That's true to some extent but most farmers are extremely hard working people bit due to British geography the simply can't compete on price with farmers from the US/Australia/Argentina etc. The gov should set up an agricultural bank to finance the equipment and training to make them more efficient.

Some of these comments about "never buying from the EU" and "preferring to buy from Kenya" are pathetic, and ironically they actually play into the left wing globalist worldview people like this think they're opposing. I'm anti EU, but I'm pro European. I care more about links with Australia and New Zealand and Canada than with the continent because they are literally countries British people founded. However similarly I'm much closer to other Europeans than to Kenya or India, so I'd prefer trade with them. This is like those idiots who "own the remainers" by saying that EU immigration is only bad because it's racist and we need to replace European immigration with immigrants from Nigeria and Pakistan. No. EU immigration is not great, but third world immigration is even worse. The real alternative is to end immigration altogether, not switch it to people even more alien to our cultural and ethnic heritage than continentals are.

Yes, it's a flawed deal, yes we need to keep on pushing to cut the remaining links to the EU, we need to free Northern Ireland etc but at the very least this deal offers us much more than May's did and a way to eventually break away completely from the EU's orbit.   30. Nationalist governments can treat each other with respect and honesty. As opposed to globalist governments that collude with each other against their own populations. A nationalist French government wouldn't allow camps full of illegal immigrants to make a mockery of its borders, so there wouldn't be any dinghies to stop. And they would come to a direct bilateral agreement with the UK over fishing rights, rather than hiding behind the EU.
