If the re-election of Trump is really so dangerous as has been said in this podcast, then why is Biden not doing absolutely everything he can right now to stop this war as soon as possible. Why are there no F-16 Why are there no A10 tank busters? Why are the main battle tanks being slow pedalled? Why is Russia being allowed to clog up the grain deliveries. Why is the removal of corrupt politicians and army officers not part of the deal? Biden has done it before (Barisma) why not now?

@robbyduffy1 Putin is backed by a powerful minority that not only support his actions, many want even more fascism. Remove Putin and an even worse zealot will take his place.

The MAGA cult don’t approve. Normal Americans are disgusted that pro Russian politicians within USA government can cause so much damage.

Dr Claudia was talking about threats from right wing and left wing “populists”. The right is generally common sense and small government. The Left is about big government, central control and even coercive control. Don’t forget the German historical situation she alluded to was done by hard socialists. There were added horrors but the foundation was statist and socialist. They fought for the same political space as the communists.

Ukraine needs drones that can take out the Russian flying bombs. The cheap slow stuff from Iran should be easy enough. Cruise missiles- game on. Ballistic missiles are another matter altogether.

Zaporizhzhia nukes illustrate why we should move away from pressurised water reactors. There are simply too many things that can go wrong - each leading to dangerous situations. The Moltex molten salt reactor is intrinsically safe and fully self regulating. There core has no moving parts or pumped fluids and simple passive cooling keeps it safe when shut down.

Donbas was hijacked by Russian backed thugs. Russia then did what it always does. The people were used as cannon fodder to denude the native population.

What is the current feeling of Eastern Ukraine people right now. They were pro Russia but the Russian Army has behaved incredibly badly. That must have shifted opinion against Russia.

2000 km is a 4 hour flight on a scheduled passenger jet (eg England to Canary Islands).

Hopefully, Ukraine is closely watching the Dnipro left bank for Russians moving out. Defence gaps may well be opening appearing very soon.

Sooner or later Ukraine will get told to give up some land. They will make sure to to retake Crimea before the East. That way they get maximum return for their efforts before they are told to back off against Russia.

Russian Black Sea Fleet is a few rubber boats stolen from Ukraine and a tanker with a hole in it.

Russia joining NATO would have dismantled NATO even faster than it already has.

Russia has lost all of its experienced troops. They have nobody to train new troops. However, they don’t have Sergeants so who knows how they were ever going to train their soldiers.

It’s often said the Russian losses in Afghanistan brought down the Soviet regime. However the Soviet dead would have been up to 10 times what is often quoted. 15000 per year is easily hidden. 150,000 is a regime collapsing number. Russia today in Ukraine is well beyond that.

This war is the worst of 1990s Yugoslavia on a huge scale.
1
It’s a surprise that drones of the same type were not part of the parade.

Chi sounds like another way to circumvent YT sensors.

This was 50 years before WW2.

All sides should be included. Russia however is not interested in having their rhetoric exposed.

Xi told Putin he’s an idiot but China will take his oil and gas.

Stalin did what Russia always does. Colonial assets are razed and ethnically exterminated. Ethnic (Muscovite) Russians are moved into a city totally unrecognisable from its pre war state. Stalin’s Holodomor was part of that policy. Mariupol is more of the same and shows that Russia has always been an extreme fascist construct.

I follow this pod closely. But poor pronunciation really grates. Please can these professionals say “New klee are”. It is absolutely not “nookeler”.

Apart from his “disastrous” collective agriculture, Stalin killed at least 10,000 Ukraine people when he blew up the first Kahovka dam. Any Russians killed by Stalin (and the Soviets) were there to displace native Ukraines, Cossacks, etc. mere cannon fodder.
1
Russia invaded with 150,000 troops. Ukraine already had at least 2x that and around a million when reservists are included. Russian military is incompetent at best - easily thrown back.

@john_in_phoenix Proximity fused AA ammunition is very expensive. Those Iran drones are dirt cheap.
