This war happened because having an effective (or even adequate military) was seen as imperialist. The Social justice warriors wanted everything homogenised and boring. This war is the result. Hopefully we have not regressed so far that we simply let Putin pause and do it all again before 2035.

Last time the Russian partisans attacked, the Russian army used the exact same methods as they do in Ukraine - they fired artillery at their own towns. How unbelievably stupid do you want to be?

The Hammer & Sickle has changed. Must be neo soviet.

Washington is run by a bunch pathologically incapable of making decisions. They could have bypassed the government impasse but did nothing. The no attacks on Russia rule has stood right through the war. It almost certainly won’t move.

When Putin started using Iranian suicide drones, I said other drones could easily take them down by hitting the propeller. Critical infrastructure can also be protected by sports club netting.

This invasion will ultimately destroy Putin and Russia will collapse with him. The worry is the Russian people have been trained to ignore and even expect brutality all round including the government. What follows could make Mad fiefdom look gentle.

Listen, and understand. That Terminator can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead. Kyle Reese Bill Browder perfectly illustrates that Putin is the human embodiment of James Cameron’s monster.

This pope is no better than his 1940s predecessor who helped Nazis escape to South America and elsewhere.

During WW2 the Mustang P51 was used A LOT for ground attack. Today’s Embraer Tucano is pretty much an upgraded P51. How about using them to shoot rockets and chain gun rounds?

I believe that Putin fully intended to wipe Ukraine off the map. Not just politically but physically if necessary. Those in doubt should look at what they have done in their occupied areas. Cities razed and the people killed or forcibly transported to Russia. This gives the people a tremendous motivation to fight back.
1
The chance to stop Russia was lost in February 2022. A huge push and done (US style) will quickly stop this stage of the war. But Putin will play victim and his resources to come back later will not be reduced. There would be an everlasting tail of cross-border aggression. Grinding Russia out of Ukraine exposes their incompetence and attrits their resources to fight. Do it right and they won’t be able to keep going.
1
Russia fights its wars using war crimes as weapons. Everything from rape and torture to burying alive and deliberately flattening whole cities are their modus operandi. Ukraine like any army has the odd event where ethical rules get ignored. But these are a tiny fraction compared to what Russia does.

It would be great if someone would talk directly to Musk about this. The man is not stupid so what are his reasons?
1
Putin is a despot who only accepts good news. So Ivan, you like my table? Yes? Now. Everyone is ready, everything is ready and Ukraine wants part of Russian Motherland. Yes? Yes Sir. Of course. Off you go and don’t come back for three days.
1
In parallel to the Arab neighbours to Israel, Russia will never stop with its intent to destroy Ukraine. They will need a powerful military and associated industries simply in order to survive.
1
This is great news. Trump will not put up with Putin.
1
Trump is being “persecuted” because he basically wants the presidency to bow to his personal demands. His political stand is irrelevant. He simply uses it to get his hands on the levers of power.
1
The assassination of Daria Dugan was all about keeping her father in line. Putin will not be removed, because everyone capable of taking over has been disappeared and there is no significant partisan group with the means of the ability to kill him.
1
London Bridge was moved to Arizona way back in the 1960s. Maybe, Russian leaders will pop a nuke over there and see what happens.
1
The Russian military supplies into Ukraine are based in Rostov begs the question “why was Prigozhin unable to influence what goes where?” Could it be there is simply not enough stuff to get the job done? He was making demands that he knew could not be made. He knows the war is lost, yet he chickened out of taking over as leader of Russia.
