  5.  @MostachoIrregular  have you seen how cheap buying a domain and webspace is nowadays? EVERYONE can have their own space on the internet and it would cost only a few bucks. Also you don't have to go full blown VPS. You could also, if you want to own your space truly, get a raspberry pi as a webhost and use dyndns to route a domain to it.

  13. not really. there wasn't also no more pain than today. If you wanted strict HTML and CSS: develop for the Presto Engine (opera), if you wanted the most reach: Mozilla/Netscape, if you wanted to torture yourself: Internet Explorer... I really don't miss those IEHacks.

  16. too complicated? As a regular user you don't need to know all those concepts, or need to compile everything by hand. But yeah its a paradigm shift for sure and it takes time to grasp a new one, same with workflows. Also, why not getting out of the comfort zone? Eventually Windows will be total shit (like more shit than today or with copilot), you don't want that done onto you, right?
