The propaganda machine understands perfectly well, that you are aware of them lying to you. That's why they lie outrageously, so that even if you believe only in part of their story, you still remain misinformed. That was the point I was trying to make recently in a discussion regarding some other war. I said that propaganda lies by tenfold. I found it satisfying, learning that they did precisely that in this very case.

@macoooos9204 Additionally, there are layers to their lies. They know that some people, the most influential ones, will not believe in the main narrative, so they provide them with an alternative. Even if you break through the fog, you are still likely lied to. Just as it was illustrated in an old science-fiction story by Lem, The Futurological Congress. I think they lie to their own and even to themselves. One of the reasons why I decided to worship truth as my only "goddess".
