  35.  @hoilst  whos saying they dont count? i cant speak for others, but im saying the sino-japanese war is the sino japanese war. the global (ie world) war didnt not start until events set in motion consequences that would become global. the sino japanese war wouldve stayed a regional war had only those 2 combatants been involved. conversely, the global war was already global before either the ussr or the usa became embroiled. the moment germany invaded poland which set into motion retaliation by the british and french empires, the war became a global conflict.

  38. fascinating episode. triumph des willens is moving, awe inspiring, and seductive. even knowing the horrors to come it depicts the nazi party as something grand in scale and somehow engenders a longing to join in its sense of belonging. one can only wonder at the effect on prewar viewers with no inkling of the depraved horrors to come. once upon a time actors were considered little better than vagrants and pan handlers.
