We live in a free society, and in a free society, you cannot simply retroactively impose changed contract coditions upon people, and even less so, force them to work. I think it's high time that Britain DOES move towards a 7 day per week society in all areas, but it has to be done equitably and with consent of those providing the services. When you have workers who are already overworked and underpaid, I don't see how imposing even worse conditions upon them will improve the state of the industry or recruitment into that industry.

  5. It's not trans people attacking women that people are afraid of, it's people who are heterosexual using that as an excuse to gain access. There has apparently been at least one case of this in Canada, but I agree, the danger is far greater TOWARDS trans people than BY them. Nevertheless, I still completely understand (and share) society's discomfort with peole of opposite genitalia standing next to me in the bathroom. Perhaps we'll move beyond the social construct of such modesty as more and more sexual diversity becomes the norm.

  6. I'm gratified that the world opposes bullying, and I especially support this man's right to get down without harrassment. However, I also take issue with the phrase "body shaming" when it applies to the chronically obese. The implication that they would be fine if people just stopped mentioning their weight is nonsense, and worse still, normalising obesity is bad for the entire nation.

Perhaps the middle aged people are simply better informed than you? As a middle aged person, I've been around long enough to see trends and political movements rise and fall. This is just one more, which is not to say that there may be some genuinely trans people out there, but the movement is concerning, and it's not just "middle aged bigots" who are saying so. World class experts on the subject are also urging caution.

The argument that "it's already been adopted" carries NO weight. What, the distress of the adoptees matters more than the natural parents?   34. I think that misogynistic comments are simply the easiest weapon that many people turn to against women, but hate speech/trolling is not exclusively a sexist issue. When it's directed at males, their sexuality or appearance are usually the go to taunts of choice. Whatever hurts is what is called upon, as warfare has always been waged. The sad thing is that the internet provides a foruim which appears insulated from consequences, but not from the emotions that go with these interactions. Personally, I welcome reasonable limits upon freedom of expression on the internet, and I would start with anything that issues threats direct or otherwise.
