuddhaOfDarkness This particular government is remarkable for the number of Ministers who can't do a decent job.Hand picked by Johnson is no guarantee of quality .
3
will good fellow you are correct we are constantly being sold sub standard products by the Tories .
