@chaptermasterpedrokantor1623 "Once the first narrative is accepted by the public it's usually next to impossible to ram it out of the public mind." That used to be the case, but nowadays we often see the pendulum swinging back and forth quite rapidly. For example, not so long ago there was the perception that the Japanese swords had almost magical properties. That approach was relentlessly attacked by the HEMA community and they succeeded to the point, that recently there was a string of videos debunking the now common view, that the Japanese swords were practically sof-iron bars. Regarding WW2, it's the Lend Lease thing which seems to have swung too far to the opposite side of the prevailing opinion from quite recent past. It used to be "USA won the war, even in Russia", nowadays it often is "Soviets won the war totally alone". Internet changes things. Opinions were always subject to change, but it was a slow process. Now it all goes much faster.
