  1. +BucketOGravy - TIK argued that Stalingrad was the last German chance for victory, because of oil. If they severed Volga and gained control of the oil fields, they could possibly win. Kursk was just a consequence of Stalingrad, from this point of view. BTW - Western Allies mattered for Western Europe. Soviets would win without their involvement, but without Normandy they would've taken the whole Europe.
