Do they really HAVE to put those poor reporters out in that cold? We trust you - it's cold, wet and windy. Most of us have experienced it firsthand. That said, John Curtain's segment at the end contained lots of invaluable, potentially life-saving advice.

Not a fan of the police, but they need to be treated better and given more support by their superiors. I'm glad that only 1 in 5 of them will complete this course. Maybe that's why British police aren't running around executing citizens like so many Americans are.
32
Private profits, public losses. Why should taxpayers bail out an industry that gave all its profits to shareholders?
32
Absolutely breaks my heart every single time I see his little face in a thumbnail, knowing how he was treated and murdered. :'(
32
Believed it then. Believe it now. Michael couldn't have been any more obvious short of taking out a billboard in Times Square announcing his guilt.
31
These verminous demagogues all sound the same. Good riddance Netinyahu. Hope you get to experience some of the pain you brought.
31
Can we please give all the oil company owners homes in these places?
31
So now that black women are not allowed in, it's an issue, but when these superficial, despicable clubs are profiling on looks, weight, age, fashion sense and half a dozen other criteria, nobody had a word to say. I want to know why London is issuing licenses to clubs who discriminate on ANY basis.

We have lots of Polish people in Basildon. Not met one I didn't like. I don't like the extra definition "hate crime", but those bastards should be charged with harrassment. Unfortunately it would only make things worse. The government is squarely to blame for the rise of racism with its immigration policies. When even liberals such as myself feel that there are too many of the wrong kind of immigrants being allowed in, maybe it's time for a second look.

So you went to work in the most mysoginistic nation in the Middle East; a nation that literally murders journalists who speak out, and you were SURPRISED?!

No person should ever have to justify the cash they have in their possession absent a credible criminal cause for it. If I choose to keep money in my home rather than a bank, that's 100% my right to do so. There's no law compelling me to use a bank rather than a jar on my shelf. This sounds like a reprehensible overreach by the police. I almost hope he IS guilty of all the charges, than for an innocent man to be treated this badly in Britain, and for the police to get it so wrong, but the way they just gishgalloped him with ridiculous and incongruos charges has the feel that they were just putting the boot in. The second he proved that he was a bank manager that should have been the end of it in terms of visible means of support. If he is innocent, I hope people are fired over this.
29
"What should happen to people who broke the rules?" "They should be held accountable." "So Boris Johnson should be held accountable?" "W... wait, what? No!" Backpedal backpedal. And that's why we hold politicians in contempt.
29
People like Dean, and mountaineers who scale Everest are emotionally broken. That they can only find meaning or pleasure on the very edge of death, is the sign of a serious psychological disorder.
28
"Whether you're in the Amazon warehouse or the Amazon jungle" She's proud of that line. I bet she tries to drop it into every conversation.
28
Empty tables are bad enough, but the businesses all need to continue paying rent, mortgages, taxes, etc, on top of the staff wages mentioned in this video. It's the greatest stripping of wealth from the working class in British history.
28
This is HILARIOUS. We always knew that the hardest working, worst paid laboourers in Britain were not from our shores, and just when it's going to be more important than ever to have a home grown source of food, we made it impoossible for those labourers to reach us. Still, I keep hearing that there are hundreds of thousands of unemployed youyng people...
28
"The scales of justice are weighed against ordinary people" never were truer words spoken. The system always has the power and resources of the entire government at its disposal.
28
Starmer can get stuffed. Wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him, anti democratic ponce.
28
Jeez, I didn't realise the sheer scale of it until now. Can't they just go cut the lines to that damned alarm?
27
Wouldn't trust either of them as far as I could kick them.
27
Most men live their lives with the risk of violence. Look the wrong way at someone on the street, use the wrong tone of voice and things can kick off. Life exists with a seething undercurrent of violence. Now let's talk about all the children living in fear of their mothers' tempers.
27
Do me a favour Calvin - Morgan cancelled HIMSELF with his pitiful and unprofessional tantrum. Freedom of speech was NEVER freedom from consequences.
26
Which is why economic migrants try to get here to take advantage of our gullibility. This is not a diversity issue - it's an economic one.
26
"Tax evasion" is hardly an infraction worthy of exile, but I can understand that once they gain citizen status, immigrants may gain rights to Britain's already strained health care services. I have sympathy for this guy if his mistake is genuine, and let's be honest hundreds of thousands of low skill workers are cheating their taxes, including many of the people below, but when you're not even a resident yet, you need to be cleaner than clean in your dealings with the host nation.
26
7 in 30 million? I'll take those odds.
26
It's time that local councils start denying permits to dentists that will not offer affordable services.
25
"No-one has the experience of dealing with death and destruction on this sort of scale" I think the people of Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Dresden with disagree.
25
Yeah, because victims always act rationally. That's why women a;lways leave a husband who tries to kill them the second he becomes dangerous right? The real problem are enablers who stick their heads in the sand.
25
On the plus side, at least I'm learning new letters of the Greek alphabet.
25
This report really helps to bring alive the reality of the smoke and just how difficult it made it to escape. It seems certain now that this situation occurred at least because economies were made is safety standards as well as the cladding. If this was down to a dodgy builder, or some backhanders or greedy developers, that they nail the bastards to the wall for this.
25
Just read the message. It was VERY innocuous. I appreciate Charlotte may view LinkedIn as a purely professional space, but millions of its users do not. Her response seems like an attention seeking over-reaction, but given the fact that more potential clients will be male than female, non-feminist than feminist, rational rather playing the Oppression Olympics, it's an action that may well backfire.
24
He's a policeman and he made such basic errors as being seen on camera, dumping the body near his own land, and getting tracked by his mobile phone? If his IQ is representative, it's no wonder the police are so useless.
24
The whole thing farcical now. Literally ZERO confidence in the government or the chief scientist advising them. This was predictable from the start. A half arsed, too late lockdown lead toi to this agonising destruction of our businesses and our social fabric. If there was any justice, Bozo would be in jail. Or worse.
24
It's a pity that this piece was presented entirely from the perspective of women and girls. Surely parents of young teen sons have just as much reason to be concerned about the fact that adults can speak dirty to their kids and meet with them under false pretences?
23
Absolutely appalling loss of civil liberty for someone who has committed no crime. Had she murdered someone, she'd be out of prison by now.
23
Because the people of Northern Ireland consider themselves British. It would be like giving Texas back to Mexico.
23
So Young's entire opposition to this book is "I don't think it sounds true so it isn't"? If that's the kind of weight that Cameron has behind him, he's in trouble.
22
Destined for the bin? What about the thousands of homeless and poor people?!!!
22
Poor sods. It blows my mind that 40 people have died from flooding in a first world nation. Must be heartbreaking to see your home destroyed liike that.
22
Horrifically gendered, one-sided, misleading piece.
22
One of the former governors of Texas allegedly said that he's sooner kill 9 innocent men than let 1 guilty one go free. I guess he was a christian.
21
The last thing Britain needs is to open its borders to more immigrants, even hard working decent people such as those from India, and given that we already provide MASSIVE employment IN India, the question "What is Britain going to do for us?" is ridiculous. I have been arguing for decades that we need to stop the export of British jobs to countries with almost no health and safety or labour laws. Indian students and visitors are always welcome, but post-Brexit is a time to pause for a while and take stock of our immigration policies.
21
@BigDaddy-vr2ut Imaging an ordinary , working class citizen accused of what he he, who just gave the interview he did. He wouldn't have even been allowed to leave the studio, let alone to hide out in his rich mummy's castle.
21
Because Russia has been so reasonable up to now...
21
Of course it has, because you need to justify lifting restrictions for Christmas. Wouldn't trust you to make me a cup of tea.
21
What would they expect?
21
Hmmmm, it's a pity she does not react so quickly to protect the regular people.
21
For goodness sakes, I don't want to live in a world where you can't behead innocent women, slaughter journalists and repeatedly kill innocent civilians on the street and then get held responsible and "persecuted". Sooo unreasonable of Macron. The French are fighting another revolution, but this time it's against guests and invaders from within.
20
Americans - THIS is an example of libertarianism and capitalism taken to its ultimate extreme. No social care, no protections, just the wealthy preying upon the poor, and the poor sacrificing their lives to feed their families. How are market forces protecting these workers? Where are the unions? Where are the poor joining together to ensure fair treatment for all?
19
Or reassignment will be so common we'll wonder why it was ever made so difficult. Impossible to tell which way it'll go. All I care about is what brings about the best result for the patients.
