I might be wrong, but it appears that Ukraine's deposits of iron and aluminum (easy to extract) greatly increased since 24.02

Imagine that we are in the 24th of February and somebody tells you that in two months the situation will be like today and Russia is going to get a compromising defeat in terms of regular armies (not partisan) combat... Would you believe?

Besides what you have said about budget matters it is worth to note that GDP is not the best indicator of wealth. It measures values of goods and services in economy. So, forced labour i.e. in mobilized army and military industry- increases GDP value Weapons, ammunition production and repair just to replace the losses- increases the GDP value More burial ceremonies- increase GDP value More medical interventions and caring to severely wounded - increases GDP value Building destroyed houses and infrastructure- increases GDP value More secret service and prison activity of the state- increases GDP value All those things, although increase the GDP value, but also are just burden for the society and downgrade economy of the state and its people with almost no benefits (if there was some unemployment it could be reduced in short term, not much beside that)

200 tanks, 200 artillery systems and 1600 armoured vehicles is definetly a lot, especially because it has one huge advantage over russian equipment for the new mobilized soldiers- it is fully operational, "both drives and shoots". It can equip (or cover the losses for) up to 4 mechanized brigades and what seems to be missing the most are not tanks, but more self- propelled artillery (in any type, not necessarily heavy 155 mm)

Thank you for excellent work, I saw it in Polish so am here just to read opinions of English speaking community.

@mam0lechinookclan607 Germans don't have to sell their own tanks to Ukraine if they are so afraid, but to hold back other countries (like Spain or Poland) in current situation is clearly irrational.

It's estimated worth was 750 million USD. To put that into perspective, the additional security assistance announced by the USA ( 5:50 ) is 800 milion USD

The plan was to give Western companies a boost by promoting new technology that other, less developed parts of the world won't be able to keep up. But it turned up that China managed to make use of know-how transfer and having cheap energy- not restricting (in fact increasing) fossil fuels use and using renewable sources only where it is cost-effective, completely dominated this industry. America first recognised the danger and under Trump started to withdraw from green policies, but Europe only now starts to see how bad the situation is. If Europe won't withdraw from these green deals and other pseudoecological policies, all European heavy industry, especially automotive will get destroyed, and the rest bought up by Chinese. I am afraid Europe sank so deep in its own pseudoecological propaganda it won't be able to save itself.

The battle of Kalka river in 1223 thanks to which the Mongol Empire subjugated Kievan Ruthenia, at that time belonging to the European civilisation, happened exactly by the same river (current name: Kalchyk) which flows through Mariupol. The clash of the same civilisations takes place in the same place, 800 years later.

@taraswertelecki3786 One thing is certain- Poland will not capture any of its neighbours teritorries, there is no intention or perceived incentive in doing that, that is only Russian propaganda claiming such things. If Russia had been able to fight better, they would. As for now they lost 20% of their workable equipment like tanks and jets and 50% of guided cruise and balistic missiles. There is no reason to fear the paper bear.

Wild scale importing immigrants were to avoid the crisis involving population getting old. Energetic transformation is a fallacy that partly is designed to avoid the crisis when energetic resources will begin to shrink. Both didn't work out. You can't replace German workers with illiterate people from 3rd world. You can't bring about technological breaktrough by suppressing current economy. You can't make wild plans not taking into account the possibility of other players not playing as you wish and that crisis situation may happen. Now all the crisis are beginning to join together and German political class, detached from reality is trying to drawn other European countries with them, forcing their mistaken policies on them.

With air transport this grain wouldn't be worth the fuel used to transport it. The only thing US could do is to help escort civilian ships on Ukraine and international waters. But it seems unwilling to do so.
23
Europe have coal and natural gas, but it DECIDED to change the policy and not to use it. This policy turned out wrong, as it gave China the unfair advantage- they don't care about pseudoecology and have 3x cheaper energy as a result. Gentle transformation- based on technological advancement of green energy would have been much better for European independence.

President Biden ordered a report to Congress to establish weather arms delivery are not violation of section 620I of the Foreign Assistance Act, and it had been issued on 12 May Here are the conclusions: From NSM-20 Report to Congress: "it is reasonable to assess that defense articles covered under NSM-20 have been used by Israeli security forces since October 7 in instances inconsistent with its IHL obligations or with established best practices for mitigating civilian harm." In such circumstainces further deliveries of offensive weapons would entail conscious breaking of American law. No administration worker wants to take responsibility for that.

I don't quite understand it. Hungary, was not an independent state before the I ww but only an authonomous region within the Austrian Empire. So the whole "greater Hungary" was always an artificial concept. They haven't "lost" anyting in the I ww but recreate their independent state within borders where Hungarians were majority.
17
Ukraine is not winning, but Russia has already lost
15
@07Studio This is demonstratively not true. If every developed society demanded it, then European Union wouldn't have to enforce it from member states and creating transnational law about it. The policy design was purely economic with the propaganda as part of it. Sadly this propaganda proved to effective when economic assumpion turned out wrong.
13
There will be no war with China. Societies where 2 parents raise only child's are peaceful and reluctant to fight. As opposed to societies where children are raised without father's (like in Russia and some parts of Africa)
13
What a horrible thing to say. Do you really think it helps the Jewish cause on international area?
13
@mishkosimonovski23 Russia had ( before the war) got higher homicide rate than Nigeria and this is a fact. Crime in the USA is highly correlated with minorities and this is another issue (BTW these minorities also tend to be raised without fathers)
12
@jonathanpfeffer3716 Actually Russian military ships can leave the Black Sea through Bosphorous. They only can't enter.
12
Belarus has got more post-soviet equipement than trained soldiers, hence the transfer. Possibility ground of attack from the territory of Belarus is absurd from military point of view, as the attack on Kiev from the north was. The border between Ukraine and Belarus is demarked by the Pripet swamps, full scale invasion with heavy equipement is impossible in that direction.
11
@PavelSikun Retaking Crimea would be difficult in military terms and I am not sure that Ukrainian government is prepared for the calculable sacrifice over it. On the other hand the revolution in Russia over the losing war and maybe forceful conscription (had they do that, they would arm the supporters of the "Legion free Russia") is now distinctly possible- and then Crimea shouldn't be a problem in the peace talks with Russia.
11
@klassehkhornate9636 Had you known back then that Russian army is in such a state?
10
The bear is made of paper. And it's burning
10
It was not the Ukrainian army that blocked the communications of the Russians but the Russians themselves. At the beginning of the war they destroyed the Ukrainian telecommunications infrastructure, so that their own encrypted communications system stopped working
9
@bicker31 To be fair it was the US and the UK that guaranteed Ukraine safety for letting go of nuclear weapons in Budapest Memorandum. Other countries simply have no obligations to Ukraine under international law.
9
2:47 "The war raises many questions. Can violence be fought with violence? Can peace be established without weapons?" True reincarnation of Gandhi... That is why he is still looking for the adress to send the 5000 glorious helmets. Well, at least German beer has been evacuated from Afghanistan, it is a great contribution to the world security.
8
Many of ukrainian oligarchs were ethnic Russians. I think that one of the main reason for Putin to start the war was Zelensky policy to reduce their influence, especially in terms of funding political parties etc
8
Before we can see leopards II rolling we can't say it's a start of a counteroffensive. We don't see it, so we can be sure that new formed brigades are still on the rear
8
I don't remember the US targeting civilians on purpose, closing them in the ghetto and cut off all the supplies to starve them.
8
How to avoid mobilization when you live in Kaliningrad: 1 Go to the city centre with the banner "No to war". 2 Ask a friend to take a picture of you holding it. 3 Go to the Polish or LIthuanian border and demand a refugee status. Show this picture, you are a political dissident now
7
Outstanding move from the French though. Give something that only looks like a tank and put a finger of blame on Germany (whose military support greatly exceeds that of French), when its 400 Leclercs are safely hidden from discussion
7
It ain't much, but it's honest work
7
@_PresidentSkillz easy for him to say so now, when all the bridges are destroyed. Forces should be withdrawn long time ago, as keeping destroyed Sievierodonietsk had no military advantage and it had been only a political decision
7
@kamilszadkowski8864 Calling an enemy names is not a wise thing if you want to negotiate. Mr Macron was right about genocide- as it is a legal term which is different from war crime (there is no doubt that the Bucha massacre was a war crime), as the intention of extermination of a nation has to be proved. I will remind you that it was non other but mr Macron who correctly responded to nuclear threats of Russia in the first days of war. Morawiecki in his comments about Macron also has not acted wisely, seeing that important elections are going on in France. You might say that kind of conflict is contrary to Polish and in accrord with Putin's interests. As for the Germany- The mere fact that they managed to reorient its policies at 180 degrees, condemning Russia, blocking Nord Stream 2 and acting together with the West was a really nasty surprise to Russia. Reluctantly imposed German sanctions are 10x more painful for Russia than the eagerly imposed sancions from central Europe.
7
Why do you need a video on an easily accessible statisctics?
7
@kristofkorodi6584 But there were no majority Hungarians living there when the state of Hungary has been created in 1918. Looking back at 1000 ad is like Israeli trying to justify their war crimes by Torah. And why to look exactly at 1000 ad and not i.e. at 500 ad?
6
@Zei33 there is a reason why oppressed people are desperate.
6
@froglifes6829 Funny thing is that now when the payment is going on in USD the money is frozen for Russia due to sanctions
6
@thedirty530 "They went from 2nd best in the world to 2nd best in Ukraine!" Many are laughing at Russia, but we have to remember that their military performance in Ukraine deserves silver medal, whereas Ukrainians are only second to last
6
Different nations, different languages. Economically Sweden and Norway are united (EEA). Nothing "as well" at all
6
whataboutism in its finest. Congrats, hasbaraman, it is the best you can do.
6
Mr Dugin appears to have been suffering from little putin complex. His vision of russian civilization is only a wishful thinking. In reality its just an heir of the Mongol empire with all the civilization rule of the nomadic Mongols. Recent attack on Ukraine hasn't been justified by any logical or geopolitical reason. The only reason was a desire to punish the Ukrainian nation for wanting to leave the horde in accordance to the mongol law of Yassa.
5
@uninstaller2860 What makes you think feature of being Polish causes it not bo be independent? It's not state funded and does not take public money.
5
It is only excuse for naive public. Abrams would certainly do excellent in Ukraine. What Americans are afraid of is that if the tank had fall into enemy's hand it would potentially reveal its secret to enemies. In previous conflicts Americans were always careful to destroy it's own tanks lost on the territory controlled by enemy. The same logic could be for Germans and leopards- but Turkey have lost already plenty of Leopards2A4 in Syria
5
That is simply not true. It has been Russian politics to all conquered nations which they treated as slaves. Poles were sent to Syberia, Kossaks to Chechenya, Russian Jews to eastern Poland and so on
5
@Hlord1109 Russia is the heir of the Mongol Empire. It is part of a turan civilization, not european civilization, that is why it is and was so often misunderstood by the West. They are simply thinking in different values and frames than us.
5
It is quite safe to plan naval military operations when one have no fleet.
