Even worse is the Remainers who if they were being honest would admit this is politically motivated, but instead insist on playing innocent and suggest this is nothing to do with stopping Brexit.

I can be fair about political figures I don't agree with when they're getting treated unfairly, even though it would suit me to pile on. For example I despise Corbyn and everything he stands for but I can see that the efforts to label his faction of the Labour Party as Ant-Semitic is clearly a Blairite dirty tricks campaign to bring him down.

The simple facts of the case show self defence, he was found not guilty based on those facts, Channel 4 are supposed to objectively cover the news, their opinions about "those horrid Americans and their guns" are irrelevant. So no, they do not get to lie about and distort the facts of the case because of their views on guns. And school shootings are so rare that they are statistically 0.00000000001% of shootings, let alone murders. Only hysterical leftists use emotional manipulation like that to make national level policy that affect hundreds of millions of people. Plenty of the most heavily armed US states have the lowest rates of crime and murder, while those with the heaviest gun control have some of the highest. Home swiming pools kill a hundred times more kids each year, while having no utility outside of recreation (unlike guns, which serve for providing self defence, discouraging crime, pest control, recreation etc). Weirdly today's leftists have no interest in banning them, so the reason for calling for bans on guns is about disarming their political opponents, nothing more. It is our job to see that it stays there." - George Orwell Principled leftists used to understand these facts, but now all you're so stupid that you do nothing but serve the interests of corporate and media elites.

Correlation and causation are not the same thing. The UK was in a mess because it was run by socialist incompetents, it improved not due to the EU but the Thatcher government's free market reforms.
